Wood glue is no good in an end-grain-to-end-grain glue up. If you want it to work better, rub wood glue into the end grain, come back in like 15 min, add more glue, then glue the pieces together. And use clamps until the glue hardens.

No don't trust this guys videos, he doesn't use the products to their directions and he does a half ass job everytime. He proves nothing. His videos are ok to watch for entertainment but he does a shit job everytime at everything. I'd never hire him for a job.
@forfrigsakes33305 жыл бұрын
@@carter2007 Trust me that was going soft on him. I've watched a lot of his videos this is the first time I mentioned anything, but the guy doesn't use any basic effort with the products and his tests are flawed and unreliable. I mean he seems like a really nice guy and his videos are somewhat entertaining, but the least he could do is try a little bit when it comes to the actual work with the products. If you want I could pick apart everything wrong but anyone who's ever used wood glue or has read the directions on some knows what I'm saying. This is a test I think you should redo, with clamping pressure. With how thick the flex glue is, I think a clamp would make an ENORMOUS difference in getting it to grab the wood.
@alanthomas87485 жыл бұрын
Hey Tyler great channel and all . I know it don't matter too much in comparison tests but you really should clamp the wood whilst the glue sets as a lot of wood glue sets a lot better under compression . in ya test I believe ya probably could have got to at least 400 pounds if ya had kept compression on the blocks while they dried. Congrats on the 100k as well
@paulszewczyk24524 жыл бұрын
Hey Tyler I think with the glue you could lift way more if your little blocks were cut straight , the reason why it failed is because of angled cut and you have created weak spot. but love the channel and keep up good work :)

Different glues do different things, different compositions make glues good for some applications and not others. That amber colored polyurethane (I think?) based Gorilla glue is great for gluing foam together for example.
@N00BST3RS5 жыл бұрын
It will go even further if you use a different set of glued objects for each lift, it is exerting way too much stress lifting objects over and over and it is causing them to break faster. Use a different set of glued pieces of wood and I'm sure it will lift even more weight!

When it comes to super glue and certain other glues, the saying “less is more” is very true. You don’t want to put to much glue, if you overdo it, it will actually stick less. Don’t over do it with the glue, use a clamp when possible and allow for adequate curing time and you should have a strong bond…

the wood glue was at a disadvantage in the second test because the wood blocks were not even levels. and wood glue when used right is stronger than wood. the wood itself will break before the wood glue does

Even though I don't believe the result would change that first test was quite fair. Wood glue isn't as thick as flex glue therefore the 2 pieces of wood were able to make contact with little to no pressure. With the flex glue you should of put more pressure between the pieces for better contact between the two.
