She is definitely not, unfortunately she based relationships on Looks instead of the person underneath unlike Elphaba and Fiyero. Plus given her family, it most likely Glinda doesn’t know what real genuine love is and hasn’t found that due to her selflessness.

Not really loving a specific man doesn't equal with being a secret lesbian.😅 Glinda is rather a narcissist or at least an egocentric person. She's happy when everything goes the way she wants.

Right . She was very shallow, especially prior to being friends with Elphaba so that is why she didn't have deep feelings for Elphaba

TBF, both Elphaba and Glinda are very different people in the books. They're gay AF, but Glinda's a mess obsessed with image and Elphaba is low-key b0mbing warehouses and is in general a legit anarchist with an "ends justify the means" mentality. I'm just upset that the musical straightwashed and white washed most of the characters, I still love it, but it does leave someone to be desired as an adaptation.

Please research source material before making comments like this, the musical is pretty well known to have straightwashed and white washed the books it's based on. Glinda and Elphaba had a very queer relationship in the book where they repeatedly say that they love each other and kiss when Elphaba leaves Glinda in the Emerald City.

answer: because people love to interpret and relate to characters in different ways, you might not personally perceive which is fine, you can still enjoy the film otherwise 🤷♂️

Because in the Wicked novels, she's an EXTREMELY closeted character. 1) She goes numb when being flirted with or kissed by boys. 2) She only ever shared tragically passionate goodbye kisses with Elphaba. 3) She purposely married a useless (old man) baronet that was always away on trips, so she'd never have to see him or sleep with him. He's so old, in fact, that his "berries" didn't even work. 4) She'd either get slightly jealous or even visibly upset when people claim to know "Her Elphie" better than she did. 5) And finally, even when it's been YEARS after the "melting", Glinda has nothing but wet dreams about Elphaba, that both comfort and torture her. Lol, nah but for real, she just keeps dreaming about being with Elphaba back at Shiz again, holding hands, running around together and staring at Elphie's smile with "longing" eyes. Apparently, people think that's all normal straight behavior. 🤷🏽♀️

@lreneewell91542 күн бұрын
In the musical/movie, they were both meant to be straight. Glinda's relationship with Fiyero being the way it was was due to her being EXTREMELY shallow, not lesbian. Also, the song Thank Goodness was about her having complex feelings about her choice to work alongside Madame Morrible and becoming a public figure because it meant that she had to compromise her friendship with Elphaba, lead the people of Oz in spreading propaganda about her despite being her best friend and knowing Elphaba's truth. That has nothing to do with sexuality

I mean, in the book it is somewhat implied that Glinda at least has feelings for Elphaba. Doesn’t mean that has to be canon to the movies, and even if it is it doesn’t have to be important enough to be a plot point, but I think this theory still deserves more than to be dismissed as people just looking for lgbtq characters And to add to this, let people’s headcanons be whatever they want. As someone who has them having feelings for each other as a headcanon, I hate to break it to you, but we don’t always think they have to be true yk?? Like, let us fantasize by ourselves thanks

why must everything be queer, we're being told to not point out someones sexuality but here you are trying to make fictional characters look gay. Just let them be already. Even in the musical they were portraid as best friends and fiyero is their love interest. Whats next? The wizard is also gay? I wont be surprised
@mauramcgovern18712 күн бұрын
??? The books are very queer though??? And the musical is based on the books??? The movie said it wanted to include more of the books in it than the OG musical, if that's through heavy queer subtext fine. Let's not pretend Elphaba wasn't written with heavy bisexual subtext, that her son doesn't have both a male and female love interest, and her granddaughter isn't dating a trans coded princess.
