Welcome back to another hardcore week of achievement hunting in Final Fantasy XIV. This time around we'll be doing some Delubrum Reginae, followed by Delubrum Reginae, and then some more Delubrum Reginae.

Back before the housing lottery system, I spent like 5 hours clicking on a placard trying to win my first house. I had to go to work the next day at 7am and it was around 1am so I gave up and went to bed. I had a dream about the house and it woke me up at 3am. Instead of going back to bed, I logged in and continued to click the placard for another 3 hours. Around 6am I actually won the click war and got the house. And of course I called out of work lol.

as a fun fact for farming delubrum normal mode, the echo scales based on number of players inside. whether you have 1 player or 5 players, you all get the same echo at 400%. if you have 6 players, everyone drops to 300%. 8 players also has 300%. it drops down faster from there, but basically, you want to run with exactly 5, 8, or 24 players, and any other number is gonna slow you down for no reason.

That's why speedrun teams are in 5 for PF. Man, I had a great time with a PF team I random joined. Joined as White mage, first thing "essence and actions?" "Pure Divine, chainspell and S Strike" "Sweet, we have c4 you can go Profane" "Hell yeah!" Got to Profane game, manged to out DPS and pull aggro of sam during my bursts, good times. The queue took longer then the speedrun.

I think the worst decision I made for an achievement was when this one streamer I watch said he was going to do DR all day about two weeks ago. The stream was about 12 hours long, I ran it 20 times in a single day with the streamer. I couldn't feel my face the rest of the night, and also had lucid dreams of running DR and constantly hitting the landmines. Incidentally he may be doing the same thing on Sunday, and I may be joining for a good part of it again.

I've ran the savage version literally a few days ago. It took 2 hours and some of the most fun I had in the game in a while, 48 people in a savage is crazy fun. Hardest part is getting into a party fast enough, when they're scheduled they fill in SECONDS

i resonate with Cider's feeling towards retail so much. I worked customer service for Publix for 3 years and let me tell you.... you dont know hell until you have a woman trying to get a refund on a $200 gift card when you and everyone working there saw her steal it last week. And before anyone asks, no we arnt allowed to accuse her of stealing it because corporate is afraid of lawsuits

Every single store I’ve seen requires staff to activate gift cards at checkout. They are the least stealable merchandise in the store. If someone showed up with a working gift card then yes accusing them of stealing it would be extremely stupid. If you saw them stealing a gift card five seconds ago right before they walked to the register, chances are it was a different one

I used to work in the booking office for a hotel chain and it was a nucking fightmare. People changing their bookings right up to the last minute, demanding discounts on local tourist attractions because apparently us doing the hotels meant we did everything... The most 'charming' one I ever got was when we had an AFL game in town, everything had been booked out for months, and someone called ten minutes before we closed wanting a two-bedroom for that night *and they'd already driven halfway here*. I managed to wrangle them literally the only place in town, a four bedroom 'unit' in a hotel, and they told me off for not being able to get them anything cheaper. I have never wanted to curse someone out so bad before.

For Cider's sake, you can also get Timeworn Artifacts from doing runs of floors 51+ of Palace of the Dead, and there are a lot of achievements associated with it. So he doesn't necessarily have to get all of the Artifacts from Delubrum.

The worst I ever screwed myself for gaming was back when I played WoW during Wrath. I was working at Home Depot at the time, morning shift. So I had to be in at 5am to get up on a forklift and help unload the overnight truck. But my raids ran from 8pm to 2am. There were a whole lot of mornings when Nos and Mama Rosa's chili-lime chicharrones got me through my shift.

The worst I've ruined my schedule due to gaming is easily when Monster Hunter World came out. I was working retail at the time and my shifts started at 6:00 AM, but my partner and I got into the habit of playing Monster Hunter together like 12 hours a day. I was playing until 5am, going to work from 6 until they let me leave (anywhere from 12pm to 2pm), and then collapsing for a few hours when I got home. Good game tho By the way, your struggles with losing rank despite gaining points might honestly be you suffering from success a bit. I think these videos have inspired a lot of people to get into achievement hunting who weren't before (including me), which unfortunately means more competition on the leaderboards. My achievements for the week: - 40 unique Blacksmith leves - FATE Rank 3 in Ahm Araeng - All fish caught in Cieldalaes and Sirensong (non-Spectral) - 220 unique Miner items and 340 unique Botanist items gathered - 500 high-quality crafts and 320 unique crafts as Carpenter - 300 Level 11-20 crafts as Blacksmith (can you tell I was inspired to do more crafting by your last video? lol) - 30 Shadowbringer S-ranks killed - Couerlregina, Elderblade, Tojil, and Nightshade FATEs

I (EU) once raided with a US guild. So I would go to bed early, around 7 or 8, wake up at 2am, raid for three hours and get another couple hours of sleep before I had to get up again The things we do when we're young... I'm absolutely loving your videos Cider and I hope you get to go full time. I remember when I tried to do DR because the quest told me to do it - I queued up (didn't know about the 10 minute timer and never thought to check PF) and two times it was just me and one or two others, but on my third I got an absolute stellar gang of 5 vets who carried me through. The absolute worst thing I ever did for my schedule due to gaming was acquiring the Gurubashi Arena's Grandmaster Trinket in World of Warcraft. The Gurubashi Arena offered a chest containing a basic stamina trinket once every 3 hours, but it was a Free-for-All zone where players of any faction and ANY LEVEL could kill you as you tried to open the chest. Due to this, attempting to open the chest during non-peak hours was the best way to maximize your chances of success. The problem is I wanted the Grandmaster version of the trinket that provided a hefty damage absorption shield on cooldown. This Grandmaster version was leagues ahead of any comparable trinket a leveling character could acquire and dammit I had to get the best gear I could as I leveled! To earn the Grandmaster version of the trinket, you had to successfully claim the chest TWELVE. FUCKING. TIMES. Since I was leveling, if a significantly higher character showed up I had to concede the chest to them. Sometimes I wasn't out-leveled, but I still lost because there were multiple people clamoring for the chest, because another rogue would get the jump on me as I attempted to complete the chest's required 10-second cast time to open, or because people would come with a buddy to help get the chest. I spent around a month completing this cycle: going to bed after my midnight attempt on the chest, then waking up for the 3AM chest, then waking up again for the 6 AM chest before I left for school, then the 6PM chest after doing my homework, and the 9 PM chest after dinner. I eventually got it and it gave me a great advantage in my level bracket's Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin battlegrounds, but my god was it hellish. I started involuntarily sleeping in my social studies class because I didn't allow myself to sleep for more than 2.5 hours at a time. My teacher got so pissed at me for nodding off in his class that he even kicked my foot once to jolt me up. I'll never do something that so persistently, constantly deprives me of sleep again. Staying up a little bit or waking up a little early once in a blue moon to try getting a big fish in FFXIV is the worst thing I do now, but it is nothing compared to the hell that was the Gurubashi Arena's Grandmaster Trinket as a min/max leveling character.

I specifically recall people going beneath the Darkmoon Faire arena and opening the chest through the floor. I recall reporting them, but I don't know if anyone was actually banned for it.

For Delubrum, the Echo actually caps at 5-man, so there's no benefit for having less than 5 people in a run. You can clear DR in around 20 minutes with 5 people. It's just getting 5 people to deal with the easiest content in the game. Heck, you only take any real damage if you don't use a Pure Essence.

That's the thing though, it's not easy content. I am admittedly a filthy casual core player. But delabrum is hands down the hardest content I've run in game so far. I ran it 20 times to grind out 4 relics and I think I only ever had one deathless run. Even without essences, it'd not the damage that kills ya, it's the Doom. Damage is basically nonexistent in that raid anyway.

I've been really enjoying your series of keeping up with achievement grinds. I haven't commented until this week, but I've been keeping along. I'm an achievement hunter as well, but did slow my progress quite a bit for a while. And this has been giving me something to keep up with and inspiring me to get back on grinds. You and I happen to be on the DR grind at the same time (though I got the 50 a loooong time ago. I still need the relics. And I've never seen that damn mount drop once) The answer to your question, along with last week's question actually, is just my Saint of the Firmament grind. To be able to keep up with the rest of the ranking, I had to buy millions in materials just to keep up with it. And it got so bad that I straight up got sick in the middle of it, which made my brain go "hey, day off work for more grinding" it was really bad and I try to keep myself from doing that to my own health again. That said, when the new Crystal Conflict started I started dreaming of pvp matches and it straight up stressed me out in a way that work does. So it doesn't always work. Anyway, keep up with the good work! And if it ever gets too much on the achievements, don't hesitate to take a break or just keep up with the long progress ones like levequests. Worst gaming related reason for disrupting sleep: Trying to day 1 raid in Destiny 2 while being an Australian Worst time I messed up my sleep sched: During high school, I stayed up for 4 days straight - at first I just wasn't tired enough to sleep after 24 hours, and then later it sort of became a case of "I'm too exhausted to sleep" and then "How long can I do this for?". I cannot describe the utter delirium I was in towards the end of that, and I slept for something like 14 hours straight that weekend. I would also ride my bike to and from school, so I'm very impressed I didn't somehow get into an accident (people like to drive badly in that area and I would ride my bike next to a main road).

Since last week's video, I have further worked on crafting-related achievements (as I had already been doing). During the last week, I have completed my level 60 job quest on SAM (5 points, completed my level 70 job quest on SAM (5 points), obtained my Anemos weapon for SAM (10 points), obtained my Pagos weapon for SAM (10 points), completed Seat of Sacrifice EX for the first time (10 points), completed Hades EX for the first time (10 points), completed my 10th mentor roulette (5 points), completed my 50th mentor roulette (5 points), completed the post-story followup role quests in Crystarium (two achievements worth 10 points each), completed the final step of the Mandervillous DRK weapon (10 points), completed the followup quest for the Aloalo Island completion (20 points), completed my 500th field levequest (10 points), and a large plethora of crafting achievements: I have crafted level 1-10 items 50 times with CRP, LTW, WVR, GSM and BSM (5 points each for a total of 25), level 11-20 items 300 times with WVR and LTW (5 points each for a total of 10), level 21-30 items 750 times with CRP, WVR and LTW (5 points each for a total of 15 points), crafted level 31-40 items 1500 times with CRP, WVR and LTW (5 points each for a total of 15 points), crafted level 41-50 items 3000 times with WVR and LTW (10 points each for a total of 20), completed all the "craft x times between x and y levels" achievements from level 1 to 50 with WVR and LTW (30 points each for a total of 60), crafted my 100th and then my 500th HQ item with LTW (5 points each for a total of 10 points), crafted my 500th HQ item with WVR (5 points), crafted my 500th HQ item with CRP (5 points), gathered 20 times from level 1-10 trees in Thanalan with BTN (5 points), gathered 20 times from level 1-10 deposits in the Black Shroud with MIN (5 points). Phew! In the last week, I have gained 295 points, a record for me since tracking my gains through Cider Spider's video series. I now stand at 19,900 points ingame, or 18,805 using the Lalachievements scoring system. I went up NINE ranks and now stand at #58 for achievement points on Adamantoise. Grind on, achievement hunters! ... And now I watch the video. :p

I work in retail too and i feel you. The absolute worst thing ive done for gaming was when a day one raid for destiny 2 came out, and later they extended the time by another 24 hours. But what i did that messed me up for a bit was work my normal shift, attempted raiding until i had to work again, then worked, then went home and raided till the last second where i needsd to go to work again. So to sum it up, i worked 3 shifts and raided inbetween them with no sleep for essentially 3 days. I was falling asleep at work and lost as to what day it was by day 3.

main reason most PFs want pure essences, they're cheap if you bother with any cluster farms, you can buy your pure essence fragments for a single cluster, and each pure essence has a unique interaction that makes them extra useful. tanks and healers don't bother with their pure essence bonuses simply because they're meant for DRS (though tanks get their best damage bonus outside irregular with their pure essence, and can survive the traps in DR with like rampart in 5 man teams), but the DPS roles get benefits for much larger damage bonuses than normal. melee DPS with pure essences can use the honored sacrifice banner and get double the duration and essentially no damage taken from the banner, Casters can use Lost Cure IV to apply a 10% damage buff to the entire team, ranged Phys get shafted as they can use Lost Cure II iirc to apply stacking mana regen to party members, but apply a stacking slow to themselves, so they usually ignore their pure essence interaction and use Dervish with either a banner or font of power. Healers basically never use Pure essences simply because they have several other essence options that provide far better damage bonuses than their pure essence, aetherweaver is 80% damage increase (96% if deep), templar is 60% (72% for deep) and profane is 100% (120% for deep); ordained provides a smaller damage bonus than pure essence but works with chainspell for 100% extra damage while chainspell is active instead of it's usual 45%. WHMs bringing maximum power in DR are ludicrous. Deep Profane, Seraph Strike, Font of Magic (need ether kits to sustain MP against Font of Magic draining it) can basically out-DPS most other roles with little effort if they know how to work around Font of Magic, or do slightly less damage and use Chainspell instead for less aggressive MP management. also a side note for fighting the Queen at the end, her Cleansing Slash tank buster only applies the doom if it does damage, mitigate and shield hard enough and you can save your healers the trouble of removing doom (can also carry some medikits and cleanse it yourself) being able to stop the doom is ridiculously easy for DRK (TBN is so thick with Pure essence it's actually hard to break) and WAR (pop thrill of battle and shake it off to shield yourself)

echo is most effective with only 5 players, too, and i've learned the hard way that 8 man PFs tend to sandbag more often whereas 5 mans *generally* know what to do. to anyone else stuck in this hell; it's way easier at r25 with good actions so i'd highly recommend coming back for the relic *after* capping at least DPS honors. The tldr for newbies; pop *something* that increases damage output, you don't need any defensive actions, two hits and you die so defense doesn't mean shit. follow the group, if you need advice just ask, and do your best to heed it. Do not be that now blacklisted WHM we had the other day who sat at the cache INSIDE THE FUCKING INSTANCE *FOR SEVEN WHOLE ASS HUMAN MINUTES* and still never popped an essence or used their actions when asked to do so. Not the only or worst sandbagger I've had, just the last straw on joining 8 mans lol. And always remember, no matter how bad the grind gets; It was way fucking worse in ShB! I was there on patch day. I didn't know what an essence was. Half the instance did not know what an essence was. It took us an hour and a half. For one. Single. Artifact. I needed a fucking nap afterwards. Pug runs were just kinda Like That for a long time, I don't think I ever had a decent pug run dps wise, I just kinda dealt with it because I was still relatively new and PF intimidated me.

I remember when I first cleared P4S. It was after months of on and off trying to get a clear. I first hit endgame a month or so before 6.2 dropped, so I was in a mad dash to finish Asphodelos as soon as possible because I knew that it would be nearly impossible to find a group when there's a shiny new raid tier out. So eventually I found a group of people who've cleared a few times, and accepted a new little scholar to their group of Phase 2 fresh prog for a few. I didn't even tell them that I'd never even cleared phase 1 yet, and they didn't know until I told them, so all's well that ends well. Normally, I was supposed to go to sleep around midnight, but after all that progging, and feeling like we're getting closer every time with the clear on the horizon, we got it at about 4AM. Nowadays, doing one of those kinds of runs is completely common for me, but at the time I just wasn't as experienced at having little sleep when I was still new at my current job. I'm like a functioning alcoholic, but for sleep deprivation instead. At that point, I had been at that job for maybe three or four weeks, and I did the day feeling groggy and a bit sick to my stomach. I had planned to do some overtime the whole week, but instead I ended up calling out the next couple days. A bit of an overreaction, but it all worked out in the end. I kept a perfect attendance for months afterward, and kept up on the overtime to show that I'm a good little boy. But yeah, this kind of behavior is common for me now, especially since I started trying in earnest to catch up on the raid tier. So some nights I'd stay up to 5AM just struggling against P8S, and take more caffeine into my system than oxygen the next day. Got the clear though, so it's all worth it, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Relics speed runs are the way to go if you plan to spam them. You can't skip the 10 queue time but with the right people and set up you can absolutely get sub 15 minute clears as opposed to 25+ min clears on normal parties. Ill list below the normal speed run for any who are interested. 5 man squad for maximum echo Queue in on French or Dutch if you are on NA so you don't get a random person as this massively increase the time it takes. One caster with pure essence + cure IV and FoM or chainspell (why cure IV? cure IV gives a 60 second bravery to the whole party when used with pure essence on CASTERS ONLY) One or two melees with pure essence + lost rend and banner of honored sac (honored sac gets modified from pure essence, if two melee have them alternate who uses rend or bring only one rend and the other melee brings FoP as well) One ranged phys with pure essence + dervish and FoP Last slot can be filled by anyone really, cure IV will be your healer so only thing you might want is a bard to cleanse the doom on last boss but even thats not needed really. If you have a healer make them bring a full dps like profane or aetherweaver + chainspell and seraph strike. For tank bring irregular essence but pure is fine alongside bare minimum FoP and a banner but bloodrage is better. Ill try to keep an eye on this in case of questions but in essence ask around or google if you arn't sure.

My static made use of the new request repair feature because not everyone in the static was an omnicrafting chad. I also had one person use request meld to do penta-melding, one meld attempt at a time, because they were too lazy to level one crafter up to 90 when they were already omni 80.

I'm currently raiding ultimate twice a week at 1am-4am as a European raiding with an NA static, but my schedule is shifted fairly late so that's not a huge disruption. The biggest one was Endwalker server up where my friend and I levelled one of the new jobs each from 70 to 80 in one single day so that I could do Endwalker story on Sage. I think all told between levelling and starting story we played 16h that first day or something

Just spent this past week in Delubrum for resistance weapons and I was surprised at how many groups for it were up on pf. My favourite run was the one with 1 tank 7 dps and we just rez maged during the last boss with the doom

The most I've disrupted my sleep schedule is for Big Fish fishing. Cinder Surprise has such incredibly terrible uptime that I decided to get up in the middle of the night to catch it. I finally caught mine at like 5am local. (I'm also seriously considering getting up at 4am to get Sidereal Whale this week, which will be coming off of a literal 2-week downtime.)

oh god, what havent i done to ruin my sleep/life/job for achievements. setting an alarm for a Big fish window at 4:20 AM on a work night staying up till 3am every single day to grind rival wing wins during mogevents (currently) try and minimize my sleep schedule for 11 days in a row for saint of the firmament. no sleep, no life expansion launches to omni lvl all jobs asap.

i would hold off having to do the remaining DR runs as you can get timeworn artifacts from PoTD runs. Since, you're achievement grinding, you'll get plenty of those if you keep the quest up.

Worst schedule disruption because of gaming was going for Big Fish title at the end of Shadowbringers. I would set alarms in the middle of the night to catch low uptime fish because I just wanted to be done with it and didn't want to wait three weeks for my schedule to work for uptimes. I did not do that with Final Fish title lol

Only just started watching the video, so I may be late with this, but i don't want to forget it later: since Palace of the Dead also gives the relic timeworn artifacts and it has achievements tied to it too (Especially pal-less palace which will likely take a lot of attempts) you'll get more than plenty artifacts from it and don't need to run more delubrum

Drunk rambling is the best rambling 😁 Pure essences are definitely the way to go for speedrunning DR though - you can only use them in DR and DRS, they don't work in Southern Front/Zadnor, so you might as well use them and their special effects! I do love going Pure Elder and having Cure IV do an AOE bravery, and going Pure Gambler and packing your holster full of Dynamis dice for shenanagins

Weekly progress report (current Lalachievement score of 15,715): So I decided two weeks ago to finally sit down and do the Studium quests. I got them most of the way done, but then vacation, and so now I'm only now wrapping them up, picking up Winning Bread, Starry Night, Found in Translation first, 'Tis Not Hereafter, Sufficient Data, and ultimately Overeducated. Also decided to finally upgrade my ARR tools, which netted me Tool Time for the Land (I'm bottlenecked by white crafter's scrip for mastercraft demimateria so I'll have to do the crafter tools later), and cleared up some precious retainer inventory space for the various related mats I'd been sitting on. Further grinding Comedy to get my SCH geared has led to a surplus of Causality, and so I picked up Reforged: Majestic Manderville Chakrams and Perfect: Mandervillous Chakrams. Also happened to pick up Getting Too Attached III while melding my SCH gear. Working on levequests, focusing on unique tradecraft leves, I picked up With Needle in Hand I, With Needle in Hand II, With Pestle in Hand I, With Pestle in Hand II, With Steel in Hand I, With Steel in Hand II, With Pan in Hand II, and Think Global Quest Local V. Mostly done with the ARR tradecraft leves in the city-states (about half of all ARR tradecraft leves); next step will be doing the ones out in the various zones.
