I also grew up Bruce Lee in the early 70s, being a 12-year-old. I went into our local Sebring hairstylist bringing a picture of Bruce Lee‘s haircut from Enter the Dragon He says oh you want a shag hair cut, he knew exactly what to do, so that was pretty close and ironically being Sebring shop in our small town. The documentary is excellent!

This documentary made me respect Bruce Li even more. His niceness did shine through his movies and IMO that's what made him the best Bruce clone of them all, the similar personalities and attitudes. It really is too bad he got stuck on this ripoff genre, as it's clear he would have shined way brighter if left to do his own thing, I highly recommend the movie "The Iron Dragon Strikes Back" (there's a great HD transfer on Bluray) as the definitive proof of this, and the ultimate Ho Chung Tao movie. It's a great kung-fu thriller that punches way above its weight despite its low budget, and it's a legitimate attempt at good cinema unlike most of its cynical money grabbing contemporaries. Someone online said this would have been the best Bruce Lee movie if Lee actually starred in it and maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but still I couldn't agree more - let's not forget his movies, especially the first one, were also low budget affairs punching above their weight.

Hi Stripey, I remember it well the crazy times in 1973 when Enter the Dragon came out, we were all in the local martial arts clubs bouncing around like Bruce, atl least we thought we were...... I saw all the films and others King Boxer is still a favourite non Bruce movie. When Game of Death came out, it was like a kick in the guts our world fell apart. To this day I can't believe I paid to go to the Cinema to watch it, really showed how good Robert Close was as a director, and who's vision Enter the Dragon really was. I will watch the doc, but Brucesplotion was to me like wearing cheap knock of trainers, always left a bad taste in the mouth. Keep on keeping on

Hello Stripey, i've given you my usual thumbs up because i appreciate your efforts and enthusiasm. Sorry mate, i can't stand to watch any Bruceploitation films or docos about them, they turn my stomach!!!. I watched Enter on it's release in 73, i was 14 but could easily blag 18, i became an instant fan!! I went to London in 78 to watch the shite GOD and was devastated to see the complete Inosanto fight removed, plus the terrible war cries, WTF was that all about?!! The fact is i love Bruce so much that i scoured the 8mm film market to get that Inosanto fight, this was before VHS was around so it was expensive, obviously i got it. I used to attend all night Kung Fu movie shows in the early 70's too, watching Five Fingers Of Death, Hapkido, i even watched the terrible Fist Of The Unicorn just to see that cameo of Bruce!!. Fist Of Fury was parceled in with that lot ,it was uncut and made the night well worth while, i stayed away from any rip off Bruce movies!! fond memories indeed. Back to these horrible films, i'm sorry, i really can't stand to watch any of them, the only thing that came out of all that shite was the song King Of Kung Fu which i own, it was fantastic!! Also i have to admit that John Barry's theme music in GOD 78 was brilliant but i put that film in the Bruceploitation category because of that scene where they stick a face mask of Bruce on the mirror with the towel around his neck and used his funeral, disgusting!! Sorry i'm going off on one here mate but , if it 'aint Bruce, you can shove it where the sun doesn't shine, (not you) especially when you now see the magnificent Final Game Of Death on the incredible Arrow box set. Keep it coming mate, we are family when we love Bruce so much that not a day goes by without him being thought about or spoke about by millions. Personal regards Roger B Egerton.

Hi Roger. I enjoyed reading your comment. You were there, mate. I agree with most of you're comment, I feel the same way about most of the Bruce knock off films (there are a couple I quite like, but they don't come close top the Lee originals) GOD 1 & 2 are Bruceploitation, 100% but they will be forever tied to his filmography. The Final Game of Death is a triumph, Arrow knocked it out of the park with that one. P.S. I have King of Kung Fu rattling around in my skull (I can't shake it off) 😅😆 Cheers Pal 👍

Just a wee thought Stripey. I have the Arrow bruce Lee box set as well on blu ray. Even as it was advertised, I've always though it could be a lot better for Lee fans. Here's my thoughts. Mandarin cut of big boss is amazing. So why the crap standard cut that fans will have. Instead how about the soundtrack instead. Fist and way are incredible. Enter is what it is because of Warner. Game of death and Game of death 2 shouldn't even be in it. Not lee films. Exploitation yes. The final game of death is out of this world. Why not include long beach footage if possible. All scenes from long street and other footage of tv appearances he did. Music from soundtracks. Anything rather than GOD AND GOD 2. Which I've never understood why this crap is in every boxset. What are your thoughts Stripey. As usual hope you and the family are well. Love Derek and Nicola 🥋👍

We have The Big Boss by Peter Thomas, ETD by Lalo Schifrin & John Barry's GOD which all sound great, but I would love the 3 Joseph Koo's to get the remaster treatment. I like the idea of getting all the Bruce Lee stuff (Longstreet/Long Beach & TV stuff) but due to rights etc, I doubt that would happen. Cheers Pal 👍
