Well now the radar is tracking me blowing north east to my nearest Costco to restock on these. I completely agree, the value and comparison, Kirkland can beat out many of the Sazerac offerings and beyond. Great vid, Cheers! 🥃🥃

My first episode thanks to a recommendation from a mutual friend. Love all 3 of these Kirkland offerings and am lucky enough to have owned a couple of each of them. Our Florence, KY Costco always has a great selection of bourbons!

In Texas you cannot purchase liquor in “grocery stores”, so Costco circumvents that by partnering with WB Liquors to sell liquor within the vicinity but they don’t carry Kirkland products.
@whiskey_weather8 ай бұрын
It’s the same way in Alabama, where you can’t get liquor in grocery stores so Costco there has the entrance in a different location. But they carry the Kirkland stuff. Interesting, thanks for watching Cookie! 🥃🥃

Thanks for sharing all the info on these whiskeys! Someone probably already mentioned here, but any American whiskey labelled as "straight" must have an age statement, if under 4yrs. It will often be buried in the small text on the back & written in letters instead of numbers, to best hide it. Ex, ..."aged thirty six months". Never had those bottles, but if you don't see anything like that on it, then you know they are aged at least 4 years.
@whiskey_weather5 ай бұрын
Good catch Motohead! Appreciate you watching, commenting, and subscribing! No age statement on the bottle so 4+! Cheers!
@travisrobeson3068 ай бұрын
Enjoyed the video! Just want share some info with you. To be considered KY Bourbon, it has to be distilled and aged in KY. Also, if Straight is on the bottle, it’s a minimum of four years old, but if younger than 4 years (down to 2) it has to be stated somewhere on that bottle. Also enjoying from Middle Tennessee, Murfreesboro!
@whiskey_weather8 ай бұрын
Ahhh good catch, Travis. My mistake. You’re correct. According to the TTB, for it to be a Straight Bourbon Whiskey, it only has to be 2 years only, but yes there needs to be an age statement of less than 4 years. So good call on that. However, Kentucky state law only requires it be aged “at least one year” in Kentucky to be called a Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Why it’s not 2 is confusing. Thanks Travis. Cheers 🥃🥃

Unfortunately the Huntsville Costco has rarely stocked the Kirkland bourbons… I don’t know why when they have handles of Kirkland Irish whiskey and blended scotch

I got my first Bottled in Bond Kirkland bottle at the Huntsville store. But they are usually hit or miss there.

Could you add a grading scale to your reviews? Either a letter grade or number grade? That way we know your taste scale and can reference against our experiences
@whiskey_weather7 ай бұрын
Great idea! Have thought of doing something but haven’t been able to come up with one yet that makes sense with the brand. What kind of weather theme would be coolest to you( EF rating like a tornado or something like 6/10 lightning bolts ⚡️
@b22chris7 ай бұрын
@@whiskey_weather so I asked chat gpt and this is what it came up with A scale that could be used to rate the taste of bourbon with a weather theme might be: 1. Sunny: Exceptionally smooth and enjoyable, with balanced flavors. 2. Cloudy: Good, but with some imperfections or lack of complexity. 3. Stormy: Bold and intense, with strong flavors that may be overpowering. 4. Rainy: Mellow and easy-drinking, but lacking in standout characteristics. 5. Foggy: Unclear or muddled flavors, lacking distinctiveness. Each of these descriptors could represent different levels of quality or intensity in the taste of the bourbon, with "Sunny" being the highest and most desirable rating.

Most people want to know who is making things. Also, Buffalo Trace and Buffalo Trace products are very hard to find in many places. So if you can give people an alternative that comes from the same parent company and at a cheaper option, they’d probably like to know that. To each their own, sorry you feel offended. But thanks for watching, cheers Woodrow.
@WoodrowWoods20078 ай бұрын
@@whiskey_weather no offense taken or intended. But its like saying Volkswagens are related to Lamborghinis because they’re owned by the same company (VAG) when they are in actuality nothing like each other. There’s no correlation at all. Just like between Buffalo Trace and Barton LOL not the same mash bill or distillate, not the same distillery or anything. but no worries. Good video otherwise.
