This is so right on and such a great explanation. The fact that there is so much misunderstanding about meditation, I think, is due to many modern Christians listening to what others have to say rather than seeking God to find out for themselves. And that is likely due to the fact that so few reads books by Christian saints/mystics throughout history, but only read what's come out the past 40-50 years. All the verses you pointed out are the ones that come to my mind too. You have a very patient, calm way of speaking and explaining things. You're on to something with this channel and I look forward to listening to more meditations. I just came across your channel today. Blessings to you.

You have no idea how much this has helped me. It’s been an answer to prayer that I stumbled upon your youtube videos. I have my BA in psychology, and I wanted to continue on to get my master’s in clinical mental health counseling. I have struggled for months about mindfulness, meditation, and the humanistic theories within psychology and secular counseling. I come from a very conservative fundamentalist Baptist background, and I was so stuck I just couldn’t see any other point of view and it hindered me especially in psychology and counseling. I didn’t think I could possibly ever resolve that conflict and my hangups with humanism, or I had to separate them somehow. Well I don’t have to! That’s the great news! You just have to look at things from a Christian viewpoint and be rooted in Christ and the Bible. Psychology does not contradict the Bible, if anything it confirms it. I think I’m finally at peace with that and mindfulness or meditating. Thank you for your video.

Dana Scott this brings a joy to my heart. I know many a Christian who cannot bring their mind(or heart) to accept that the Bible talks about mediation and its use to help alleviate stress and other attacks from the evil one.

I've had an internal conflict regarding this topic as I was brought up to avoid such practices. But I agree with all the points you made and have been able to draw closer to Yahweh at times of meditating on him alone. Plus deep breathing exercises really have rich benefits for those with anxiety. My advice to others is to truly seek Yahshua in everything you do ask for direction, be still and stay on top of digesting scripture. Those steps should help with the deceptions within this world.

what about meditating on God's word/love while in a floatation tank?
@CalmingChristian7 жыл бұрын
Hi WhiteHatGuy, I don't see any problem with that at all! If you are focused on God and his love/word, I think the environment of a float tank is great!

What a great question. I've used a float tank and for me, it's hard to think about anything other than God when I'm in one. Well, that and getting used to not sinking.

When It Speaks In The Book Of Psalms About Meditating(Syiach) In Hebrew, It Means That A Person Is In Deep Thought And Is Pondering A Matter. It Is About A Person Putting Their Heart And Mind On God, Thinking About God And Acknowledging God And His Ways. Meditation In The Bible Does Not Have Anything To Do With Relaxing And Listening To Music Or With Breathing In And Out Or Any Of These New Age Type Practices. My People Perish For A Lack Of Understanding Says God. If A Person Wants Peace, Then That Person Needs To Go To Peace Himself, God, By Way Of His Holy Spirit. If You Ask God For The Baptism Of His Holy Spirit, God Will Baptize You In Holy Spirit Fire, This Is God's Will As Is Shared In The Gospels And In The Book Of Acts. When We Pray To God And When We Praise God And Spend Common Time With God And Also Read His Powerful Words Of Truth In His Bible Through The Power Of His Holy Spirit, Who Lives In True Born Again Christians, We Are Entering God's Presence And We Are Where We Belong. It Cannot And Does Not Come By Any Other Means, We Cannot Conjure A Work Up To Get Where God Wants Us. The Spiritual World Is Very Real And Very Dangerous, God Has Given Us His Holy Spirit And His Instruction Book, What Will You With What God Has Given You ?

I appreciate your post. Thank you. Peace can only be found in God, true peace, which cuts through any worldly peace simply. I don't think there is a problem using music or deep breathing while meditating on the word, but not simply doing them with the hope for the same result without the word.

@@dr.dreycampbell537 Every Person Is Right In Their Own Eyes. But God Does Not Bend For Any Man. God Told The Early Church To Pray Together And They Did, Constantly. God Sent His Holy Spirit Like A Mighty Wind And God Baptized His Saints With His Holy Spirit Fire. The Only Experience God Wants For His People Is The Experience That Only Comes Through His Holy Presence. We As People Can Only Come To That Place When We Acknowledge That God Is Right And Holy And We Put Him First. But It’s Not About Us Having An Experience, It’s Not About Us At All. Meditating In The Bible Is About Focusing On God And What His Holy Spirit Is Saying To Us. It Is About God’s Glory And About God’s Will,Not Man’s Comfort. God Will Comfort Us Through His Presence By The Power Of His Holy Spirit, But We Come Into That Place Through Our Relationship With God And His Holy Spirit Power. In Short, We Are To Focus Our Hearts And Minds On God And Loving Him And Putting His Ways Above Our Ways. I Would Rather Obey God And Be In Prayer And Praise Entering And Being In His Presence Than Trying To Do Something That I With My Human Mind Think Is Going To Be Beneficial To Me Alone. It’s All About God And His Power, Not Us.

Amen and Glory be to GOD alone! His Holy presence is the only salve for our struggles. Focusing on who HE is and what HE has for us, based on HIS word is the key. Bless you my friend.

I have psalms 1 memorized from the KJV and I know it’s says “But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” Psalms 1:2 KJV. You might want to double check yours because that’s what mine says.

Dana Scott Hello! I used the NIV and that is what mine says. I’m happy you are here and happy you are enjoying! God bless you!

Calming Christian, sorry I was replying to the OP Sparky Flash, who said that you didn’t use the KJV which is correct, however, the verses that you quoted are still found in the KJV, and the KJV also uses the word meditate. In fact, the word meditate is found 15 times in the Bible and in the KJV. So even though you used a different version what you said is still true and the word meditate appears in the KJV as well. I grew up reading the KJV, so I know it very well.
