I feel sorry for the Devs who have had their hands tied for a long time now, the studio pulled people and resources away from Dauntless to waste on Fae farm then got rid of half the staff when that failed, Dauntless has been running on bare bones team for a long time now.

I didn't want to believe all the people who said game would be dead and gone after the awakening update, but now I think this is definitely the end. I also played the game for some stress relief it wasn't too difficult, and I could sit back and spam my war pike and reckless leap. The new update made a lot of og players quit and made new players not want to play, which was pretty sad. Have to also feel bad for the players who have been with the game since launch and have been spending money all these years supporting this game for it to end up like this. I hope somehow this game has a revival story like no mans sky, but for now, it's looking very grim. I am still playing the game every now and then, so I guess only time will tell if the game gets completely taken down.

All of the devs were laid off. Forte told Phoenix Labs to not deploy Umbral Reign a few hours before it was supposed to go live. The Umbral Reign patch no longer exists.

I'm reading between the lines of the conversations today and it looks like the Dev team did not want to continue to follow in the bad direction the leaders wanted to take the game so they stood up for the community and got axed for it.

the announcement will definitely affect Dauntless. The time I played this game I had a ton of fun will never forget that. I personally stopped playing this game after awakening dropped cuz I don't like the derection the game is going after Forte took over. Nice Video man

@@swift_n_deadly yes and no. they have had plenty of time prior to ownership changes where they made similar bad decisions and also completely let down the community. this has been an ongoing thing for years within this game and the dev team, the new ownership basically just amplified the terrible decisions to soak up the last bit of money they could before drowning the game in its own shame. regardless, its a huge letdown, and I miss playin with yall tho. thats for sure. had alot of fun with this game and all the friends and community built up along the way.

At this point I'm not even surprised anymore. After they dropped Reforge, an update wich drastically changed the gameflow (and by that split the community in half), people left. After they completely messed up and basically removed the chains from the chainblades, the community was pissed... some chainblade mains left. In a time span of over a YEAR of nothing... no updates and an absolute minimum of communication (wich is a very bad thing to do in a live service game), people started to get bored of the game and left. After they finally released Awakaning, an update in wich we got to see the most greedy and scummy version of the shop yet... more people left. When looking at the Steam DB Playercount, It's no wonder they fired some important devs. There are just about 150 (steam)players ingame. That's not just bad, that's Concord-bad. I wanted this game to be good. I wanted it to succeed. I was always annoyed by people who kept saying "game dead" in comment sections. But after all this, I have to agree now. This game is cooked. They had so many chances to learn from their mistakes, way more than some other development studios... And they still fucked it up in the worst way possible. After all this, they just get what they deserve😔

Season 2 had many bug fixes. Season 3 would have had all of the weapons returned with a UE.
