@@Random-sk6hm ranked choice is basically when you specify a first choice, second choice, third choice, etc. for each position when voting. More specifically, all the first choice votes get counted, and if nobody has 50% of the vote they eliminate the person with the least votes and for anybody that had that person as their first choice the second choice will be counted and added to the totals. They repeat this process until one of the candidates has at least 50% of the votes.

it doesn't fit our current society. one of the questions in this video talked about how this is a misinformed generation. ranked-choice voting is contingent on the fact that our society is informed about candidates and their policies. many citizens today follow parties or who they see on TV most rather than researching more about them. so, given the current state of our union, the US is in no shape to adopt this system. while initially, yes, it does seem appealing, it wouldn't fit the uninformed demographic that is present in the US today.

yes, I definitely feel like population size is a bit of an excuse not to consider healthcare. In a country the size of America I think it's probably better that you don't try to force people to fend for themselves, because with a larger population that's already going to be the case more so than in smaller countries.

This was such a wonderful and fruitful conversation until Chandler says "As Someone Not Quite As Dark As You" to Kerastin. Clearly he's dealing with colorism; but, more importantly, they're the same complexion! Oh, bless his heart. As a side note, this conversation is 1000s of times better than the recent women conversation. I was so annoyed by the amount of times they had to reset the conversation because those ladies failed to not allow each other to finish their thoughts. Those women can learn so much from these young Americans.

Was waiting to see if anyone caught that .. such a shame to see that intelligent and courageous boy caught up in self-hate the way he exposed himself to be.. I'm a registered independent and as us black people are not a monolith, I love to see the outliers in the community who aren't afraid to deviate from the status quo. However, his comment to that girl who's literally HALF a tone darker than him (if that) revealed that he's not just a free-thinker, but he's also taking on the beauty standards of his newly adopted political cohorts. He clearly thinks his ideological similarities with them extend to his phenotype which is, frankly, cringy.
@williammckinney5213 Жыл бұрын
I think it remained a thoughtful conversation even after him mentioning skin tones. I don’t remember it being hateful though, so I am confused there. I was more confused because to me he looked slightly darker even, but really I don’t know and don’t know how it matters. What is colorism and how does it expose him as being self hating? I don’t understand how him saying that he’s not quite as dark makes him self hating. I would greatly appreciate if it could be explained to me.
