If they're alive, the Hero of Ferelden looks for a cure in DAI. You'd think by now, a decade on, they'd have found one. They probably have. But seeing as DAV doesn't account for their existence and search for a cure due to not factoring in DAO choices, we won't know. I think our Hero of Ferelden succeeded in finding a cure and it might not have been given to the Wardens of the north yet.

@@sonnenblumefrau2048 As far as hiring goes, no company scours soc. media accounts so thoroughly as to check follows/followers. As far as I know, Amadi hasn't said anything publicly that would flag him, so I completely understand why Bioware didn't know. The messed up follows didn't come to light until pretty recently ... certainly after they hired him. It's also worth considering that some public figures (especially those trying to increase their prestige in the public eye) will simply follow back anyone who follows them, not checking the accts. Sometimes they do auto-follow backs. What's the case here? Not sure. I hope like all get-out that the follows were unintentional ... but, either way, it's a crap look and does him zero favors.

I really want to romance him because he seems like an amazing character I'd love - but I really want a happy ending! I just hope there's still hope for a cure, or maybe they could finally find one in DATV... I'm not a huge fan of everything being doomed, I crave happiness and fluff :( But since he just seems like a good person I'm so intrigued... I think I'll play his route nonetheless. And maybe Lucanis's as well, who knows, maybe that one is less doomed lol.

I didn't know that about Davrin's VA! That's a little bit too much to be a coincidence. I'm going to take solace in remembering that the VA is not the character (do we even know who Davrin's writer is?), and I'm not gonna stop let the VAs possible bigotry prevent me from loving the character. I can't imagine that Bioware themselves realized either.

Oh, I def don’t think BioWare knew. He never reposted any of their videos and content so I’m guessing it flew by everyone’s radar cuz it wasn’t really obvious. Davrin though is written by John Dombrow who’s written for other BioWare titles. He was additional writer on Mass Effect 2, wrote for the From Ashes DLC, which is how we got Javik in Mass Effect 3. He contributed to the Leviathan and Citadel DLCs writing. Was senior writer for Mass Effect 3, and Lead writer on Andromeda. Was also the senior writer on Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea. So definitely quite the roster.

I know I will have a Rook that romances Davrin, I just don't know which playthrough as I am still flip-flopping between who I want to romance first, along with which lineage, class, and faction my first Rook will be. @@michellestr8998 oh no. It sounded like you really are curious about it, so I didn’t take offense. It’s all good. I guess for me the reason why I’m laughing is cuz I do have mutuals who are men who are also excited for the romance. Because RPGs is about fully inhabiting the character you’re playing as, and because relationship building is part of the core of that existence, the romance is just as important in that case. Now are there people who have zero interest in romance in RPGS, hell yeah. But are there some who have either thought of which companion they want to romance or are waiting until they get in the game to see if anyone catches their attention, yes there are.

Okay but adding to the heart wrenching unless Rook is also a grey warden, they wouldnt know about the taint. Assuming not all the grey warden secrets are known. 🥲 And Davrin will have to tell Rook about it.

For all we know, a Warden Rook could still be a relatively new Warden and, like the Hero of Ferelden did with Alistair, would have to rely on a more senior Warden to explain things to them which are related to the order. I suppose it will depend how you roleplay a Warden Rook. Mine will be more experienced than my Hero of Ferelden was at the start of DAO.
