Rimuru underestimates himself, is why we see him doubt himself everytime he engages in a fight. Diablo on the other hand knows Rimuru's capabilities and how strong Rimuru is, one reason he wanted so much to serve him because Rimuru is way stronger. Diablo is never scared of the 6 Primordials or anybody else for that matter, but he is scared of Rimuru.

The only time Diablo was stronger than Rimuru was that brief period when Rimiru summoned him while he was evolving into a demon lord, it should be covered really soon in the anime but a Demons magicule count is capped (including the primordials) until they're named and it's revealed way later in the LN but with how Beelzebub works is that Rimuru ultimately gets stronger as his subordinates get stronger so Diablo is not "allowed" to get stronger the moment he was named by Rimiru, plus unique skills as a general rule cannot beat ultimate skills. That being said. Another thing that supports that Rimiru is stronger or at least Diablo can't kill Rimiru is that when Raphael goes on an upgrade spree the only person who didn't get their skills upgraded to ultimate was Shion because Raphael thought her skill could kill Rimiru, Diablo got the all clear.

Good point. But being able to kill Rimuru is harder than just beating him in a fight. The biggest differences and why Diablo is stronger than Rimuru is because he was able to instantly bring out his full potential and master the power he received by being named. Rimuru and Raphael need time and battle experience to do the same. Diablo is loyal to Rimuru because of his potential not his current strength. Rimuru's strength currently in the anime (1st half of season 3), he is the weakest demon lord in the Octagram. (Yes other than Ramiris and yes his ranking will obviously change by the end of the season unless they keep having meetings....) I can tell I don't need to tell you this but for the others, Diablo is one of the few characters who can match Raphael's intelligence even after being fully evolved and the oldest and most experienced fighters in their world. This is why his current strength is the same, he is a Demon Peer as soon as he is named. He does not receive another power up until much later in the story. Later it will show him beating 3 very strong girls 1v3, before he evolves which means at his current strength in the anime. Now do you honestly think Rimuru could beat those 3 at his current strength in the Anime? No chance, sure he wont die because he basically has unlimited magic, which means unlimited regen, plus broken ability to absorb/block almost any attack. Surviving and winning the fight are two different things. (This is why Shion is a threat because her ability basically gives her unlimited damage, she can still lose even with the ability. Which is a great example because she survives the fight(with help) but still loses it.) There is only one follower who is objectively stronger than Diablo's current strength. Its because they are already fully evolved and at their max strength and also being trained personally by Veldora helps too. It's because Diablo is so strong that he never considered the need to evolve to achieve his goals. Its not until the fight that proved he was not Rimuru's strongest follower anymore and his loss to another character that he finally decides to evolve. He gets an ultimate skill and masters time stop, his intelligence and combat experience have always been maxed out from the start.

Yes the whole point of the show is watching Rimuru realize his potential to accomplish his goals. He does not start out the strongest but rather improves exponentially through time, and most importantly battles. Diablo is the opposite, he basically starts out at his max strength and does not have a reason to get stronger until later in the story. I don't think its until early Eastern Empire arc that Rimuru is clearly stronger than Diablo. Ofc late Eastern Empire arc Rimuru becomes stronger than Veldora. The point is the gap is quickly closing but I don't think it is until after this upcoming fight in the anime that Rimuru has the edge and starts to surpass Diablo.

Diablo had a habit of making Rimuru's subordinate stronger.. Just like he did with Shion when Diablo and Shion were fighting Insectar... Diablo could have easily defeated him.. but he limited his strength to Shion's lvl to make her stronger... and same with Zegion he said to Zegion If you tried harder you could have defeated me... But Diablo could have easily defeated Zegion.. But it would have definetly stopped Zegion's potential if he would have been defeated by Diablo..Zegion's whole potential lie on his pride him being strongest but Defeated by Diablo would surely had hinder his growth..That's why I think Diablo never defeated Zegion...Remeber in vol. 21 Zegion was one shoted by Zalanus... and to Defeat Zalanus he had to use Nihility collapse+Dino's God grade sword(God grade sword has over 10 million EP).. But on the other hand Diablo was fighting Zalanus without going all out only with hand to hand combat..

@@Shakaa8354 Zegion was only stronger than Diablo for a little bit but it was when he killed Zalanus and became King. Yes Diablo also intended and helped make this happen. Diablo could not defeat Zalanus with his own strength. Yes Diablo could have likely beat Zalanus if he used Rimuru's strength, which is how Zegion defeated him. But Diablo is Rimuru's fanatic. Diablo only wants to help Rimuru and be used by him. He considers using Rimuru's strength or destroying anything Rimuru made, blasphemy. This means he refuses to borrow Rimuru's strength or attack his cells which is his rule for when he or the other 3 primordial fight Zegion. He would rather die than commit blasphemy against Rimuru, unless he is given permission or ordered to by Rimuru which does eventually happen in the story. This is why Diablo chose to beat Zalanus in a way that helps Rimuru, even if this temporarily no longer makes him Rimuru's strongest fighter. Diablo has absolute confidence in his strength and knows he will reclaim his "rightful" spot, and its only a matter of time for him. Diablo decides to help Rimuru by making one of his followers stronger and buys time for Zegion to be able to become King by killing Zalanus. This is the moment is when he finds a reason to become stronger. Diablo has always been seen as "odd" by the other primordial because he became bored and stopped trying to get stronger and instead looked for a way to eliminate his boredom. Diablo has absolute confidence and knows he can get stronger, what he needs is a reason. I think one of the reason he liked Rimuru, other entertainment, was because Rimuru surpassed his own potential. Diablo could always have found a way to become strong as Guy but never had a reason. This fight and later protecting Rimuru became his reason.

Even during sparring Zegion won against other primordial 1 on 3 but when fought against Diablo the match was draw b/w them.. I still remember the word Diablo said to Zegion after the sparring... He said If you tried a little harder I would have lost... this type of line is usually said by Diablo when someone is weaker and from here it was clear that Diablo didn't win against Zegion on purpose.. because Zegions strength lies on his pride considering himself strongest subordinate but If Diablo had stomped him in earlier stages his growth would have been affectef... and Diablo had a habit of making Rimuru's subordinate stronger not weaker.. (Diablo is still carrying the mantle of undefeated character in series). And It's not just likely that Diablo would have defeated Zalanus but It was definetly He can defeat Zalanus..If Diablo would have pushed to the limit and people Inside the Dungeon would be in Danger he would have immediately stopped Holding back because for Rimuru instead of things people are more important...but he was never pushed to the limit and He only fought Zalanus hand to hand without using any skill because If He fought hard he could have destroyed the dungeon along with Zalanus.. Even during the fight we can see he had still time to mock Zalanus.. and Zalanus had same feeling as he was fighting against Milim.. and After Zegion awoke Diablo happily gave him the opportunity to exact his revenge.. I think Diablo didn't defeat him because he was enjoying the fight..Just like he always do in every other fight where he lead his opponent to use everything in their arsenal.... later he said regretted giving Zalanus to Zegion when Vega was not even worth looking over.... I hope Next Vol. clear about Diablo's power... I hope they make him fight Feldway and left Iwaraj for Rimuru and other's..Diablo already said he would take care of Feldway..😅 But they sure are taking too long to release final volume.. 😪

Nah.. At this time in the anime, Diablo is currently overall more powerful than all demon lords except for Guy, & Milim. Rimuru has not yet become more powerful than either Diablo or Veldora. Not YET at least… Diablo shouldn’t be underestimated by any means. Quick question quick answer. Diablo can't defeat Rimuru. Maybe in anime and manga Rimuru would have some difficulties, but in Light Novel thanks to『Harvest Lord, Shub-Niggurath』Rimuru have access to all of Ultimate Skills of his subordinates. On top of that he also acquired Michael's skill, that gives him access to every skill from angelic series.

Well rimuru above Ln volume 11 clear's mid diff due to having a better understanding of his skills as that was all he really needed to fight even true dragon's. After true dragon evolution its no-low diff and it just gets easier as it goes.

Rimuru has Veldora and Uriel as ultimate skills. Veldora is a True Dragon, so he trumps a Primordial in total raw power by default. The only way he can lose to anyone under True Dragon is to be outplayed and sealed away, like in the case of adult Chloe. Uriel gives Rimuru Infinite Prison, a technique that doesn't fully depend on the power level of the user. Very hax. Not to mention, Diablo's access to his full Primordial power in the physical world entirely depends on his summoner to allow through. For the referenced time, Diablo in his true form indeed had more *raw* power than Rimuru himself did, but Diablo *can't* win specifically due to those three unavoidable factors that nullify that power. You're being kind by giving dissenters even five minutes of your time explaining it lol Take my like.

Milim fought Guy, and he stated that they're equals. That's about the same level as Diablo is. Veldora played with Milim to keep her occupied until the spell wore off, after comically eating a hard punch to the back of his head from her [and didn't even buckle], and was dominant in the sparring match. Rimuru even made sure to ask him not to harm her.

I don’t think there’s any point in time after Rimuru summons Diablo where Diablo is stronger than him. There is an argument to be made that Diablo could have beaten him pre TDL evolution and maybe just after it, but it would be due to superior knowledge and skill rather than power. Rimuru always appears weaker than he really is b/c most of his fighting prowess is locked behind Raphael. He’s not a complete idiot, but he’s not exactly the smartest or most skilled fighter without it.

Apparently everyone saying diablo doesn't stand a chance and so on....has only seen the anime and never read the light novel, cauze it's stated MANY times that primordial black (diablo) unlike his fellow primordial siblings refused to fight all the time like them, he never trained with them or raised his abilities through battles, but the one time he did fight one of them, he fought primordial red (guy crimson), guy who had unique and ultimate skills during their fight while diablo had never trained nor had any high level skills....was still able to end it in a draw, which caused diablo to sit back and wait for his chance to force himself through rimurus demon summon, yes rimuru has all his skills I get that. But don't forget diablo can snap his fingers and put up a complete anti magical barrier...not one that nullifies magic slightly, diablos entirely cuts the use entirely of any magic being used, which would force rimiru Into a close quarter hand to hand fight in which he stand ZERO chance against diablo, I'm not stupid so of course I know if rimuru got any single one of his skills off, diablo is done for, but rimuru has a few years experience in that world....diablo has literal millions of years, he wouldn't hesitate to put up the barrier and do what he needed to take him out unlike rimuru who likes to play with his food some and think to hard and long about his next moves, or spend time asking Raphael what to do lol

There are 2 ways to view this 1. a) Diablo is stronger because: diablo was way stronger than any demon seed level character making him stronger than rimuru before he became a demon lord. b) demon lord rimuru gained 10x his magicules but diablo, aside from already being stronger than rimuru before, got a name and bexame a demon peer which are on a level of awakened denon lords. Again, due to diablo's inherent strength, this would still put him on par with rimuru. c) im not sure of the details but i think diablo evolved into a demon lord just before rimuru became a true dragon. If i remembered this correctly, then no voubt diablo is strpnger durinf this time. Now, 2. Rimuru is stronger than diablo because of his food cgain ability which makes him strpnger than all his subordinates (this is the common claim) Rimuru is stronger due to having 4 ultimate skills which are in a league of their own Rimuru is stronger because he was able to name diablo after diablo already ascended to demon peer which indixates rimuru is stronger than diablo Either way, im all for it. But Diablo. Eing my favourite character, i have my bias leading me to think diablo is still stronger than rimuru until his dragon incident. Rimuru does actually get stronger throughout the story. It's not that he's as strong as possible once he becomes a demon lord, he power ups throughout. For instance, when rimuru named all the black numbers and got the 3 primordial girls, he had a pretty big increase in power. He got another boost when he started evolving his subordinates to demon lord in the war with the eastern empire. Then with Ciel and him being a true dragon. But he actually evolves after becoming a true dragon, because he has no TIME to deal with strong enemies.

Of course, anyone who read the light novels already knows, diablo will never challenge or disobey rimuru so that's one fight we will never get to witness,here's a quick and easy logical way of looking at it.... 3 of the 7 days clergy almost EASILY wiped out rimuru if not for sacrificing beelzebub for the divine protection he was toast, 3 other clergy used the same exact disintegration skill on diablo....he simply snapped his fingers, canceled their spell and ended their loves within seconds.... logic and common sense best favoritism anyday people! And I'm saying that as a Rimuru super fanmyself, hell rimuru is the only anime character i trulky believe can beat , goku AND one punch man 😂

I'd say that rimuru is stronger power-wise. If it came to showdown and only strenght mattered, rimuru would've won. But let's not forget that Diablo is "primordial black", which means that he's as old as guy crimson. And that means a lot of experience. Hard to say if rimuru could close the gap in this aspect even with raphaels help

He is especially when he was first summoned but the gap is quickly being closed, by Raphael. Also worth mentioning Diablo is one of the few people in the series that can keep up with Raphael's intelligence. Where the anime is at right now for this season its closer to a 50/50 and the last time you can give the edge to Diablo. Rimuru is still weak right now compared to any of the top tier characters, and honestly the weakest demon lord in the Octagram (not counting Ramiris). The plot of the entire show is watching how Rimuru turns his unlimited potential into reality to accomplish his goals. The whole reason Diablo took an interest in Rimuru was because of his potential, not current strength. Diablo has never been impressed by strength, he expects it. Being strong will get Diablo to acknowledge your existence but it alone is not enough for him to pay attention to you. The other Primordial are good examples of this. Alternatively, some weak human who says something good about Rimuru will instantly get his attention, praise, and potentially respect.

For the idiots saying diablo is weaker. Rimuru was weaker than diablo for a good bit after he summoned him. Diablo was already stronger than luminous after being named and luminous was stronger than rimuru for a good portion of the novel until like volume 11 or 12 which is where id say he surpassed her. Yall tripping. Currently diablo is damn near stronger than all the demon lords besides guy, milim and dagruel. Yall saying rimuru is stronger because rimuru can use diablos skills are on drugs. Just because he can use diablos skills doesnt make him stronger. Rimuru can also use veldoras skills like black lightning etc but they are no where near as strong as the original user becsuse he is weaker than them. Its confirmed in the novel at this point in the anime and manga rimuru is weaker than luminous who is only slightly stronger than unnamed ultima who is the 3rd weakest primordial. Diablo is the second strongest after guy and was once guys rival in power thousands of years ago until diablo gave up on becoming stronger which let guy surpass him and increase the gap in power.

Rimuru has 4 f********* Ultimate skills and even if you give Diablo powers from beyond the anime like Holy magic and is own US he STILL can't beat current anime Rimuru Temper no matter if Ultimate or Unique gets blocked -> Rimuru has Spirit Attack nullification paired with ABSOLUTE DEFENSE and he has superior will power so he ain't moving that guy to another dimension without his consent ever even magic is not effective as for one Rimurus control/authority over magicules is higher than Diabols even if he is a Primordial -> should Rimuru finally decide to actually use Law Manipulation for something other than creating those lame ass Black flames even casting magic should be nigh impossible and if you don't buy this argument then there is always ABSOLUTE DEFENSE, anything that Diablo has besides holy magic gets blocked and while holy magic might by some miracle get through, chant nullification doesn't work on it, so there always is prep work to be done for it so it can be easily be dodged as is the norm since usually barrier don't even have the slightest chance against Disintegration, this goes even for absolute monsters like Guy there is simply nothing really working against Rimuru, he is like "Jack of all trades master of most(if not alll)" oh and i am pretty sure the resistances in the video are is currents once in the LN aka the strongest and most developed version of him and not from the anime
