To anyone who was given the diagnosis of CRPS, May this be a new beginning for you! Based on the symptoms I had, I could’ve been diagnosed with this, and I am now close to no pain and full recovery in my activities. Dan’s support group is filled with people who came with a variety of debilitating circumstances and pains, and they are now living full lives, and doing things they never imagine they will be able to do again.

Hi I was diagnosed with CRPS in April after breaking my wrist and having my cast removed. I have to say I've had the most torturous stressful 5 months. The consultant put the fear of god into me and that all came to fruition. When he diagnosed CRPS he said urgent treatment was imperative - delay could seriously affect the outcome of me regaining full recovery, hence I am still awaiting a lot of the promised treatment. This threw me into a complete panick with me castrophising the whole time. It's only in the last 6 weeks that I have gained movement in my fingers and been able to drive and work again. I had all those symptoms - my hand was 4 times the size, the skin looked dreadful, yellow with red blotchiness, it was hot, I couldn't move my fingers or hand at all, even the palm under my thumb was 3 times the size, I had terrible nerve pain. My wrist is still swollen in places, very stiff and still feels like it doesn't quite belong to me, but it looks a million times better and I do have faith that it will right itself. After watching your videos Dan I cancelled any other appointments that finally turned up - too little too late. I have just done as you've said tried to calm myself down. When I looked at my life ahead all I saw was not being able to ride my horse, play tennis, drive etc - not being able to enjoy the active life I'd had before. Anyway I am now able to do those things albeit it a bit slower but I know it will all be ok. So thank you Dan❤

Thank you for sharing your story! I'm so glad to hear you are on your way to fully healing! My doctor says I am on the borderline of crps due to occipital and arrector pili muscle misfiring signals (autoimmune and an injury) making it painful when my hair moves. My hair contracts tight then releases and down my body does the same in spots. I just discovered Dan and I'm also reading all of your encouraging healing stories. It's a gift to be here ❤

Tried to comment a couple of hours ago, but that comment seems to have been eaten so I'm trying again. I was diagnosed with CRPS in late April of this year. TMS/PDP is the only explanation that makes any sense at all (despite the x-rays). 4 months later, I am able to wear shoes and drive and cook again. My body is still a pretty colorful place sometimes, but I believe I am on the path to a full recovery. Thanks, Dan, for making it so simple to understand 🙏🏻

I was diagnosed in 2015 after accidentally stepping on a small red potato that fell onto the floor. I spent 5.5 years using a knee scooter! In the beginning I tried getting help through my insurance company's Dr's. Unfortunately I had more knowledge than they did about the condition. KZbin was the key for me, it led me to Authors and channels like this one, (thank you Dan!) I've been walking for over 2 years now! I was lower than low. Desperate, hopeless, suicidal for sure! If this is where you're at, please know there is a way out!❤

I had an intra articular wrist fracture in December 2018 which was repaired with a titanium plate. I’m still suffering with burning pain and my hand and forearm feels cold to touch and struggling to regain normal functional use of my hand. I’ve had surgery to remove the plate, a gp has diagnosed crps and yet the consultant says there’s no such thing and it’s aways a structural cause. I’d give anything to feel less pain from this debilitating pain. I’m trying to calm my nervous system but struggle to do so. I know that I have given this lots of fear and attention. I'm grateful for this video today as it makes sense. Thank you Dan

Wow. I was assaulted over a year ago, left with a serious spiral humerus fracture that took 5months for the fracture to close. Anything touching the bit where the break happened and I'm flinching. Hand and wrist,lower elbow now have restricted movement, swelling, sometimes doesn't feel like hand belongs. Can't make a fist. Always dropping stuff. Diagnosis of osteoporosis. Never heard of crps til now lol. Waiting for appointment after being referred back to hand wrist team. Trauma therapy coming to an end. I think the trauma of that event is locked in my arm/brain. Deep down I'm scared if I have a fall my arm(right) won't be able to save me. I'm going to try deal with it as PDP. Eye opener video for me today. 🙏 thanks

PB, have you read The Expectation Effect by Dobson? Dan recommends it. I'm reading it now. IT has been blowing my mind. The power of the mind is even more than I imagined (and I feel like I understand this stuff pretty well!). The book is loaded with documented scientific evidence of how the brain can create anything. It's unreal. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it!

When I first heard of CRPS, I also thought that the symptoms clearly sound like TMS, but then I saw some cases where necrosis and sepsis occurred. So I am not so sure anymore tbh 🤔

I don't believe it is black and white - one or the other. Obviously, work with a doctor to keep an eye on yourself to make sure nothing that serious develops. I believe the brain is always involved. Hello, i was diagnosed with rsd in 1994 by a pain specialist and received a nerve block which decreased my pain about 50 percent. Over the years i have had 25 sprained ankles to my left foot and 3 on my right. Was able to return to normal activities until last october. Started having burning pain to my left foot which got better 3 times but always returned. The last 2 days the pain,redness,and heat is back and has spread to both feet and i am in a wheelchair now. Am interested in your program. Have to try something,having suicidal thoughts more and more.

I wonder how similar this to fibromyalgia in terms of symptoms? What do people report? VERY FASCINATING how the brain can create such sensations and symptoms from at times innocuous stimuli...
@PainFreeYou Жыл бұрын
The symptoms are different than Fibro, but they are, in my opinion, all caused by the same thing. A brain perceiving danger and that means the solution is still the same as for those getting over any perceived danger response (pain or symptoms) Watch my fast start playlist to see what's going on and what to do about it. This is me!! I am having these symptoms after my upper spine surgery 3 months ago. Very important information, the very next day after I had my surgery I had a very very stressful event in my household, my husband and 18 year old son got into a big aggressive argument that almost became physical where I found myself in the middle of them yelling and crying trying to calm them down (mind you I was in a neck brace as my surgery wound is on my throat right over my artery in my neck so all the yelling really aggravated it.) I have been struggling terribly since and that’s how I ended up finding you. I’m getting pain in my hands randomly as I’m walking around, they start hurting and they’re bright red and all spotty looking. Also pain in my feet and lower legs and sweating on the bottoms of my feet. The circulation in my legs has been different since surgery, they’re purple sometimes. I often feel very weak, dizzy and out of breath like I’ve “over done it” after extremely small tasks. I have a lot of stomach problems now with GERD symptoms. Brainfog terribly. Not to mention awful anxiety especially in public places and when I’m left home alone. And pain the sides of my neck where my vagus nerve is. I’ve barely been able to function since my surgery and so far none of the doctors I’ve seen have been able to offer any help aside from telling me “I think this was caused from your surgery”. Which is very disheartening. But I can not shake the feeling that what my body is going through has something to do with the stress of that situation the day after my surgery. It was a huge deal, I ended up taking my 3 boys and going to a neighbors house that I didn’t know but I knew a police detective lived there, until my husband packed some things and left to go stay at a hotel. My oldest son was home visiting from the military and was flying back to his base that next morning, which I was already sad about him leaving, and my 8 year old witnessed the whole thing and was shook up and stressed out, it was overall VERY stressful on me. My body has felt majorly stuck in this rut of feeling terrible since and I’m trying to figure out how to dig myself out of this and try to get my life back. This is a very depressing time in my life as I’ve been going through this.

What would you say to folks that consistently make progress with physical treatment, but struggle with things like guilt returning to habits that got them into pain? Maybe not many if any symptoms etc, but the fear that maybe they could go backwards if they overindulge?
@1STBUCKLEY Жыл бұрын
Just my take. You will send the message to your brain that there is something to worry about. It's that fear that we'll "break" (remember we are not broken)that keeps us stuck. You're doing great by what you've said, nothing to lose. Keep going. Worse case scenario you know it's PDP and can step out of it again IF you fall backwards too far. Day at a time. Well done
