Well it's not hard to be less bad than Macron But we would rather have a system where the majority of people hold the power, so even under a monarchy we would still want a proper democracy. Actually, Macron was elected president twice surfing on the fear of the far right rising to power. Since then he has only decreased in popularity, lost at 3 different elections, and his attempt to use the fear of the FN in power to get elected only made the RN more powerful. We do not consider that France democracy works as a democracy because people vote against the worst candidate and not for the best candidate.

You're right, this is why we used an interrogation point when talking about fascism. Actually fascism is an authoritarian regime that requires 3 main components, populism, nationalism, and totalitarianism. France was already populist and nationalist. And with this denial of democracy we are on the tipping point of totalitarianism. And we are angry too, that why it's important to not accept this political "coup de force" of the president. Because if this can happen in our democracy nowadays, what's else will go through ? Like we said in the video, the few extremely reach families in France hold 40% of France GDP, before Macron quinquenat, it was 5%. Let all remember that Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany before he became a dictator. And changed the constitution afterward allowing fascime to install itself in the country. And now in our country, it's considered democratic to not elect a prime minister from the winning alliance in the election, or to use 49.3 to govern, or to have cops kill kids in the street, and then become millionaires. All these can help fascim install if the FN comes to power. Because now they can use all the same tool as Macron to implement racist laws, xenophobic laws, sexist laws, homophobic laws, anti social laws, and so much worse. We do not believe in this France, we believe in liberty, equality, and humanity (because fraternity is a bit exclusive and sexist)

Jesus Christ, forming a right-wing government to defeat a farther right-wing (arguably not even that right-wing) party IS LITERALLY DEMOCRACY. That is what you do to form a govenrment, that is what democracy looks for. This video is slop. Again, this is a question not an affirmation. We understand you seems to view democracy as a discussion to form consensus and you are right, it's a core component of democracy. But in this case, this was at the price of the voting so it's literally not democratic. It's aristocratic. Here, a few choose to create an alliance to form a power able to govern and again, against what the people voted. That's why we say France is no longer democratic. Furthermore, we explain that the alliance of the RN is a connivance with fascism and whilst it's not full fledged facsim, it's leaning toward a right more and more extreme. Thank you for your comment though, it's true that a definition of fascism would have been good to use in this video.

No, the NFP didn’t win; they won a plurality of seats. The plurality can’t make decisions for the majority of the country. They would have to form a coalition with the moderate party to pass any bills or to remove the new government, which is unlikely.

first off, nouveau front populaire neither got a majority of all seats and it didn't even get the most votes in total. that honor goes to FN furthermore fascism was a national syndicalist ideology, it was only framed as right wing in the runup to ww2 and even so the entire left right divide was utilised purely to create a communist/fascst-nzi dichotomy whilst all three had more in common than any democracies did with them. their policies were all about state power for national equallity (or equity even) Mussolini had been part of the socialist party since the end of ww1 but he was kicked out cause he was to radical for them, furthermore communists tended to join the fascists when they realised their party couldn't win. offcourse the problem with all three was being anti democratic which lead to autocratic/technocratic governments that ended up even more corrupt than what came before. what i'm saying here is that calling FN fascist makes no sense at all

While it's true they have a relative majority only, the NFP should still be in position of governance because they were democraticly the alliance with the majority of deputy at the assembly. Also, while it's true they didn't get the most vote, they aren't the one being helped by billionaires to promote xenophobia and false information. That's dishonour goes to the FN. Though you are right about the historical origins of facsim, you should also consider the older history of imperialism that gave fascism its authoritarian characteristics. Because all fasict government hold in common nationalisms, populism, and totalitarism. Also, a lot of people used socialism in their name of party because it's was trending at the time, but as the amazing "Diable Positif" say "it's not because something is called something that said something is displaying the proper characteristics to be said something." Communism in USSR wasn't communism, some republic weren't republican and USA isn't a democracy's because it's not the people that matter directly but great electors. And now, in France, the alliance of people that gets the most representatives are not the one in powers. We agree that power corrupt and destroy itself in time, that's why we are anarchist. And to finish, as we said in the video, calling a party fascist while it promotes nationalism, repression, violence, sexism, racism, xenophobia ... , a party that welcomes ex nazi in their rank as fondator, and even present for the vote nazi sympathetic candidate, is to be called fascit, moreover, it should be called as such because they display fascit behaviour.

You're quite right, this video is meant to point out the rise of fascism as a whole. It is not normal that an ideology based on suffering is rising again on the brink of ecological collapse. We are heading right for the wall and we aren't even flinching a bit, this is terrifying. The fact that in France the president (supposed to be centrist) is aligning with the far right to steal their votes is baffling and has only shown to strengthen the far right. Fascism is a system where a majority population unconditionally follow a charismatic leader who uses an idealized version of History (sometimes religion) in order to form an authoritarian nation based on a set of strict principles. What you described about the condition in France doesn't fit that definition. Maybe Authoritarianism is an apt word. Also, even when Democracy properly functions, a state can still turn to Fascism. It is often achieved by people who vote for a Fascist, who later removes all democratic processes.

i'd add that it isn't even authoritarian, it is simply the way the French political system works, there is no coallition Macron is simply prefered over NFP by his own voters, LR and even FN voters meanwhile Macron is prefered over LR and especially FN by NFP voters then there are the divisions within the NFP, its allready showing it's cracks as there are major differences between the more moderate social democrat minded members and the hardcore socialists/communists.

Indeed, the current state of policies is more akin to authoritarianism. The issue is as you said; with the recent political moves , the day a fascist comes into power, they can use the jurisprudence to act without boundaries or counter power as long as the president is from the fascist party . So by acting as he does, the current president is putting the democracy and republic in great danger. As for the other answer, the Macron party is dying and only held up thanks to the republican barrage. And it's true that the NFP is feeble, but it is still holding out and did win the election. And you need to consider why voters think the way they do, Macron is protected in most media aside from leftists ones , who are repressed, and meanwhile the NFP , especially LFI, are turn evil on any mainstream media with calumny about their action and programs. So it's actually really impressive that with all odds against them, the left did win 😊.

La France Insoumise, the party founded by Jean Luc Mélenchon, hasn't been in power yet so we don't know for sure if they will respect their engagement. However, their deputy in the national assembly always voted in favour of social rights and against unfair laws. They voted against increasing the age of retirement (btw 90 % of the french population was against this law), they proposed a vote to increase the minimum wage (all other political parties refused), they are in favour of LGBTQ rights (they wanted to make it possible to change your gender on your passport directly in the mayor office), they are in favour of women's rights (they proposed a law that was voted in order to penalize forced suicide, basically in case where the husband pressures his wife's so much that she end up kills herself to escape his wrath (this law isn't being applied but it was voted thanks to LFI), they are against any form of racism and discrimination (we would even dare say they are the only political party not racist of Muslims in France), and they have the strongest ecological program in France. And about Mélenchon himself, he rebuilt the left wing so that it really is a left wing party, contrary to the PS of Hollande who is way more of a centrist party than a left wing party, he was one of the first to talk about feminism, about queer rights, about racism, social determinism , injustice of the current system, the need for a reformative politics, a new police center less on bust results and more in social integration, an alternative to total capitalism, a real ecological shift and much more. Because it's turning it's not fully cooked But do worry, repression of media , journalists and activists is already under way . Journalists have been arrested and threatened by the police for researching France's implications in spy activities in Egypt. Also, many ecoactivist are classed as "fiché S" and are under surveillance. Fiché S means that the state considers you as a terrorist. And when we say ecoactivist, it's just people who went on a climate walk, not necessarily people who acted in a terrorist intent in the past.

​@@AzrodandPiouPiou "lgbtq" was not even in the vocabulary during ww2 and homosexuality whilst having technically been legal in france since the revolution and subsequent Napoleonic code civil removed sodomy as an offense it was more frowned upon than it had been in the early modern period where it was generally seen as just a perversion. besides all other allied powers actively procecuted homosexuals well into the 60s and gay marriage was only made legal during the early 21st century. There was no attempt to legalise homosexuality within the USSR either as it was simply seen as a mental ilness as was the case everywhere else, even in France where "sodomy" was legalised people were still sent to sanitoriums for it. Seriously it baffles me how you can just do 0 research about anything and then make a video declaring france fascist cause things are done as usual but you expected your bundle of allready quarreling parties to be in charge? None of the others would accept that and you would find it ok had it been FN that won the majority of seats and you had to choose between Macron or Le Pen. also fascism is a new order ideology, they don't really believe in fasifying elections cause they do not bother with elections at all, mussolini came to power trough his march on rome, Hitler failed, later came to power democratically and then removed democracy and hollowed out the office of president during his time as chancelor. Macron is many things but he hasn't attempted to hollow out french democratic institutions, the president simply decides who the PM is, you might find that wrong but in what country is the PM elected directly and there was no deal for the position either.
