The models seem really good in this game. I don't see many issues with texture warping or polygon gaps.

I grew up on SEGA and Sony and this was my Mario Kart and I now played both, I still consider this is better My word is God

CTR is easily better than Mario Kart, but is it as good as Lego Racers...?

@@Vakantscull I've only played Lego racers on a Demo disc but I enjoyed it yeah. There should be another Lego racers game, think of the custom options today!??

As someone who loves Mario kart ....this is a pretty cool game that still look great now ....great review boss

I need to play the PS1 version at some point. I had a 2 in 1 Crash cartridge on the GBA as a kid that had CTR on it and I played quite a bit of it. It was surprisingly good for a GBA cart racer. Come to think of it, the other Crash game, a sidescrolling platformer, wasn't too bad either.

I am a completionist even when I was young playing this but let me tell you one thing I had the same reaction of you with the gems, got to say this game is one of my best kart racers and I a unpopular opinion of mine is I love it more then mario well most of the mario it does not beat double dash for me due to the memories on that game, great review as always can't wait for the next one

When the mask is talking, Crash just looks like he’s not even paying attention and is thinking about those jiggle physics 👀 You deserve so many more subscribers, simply because you take the time to 100% (or super bloody close) complete these games, which tbh most of us would flip a table and shout “FU*K THIS SH*T!!!” And then go down a bottle of vodka

I didn't really grow up with this game. I played the remaster on a discount [and yes, I know the remaster is kind of controversial in regards to its DLC or something]. Honestly, it's a fun time, though I have more nostalgia for Diddy Kong Racing's adventure mode.

I think it was controversial because they added the microtransactions 2 months after the game's release in 2019 I don't think it was because of the DLC because we got it for Free

Diddy Kong Racing had a great adventure mode too that works in almost exactly the same way as CTR - you should check it out

I loved Crash Bandicoot never really gave CTR a chance, Seems my mistake was not trying the Adventure mode

I've not played this but my mate swears by it. Jesus Christ though, those boost mechanics!

they work in gameplay a lot better than they sound, they just require a bit more agency from the player than most other boosts

@@RoseTintedSpectrum I did the maths (just now, hence why it's not in the video) the 16 races that you've already finished before, then 5 gem cups each with 4 races, followed by the final time relic challenge and another oxide race... 38 races. sod that for a game of soldiers.

Being a huge fan of kart racers, this game (and nitro fueled) are easily the best in the genre...mario kart 8 deluxe and mario kart double dash are also amazing

oh I can understand that, the controls are really good and I can see myself having a laugh with mates while playing it, but the repetition in the back half of the adventure mode just felt like a grind just to get a different cutscene

@@Vakantscull those gem cups also unlock the boss characters to play as if im not mistaken so id say its not just the cutscene, i get where you're coming from though
