I honestly think the FE can’t compete with F3 even with slicks, maybe at a power oriented track like monza but FE obviously won’t go anywhere but a street circuit.

FE is all power no grip. Makes it harder to drive but much slower. F3 you get the advantage of the aero, slick tyres and far less weight. Portland will be a good one for FE. Get the feeling the cars probably suit a normal circuit more as will let them be able to utilise the extra power more than the street circuits. It will be interesting to see what way they go with the 3.5 evo. Hopefully we can get some softer tyres and maybe even AWD to extract more performance out of this package.

F3 much harder because you have less of a margin of error due to increased downforce/grip. FE drivers have it easier because they can break earlier and their car is much more manageable under over/understeer.

To be fair, Cape Town and Sao Paolo were almost tailor-made for the new cars, the fastest (average speed) Formula E lap was set in Cape Town while the highest top speed was clocked in Sao Paolo. Formula E already has played a bit upon the new strengths, but I would love to see them in Portland nonetheless. I hope Formula E starts ditching some of the twister tracks from their Gen 2 era for permanent facilities like Valencia and Portland (especially London can go away)

as Lucas digrassi said already in mexico. the car is traction limited. they can't get the 350kw power down. apparently the Gen 3 tyres are a bit worse than gen 2. maybe gen3 evo in 2025 will fix that if they make a gen 3 evo. otherwise we have to wait untill Gen 4 in 2027. Gen 4 might also add AWD/4WD.

Slicks are the main reason F3 is faster. If FE had used slicks, they would be flat out in many corner.

@@Dont14-r4k its very minimal tho. FE can reach top speed of 320kph and yet half of the horse power of F1 at 470bhp while F1 is at 1060bhp or so at peak with ERS boost. Which shows that F1 has alot more downforce which case alot more drag.
