it is not nonsense it's a lifesaver I guess you were not fat, to begin with so why would you do keto if you are not fat anyway for the fat people who can't control their weight it's a lifesaver, of course, I understand this guy and other keto hater's mindset they have been saying something for years and they have tried hard to make that body composition they can't suddenly say the reverse. and if you are fat and interested to know how to lose it and keep it off give keto a try for "a few months" not a few weeks and don't cheat

My parents did that when diagnosed with diabetes and has some 'logic in their head' regarding that (note: they still ate candy, baked goods, crisps, junkfood, potatoes, bread and other carb-sources in vast amounts.) Fruit was removed from the home and soda changed to diet... Nothing else was changed. A decade later they did add fruit into their diets again but I was told off for eating an apple AND a pear for dinner (with some yogurt) and how it was gonna make me fat, a rant about 'sugars' and how he could never stuff himself like that. (Whilst eating a dinner loaded with carbs, fats, sugar, etc. that didn't even fit on a single plate and I estimate around 2000kcal.)

I think when some people say that fructose is a "poison", what they mean is that the liver must break it down into something that the body can use, like glucose. Now this does not mean that limited amounts are bad, the liver is able to break down a certain amount of fructose a day having no problems, it would only be an excessive amount which causes problems. This excessive amount is hard to achieve by eating fruits, given the high amount of fiber in a fruit along with the fact that fruits have other sugars. It is probably practically impossible to achieve this excessive level of fructose if you just ate fruits, but might happen if you consumed drinks, desserts, and other foods that had high fructose corn syrup. There is also the theory of hormesis that small amounts of these "stressors" or "poisons" can have positive benefit, so this could be true of fructose. I wonder if there is a hormetic curve with fructose. I think the problem is how people are using the word "poison". Maybe the more appropriate word is "toxin". "The reason for these disastrous health problems is that high intake of fructose acts more like a toxin than a nutrient.9 Like a toxin, it is metabolized almost exclusively in the liver, where it is converted into dangerous byproducts (such as excess lipids and uric acid).10-16 And, like a toxin, fructose has direct harmful effects (glycation) on tissues throughout the body, while performing no necessary nutritional function.17,18" www.lifeextension.com/magazine/2013/10/are-you-suffering-from-fructose-poisoning The common theme seems to be "high intake", which is not from someone who eats a couple apples a day, but someone downing high fructose corn syrup drinks like water. From what I just read, the amount of fructose in an apple that weighs 100 grams is only 6 grams of fructose. So, I eat an apple a day, and I have a half of a banana and one strawberry in my protein shake, that is only 10 grams of fructose. As I said earlier, fructose could be a "toxin", but at that level, maybe it could be beneficial due to hormesis.

@Nyklot439 3 жыл бұрын
@@Taptapfail Your statement has no clear meaning, what does it even mean to say "mechanic data that fits your claim...and the reality is that we don't see it in real life". So, are you telling me that the biochemical effects that are associated with fructose only happen in controlled experiments, and that they don't happen outside of these controlled experiments. This would be bizarre, since it suggests that effects of measurement whether on humans via blood tests or other biochemical markers, or the testing on animals is somehow altering their biochemistry. Though in all fairness, I don't think you meant that. I just think you did not articulate your point clearly. If I steel man your position, I think what you attempting to say is that the breakdown of fructose into dangerous byproducts and the glycation that results from that does not seem to negatively impact health like the anti-fructose advocates claim. If that is the case, then you should carefully read what I wrote, since I hypothesized about a possible hormetic curve associated with fructose in which the amounts that a person would obtain from eating fruits in a normal diet could be beneficial, as opposed to the amount that comes from the massive ingestion of high fructose corn syrup foods and drinks.

Vs slow moves on long reps, I mean about the actual movement on the rep. I have seen some videos of some famous bodybuilders, and they use a fast and short range of motion on their reps, and this is kind of confusing because it actually works for them (?) thanks

Am I reading this wrong or the study you linked actually states that the overfeeding with fat is better than overfeeding with fructose? "...Conclusion: Fat and fructose both increased IHCL, but fructose increased, while fat decreased, VLDL triacylglycerols...".

This is ridiculous, people are eating fast food and drinking 5-10 sodas a day. You hardly ever see videos or public warnings about fast food and soda yet we have seen an uptick in “doctors” attacking meat, fruit, and suspiciously any food that is natural.

A thought that has been of the back of my head is that groups like "saturated fats" or "fructose" etc aren't really that bad, but the combination is what's deadly. Like if the result isn't the sum of its parts. This makes sense?

Thank you for clearing this up. I eat grapes and apples every day. If people haven’t realized yet, there aren’t many naturally occurring foods that are bad for you. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Please don't think I'm advocating the anti fruit school of thought, and I can't remember the source of the study but I remember some study suggesting that If one eats ONLY 100 % fructose ALONE, as the primary carb macro then liver problems MIGHT occur. As the ratio of adding only ten percent of glucose in a matching caloric amount of sugar makes this problem not occur, but still stops the spike in blood sugar, if one buys into insulin spiking as a problem, as I don't. Yes, I've learned a lot about nutrition from Layne, I eat a lot of vegetables and fruit in multiple variations and have lost 100 pounds in 13 months and have about fifteen to go for optimum body fat percentage and or optimum level of viceral fat. I don't believe added sugar is poison, but avoid it like the plague because fruit, vegetables and whole grains provide vitamins, minerals, fiber, and micronutrients, that cookies, cokes and candy are fully devoid of. What's with the pro saturated fat club? Take any morbid obese individual,( like me thirteen months ago) and put him or her on the healthiest diet, with excessive calories and they'll become less healthy. Conversely put them on a calorie deficit with an inferior diet and as they lose weight they'll get healthier.

If you eat copious quantities of fructose, you begin to get a fatty liver. This is easily achieved by eating a processed food diet high in Fructose corn syrup and sugar and overconsumption of calories. Humans seek out fat, salt and sugar. It's a survival mechanism. Fiber in fruit acts as a net trapping the Fructose in fruit, which is expelled from the human body at a high percentage. Simply not eating the fructose achieves the same net effect, but both fiber and carbohydrates are both recognized as nonessential nutrients. Will you die from eating fruit faster than DNA breaking down due to aging, probably not. The problem comes in when you juice the fruits. One cup of orange juice requires somewhere between 2 and 4 oranges. At four cups of fruit juice you have consumed close to 16 fruits worth of fructose, and you probably won't feel very full. Eating whole fruit protects your body from the harmful effects of fructose, because the fruit fibers prevents your body from absorbing most of the fructose that is available in the fruit, and it makes your digestive system empty. You don't get sick when eating fruit because your body has evolved to expel it before it can cause you harm. Better to feed the fruit to the pigs, then eat them. Their bodies can digest that stuff and they are much healthier when eating it, and we tend to be healthier when we eat healthy animals.

I would also point out that Alcohol does the same thing to the liver as Fructose. Yes the effect of fructose is smaller than Alcohol, but the effect is exactly the same when the dose of fructose is extremely high. The Alcohol is just significantly more poisonous and will kill you before you've had a chance to become fat through its consumption. Alcohol is the speed-run for Fatty Liver disease, but if you do not consume Alcohol in high enough quantities your liver will repair itself. I believe this was your argument for why fructose is safe to eat, "Your liver fixes itself, if you don't eat to much." The problem with Alcohol is addiction, which is exactly why sugar is a problem now. We can consume much higher quantities of sugar before we die from the associated problem, which is exactly why so many in the world that have adopted a western high processed food diet are overweight, and obese. Will fruit kill you? No, but if you concentrate it, extract it, and add fructose to everything you eat 3 to 5 times a day year round, it most certainly will.
