agreed.. both explanations makes sense. 1st theory: I-dle could just brush it off as that's the interpretation so that they don't get in trouble. 2nd theory: I-dle could just put a lot of easter eggs in the mv and Case File G so that Neverland that knew them as 6 gets that they did it for themselves, Soojin, and us Nevies 😊

I hope the last Shuhua be Soojin in a mask. It would be amazing! Since Gidle are five there have been a lot of double meanings that someone who is fan of Soojin easily can identify as references. I find this side of them very interesting and very intelligent bc although she (Sj) is not present formally she is still part of the group in some way. Some songs can be intrpreted as song dedicated to her. Soyeon in an interview reffered to Soojin as a Main Character. Another example: imagine Soojin's present and put some of (G) I-dle last album's songs: Vision, Revenge, Doll, Super Lady they matched her in some way or another

About half my theories were covered by this video. I agree with the majority of it, thank you for your commentary! Personally, I saw a few things not covered: 1. In the hallway, when 'Investigator Shuhua' steps away to create 6 people, the Shuhua leaning against the wall has Soojin's hair style. 2. The 'Victim Shuhua' in white laying on the floor is surrounded by photos and evidence folders, as well as a cigarette dish. On a box, under a glass of liquor, lies what looks to me like a yearbook. All were false accusations used to attack Soojin's behavior during her middle school days. The white outfit is reminiscent of Soojin's outfit in her 'Black Forest' MV. 3. At the end of the MV when Shuhua unwraps, she is unblemished and has a defiant stare, an allusion to Soojin's comeback. She stayed strong and made a solo debut despite the criticism. 4. the man's hands who attack 'Victim Shuhua' is in MY opinion either a represeantation of Cube Entertainment, or the Netizens who attacked Soojin. Neither had valid reasons to make her a victim, but I-Dle have been constantly fighting for her since their Tomboy comeback. The room is made up to look like an corporate office, not a living room. 5. Each item used by the I-Dle members is a metaphor for how they fight for Soojin: a pen representing lyrics in their songs, a guitar representing the music they create, a match representing the iBurn album, and gasoline representing their willingness to fan flames rather than try to snuff them out. 6. Lastly, since Tomboy, at least one member wears a mole under their eye somewhere to show their support for Soojin. In this case, 'Victim Shuhua' has it in the correct spot as Soojin naturally does. - OT 6 forever. -

When I first saw the MV I immediately thought of Soojin but at first I had the theory that Shuhua and other Shuhua were the same person in different periods of time. But when Case File g came out I was so shocked because they were six! Now more than ever I think it’s about SJ. It’s such a risky move but this makes me appreciate Gidle even more. When a member leaves a group the others always pretend like they never existed and I know that they are probably forced by their companies but it’s still so jarring. Gidle is different, they will never let people forget what happened and I respect it so much. I don’t know if it’s possible for them to reunite one day but I really hope so.

To me Last Easter night has strong symbolism towards Soojin. Easter is the time that jesus was killed unjustly in the context of the bible. He didn't do anything wrong except threaten the authority of the government. From what I understand, the consensus is that Soojin was wrongly accused, possibly out of jealousy or insecurity- She threatened her accusers and had to leave although she was innocent. I don't think idle are saying Soojin is a saint but rather she never tried to hurt anyone. Like Jesus, someone is said to be a terrible person when in reality it isn't the case. But now she's back metaphorically from the dead. The whole saga could be seen like an 'Easter night'

I think the revenge it is not specific to Soojin, but to all member. Of course, Soojin got the most suffer. Many people think that (G)I-dle career will going to end. The went long hiatus, Minnie go back to Thailand, Yuqi go back to China. Now, with their success career, they revenge. It is like "Mic Drop" from BTS.

Thank you for your interpretation of the MV. I believe that Soyeon intended for both theories to be applicable. Remember, for many people, this may be their first introduction to (G)I-DLE, so the MV has to be decipherable by the general public. For the fans with knowledge of Soojin and the group's rebirth, the hidden easter eggs provide a deeper, more personal meaning.

As Soojin is found not guilty, I believe it was an exaggerated conclusion for a bad childhood decision at worst and even about that I was very doubtful and turned out that Soojin was even a victim instead. Even if she wasn't no adult should suffer their childhood/teenage mistakes, especially by losing their hard earned careers and life work. That's just simply cruel. Even if they make mistakes people can change growing up, get mature and if as adults they repeat the same or worse mistakes only then they should be judged and punished accordingly. A similar thing seems to have happened later with Kim Garam and Le Sserafim too. As far as I know both women seem to be innocent and even turned out to have been the victims of bullying instead, later with these harsh decisions they have been victimized even more, even when they have not proven guilty in the eyes of the law. Industry should learn from these things and think twice or even more before cutting the ties irreversibly. It's just not right.

Even though revenge is over But it's not the result that many people expected... For me, even though I hope... I know that it will never be the same... And at this time, I would like to view it like the last line in the case file, that when violence occurs and has been ignored for a long time ... violence will continue to occur without end ... until our mind can let go of it. There's only one thing in the MV that I don't get and that I've never seen anyone explain. I'm talking about that scene where Yuqi's walking in the hall, Minnie bumps into her and gives a nasty look, then Yuqi falls to the ground with a lifeless expression while Soyeon just sorta stands by and watches the whole thing. It just happens and isn't referenced again. Given the storyline is all about "Soojin" being abused and the others coming together to save her, that one moment just stands out as not fitting. I've asked so many people in the (G)I-DLE fan groups I'm in what they think about that scene, but NO ONE really has an answer. Maybe people here will... or at least have a theory.

I have read a lot of people talking about it. You might have noticed that the time stops in that moment. It might be a reference to their hiatus and their state of shock about the whole situation. We see Miyeon and Soyeon looking around, while Minnie and Yuqi are clearly upset/running away. Soyeon and Miyeon had to, as the (Korean) leader and oldest member keep the ship afloat. Minnie, Yuqi and Shuhua went home, while Miyeon and Soyeon kept working when everything was happening. Soyeon with her solo and Miyeon as MC, then later her solo. (I know Yuqi and Minnie also did a lot while "home") All the while Shuhau "doubles" and just stands still watching them. Could be a reference that they both (Shuhua and Soojin) felt powerless at the time. But in the case of it not being about Soojin. I think the scene makes less sense, if we just follow the story. Mostly because we don't know when in the timeline it is. I mean, Yuqi gave Minnie that look because she ran into her and didn't apologize... Or maybe Minnie represents Cube running from their responsibility, and Yuqi's look is because Cube said, she could release a solo, but only two songs, no album, no Korean promo and she had to film the MV for Bonnie & Clyde herself..

@@PiaChanx You know that makes a lot of sense. I remember a time when Yuqi just booked herself like crazy in China and had a little panic attack at one point and said some scary things online. Minnie was the one who was like "Call me now. Call me now!" because she couldn't contact Yuqi herself due to Chinese internet security. So I think you're right. Minnie and Yuqi are busying themselves but it becomes too much for Yuqi.

⁠@@GleeChan There is need to be something MORE about this mv. Because in the hallway scene if you look carefully to the room that Minnie left, yellow lights come from it. I assume Minnie tried to burn the room. I guess Yuqi is shocked cuz probably it’s her room. Idk why Minnie did this but I have a theory that maybe there is a men in Yuqi’s room that we never seen in mv (Yuqi’s bf) and Minnie loved him too or he’s dating both of them. So Minnie try to take revenge by killing him. I guess they stopped the fire before it burns all of the room but Yuqi’s bf is still burned in there. At the beginning of the video, Minnie is just arriving at the hotel. I think she came to the hotel with the intention of taking revenge from Yuqi’s bf. And another thing is, Soyeon is probably figured out that Yuqi’s bf and Minnie has someting between them. (remember that she found a match in stairs. She probably found another one in Yuqi’s room.) I guess she was not just the one who cleaned Shuha’s room, she cleaned Yuqi’s room too and found the body. (minnie killed him.) (and the match. there is a scene that Soyeon going through the garbage. She probably looked for the match she found in Yuqi’s room beacuse she wanted to compare with the one she found in stairs.) When we are closed to the ending of the mv we had seen Soyeon dragged a garbage bag. It’s Yuqi’s bf and Soyeon get rid of it. If you ask me how did i come to this conclusion, we know that 1 person died (shuhua’s abusive bf) and 1 person got injured (shuhua/soojin). If this both happened at shuhuas/soojin’s room. Then who is the person that Soyeon dragged in the hallway? It’s how i think that. (Soyeon get rid of Yuqi’s bf nicely ig because she had blood in her face and no one find his body.) I’m not good at english that much so, sorry about that.

The story is not lineal, so I guess in that scene detective Shuhua is trying to get how things happened and who are who. So they are in the same building. Yuqi is a singer (maybe famous or in the way to be). Minnie is a star actress: She is the clue. Yuqi helps Shuhua and thinks she killed the abuser and panicked. So Minnie is in charge: she knows Miyeon and that maid Soyeon( Is SY....? ), the three of them act like a Swiss Clock. Minnie's role is very interesting bc has the power of cleaning every evidence (with fire), she makes that nasty look to Yuqi bc she knows that Yuqi's future is done. Now think ab Yuqi's role in which she helped a friend and bc of that her own life is about to be totally ruined: so common that it hurts Now every theory sounds correct: the building as the industry, the abuser as we the public, Soojin, the way they face hard times together ( Miyeon acting like nothing happened but that pen omg) and everybody so satisfied inside. And the Fire. Not only the fire that burns but also renew and purify

I know I'm a little late but I do want to offer an explanation if it helps In their "behind the scenes" video of the music video, minnie comes running out of a room and bumps into yuqi, who then looks into the room minnie ran away from and looks horrified My guess is that it was the victim's room and they saw the fight between the victim and the abuser, which would explain how and why yuqi ran into the room and attacked the abuser with her guitar and the members all gathered to get rid of him even though most of them seemingly had no contact with each other prior

Because it’s human nature to speculate? And many people care about what happened? Also, the topic is controversial so nobody will ever come out and straight up tell you it’s about Soojin even if it was. This is k-pop, idols aren’t always free to say whatever they want but they can express themselves through their art (music, videos etc.) You say that people assume stuff, but how can you not? They put her date of birth in the video. And the five of them play six people. If you want to take the mv at face value more power to you but subtext exists.

Appreciating the straightforward story and analyzing the mv for a second meaning aren't mutually exclusive concepts. If we're wrong and there is no second meaning, there are no negative consequences. If you're wrong and there is one, you're not appreciating everything the artist wanted to deliver. So, basically, live and let live. We're still promoting the mv, the group, and soojin all at once. There is no downside.
