Ali Hazelwood is my favorite example of a second chance author. I DESPISED The Love Hypothesis. I did not get the hype at all, could not understand what people loved about it. Then I read Stuck on You and hated that even more. So I was like, ok that’s it I’m done. But thennn everyone was talking about Love, Theoretically, how it was the best AH yet blah blah, so I decided to give her one more chance…nothing else I’ve read by her has been below a 4 star. I can’t even say what specifically is different or what changed, but I am now an AH fan for life.

this makes me rethink my refusal to try ali hazelwood again after love hypthesis. like you I thought it was SUPER overhyped but I may need to give love theoretically a chance

I had the same experience! Totally despised The Love Hypothesis and swore off Ali Hazelwood until I got enough fomo to try out Love Theoretically…and I’ve now read everything she’s published except Bride (but I check my library hold status daily 😅)

Absolutely hated Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell but decided to give her a second chance and read Fangirl. Fangirl is the book i read to get out of a reading slump, I just love it. This crazy too, because I read Carry On and couldn't understand the hipe!

Hi chandler, I love this kind of videos! I’m working on my own giving authors a second chance reading vlog and I was sooo surprised! I thought Sarah Adam’s could never right something I’d like…but I was wrong 😮

@@riclynsherman2117 ooh i'll read almost anything with good character dynamics. i'll admit fantasy is hard for me to get into, but if the characters keep me engaged, i'm all in! i just finished the simon snow series for this exact reason lol and i was needing something new, thank you for the suggestion

such a shame about well matched, because the FMC’s age and age of her child is pretty unique but they both suck. I realize I must refuse to give second chances bc I can’t think of any 🫠
