Is Hasbro Really Slowing Down?: Marvel Legends, Star Wars, GI Joe & Transformers [Soundout12]

Part of the reason Marvel Legends comic figures have been so good this year is because movie figures require investing in all new sculpts. Without having to do that, Hasbro is able to afford better comic figures. I'm worried that when movie/show output increases, we might go back to Bucky Cap repaints again. As for Transformers, they were the one line that didn't really exceed demand in 2023 and have just about always been reliable the past 23 years. However, it's also fair to say that it's the line where Hasbro's cost cutting is really starting affect quality and value, and older figures are often better than their modern counterparts.

Hasbro strategy is to bury collectors in figures. I have no clue where I could fit another 100 figures. I'd rather pay more for higher quality figures that are produced less quantities.

*DISTRIBUTION SUCK!!!!!!! FOR 2023-2024* None of my Walmarts received wave 3 of the ROTJ 40TH figures Black Series (R2D2, Luke, Vader) None of my Walmarts received the retro Storm Shadow, Snake-Eyes, Crimson Guard, & Zartan wave. But I'm loving the retro card line so far

Since I always like hearing you talk about this stuff, here’s an idea for you for a future video: I would wait maybe a month or two before doing it because you never know what’s going to pop up but I’d love to hear you talk about the current state of Power Rangers from the toys, comics, and the shows. That and maybe compare how Sentai is doing with Power Rangers.

Power Rangers rn is basically just flopping harder than a fish out of water right now. Comics are ending, toys are becoming less popular because the show is, especially with the decline of Netflix as a general streaming powerhouse, the failed reboot, their presence literally sabotaging the one thing that could potentially drum up interest in the brand, which is by making Toku much more popular with more Sentai and KR releases. Add that onto Hasbro's current turmoil with failure after failure right now, and things are kind of messed up.

Marvel Legends might become the only hasbro line I actually collect, and I’ll only pick and choose for other lines. I love GIJCS, but there’s so much that being a completionist feels like a chore. But I’m trying to get caught up on ML, cause I’ve been very impressed with this comeback. I was a person who didn’t care about Plastic Free boxes but looking back, I realize how miserable they were. Didn’t even feel fun opening a new figure. Not sure how I feel about every line having the same packaging now though. I did like the unique-ness from each lines’ boxes, but I throw away the boxes anyway so it doesn’t really matter lol. Sorry if this was all over the place my mind is messed up from the heat 😭

1. How many versions of the characters people really want before stop buying? 2. The new shows and characters are bad and no one wants those figures. 3. Price is getting way to expensive because to many crap toy lines are driving up the overall price. 4. Most collectors shelves are full, they way over produced

agree i hope marvel legends focus on quality over quantity more unique sculpts, rerelease the hard to find figures or bafs as deluxe figures… but more figures like the new Odin, and more xmen 97 figures and street level figures as well.

I don’t think Releases have slowed down, but for hasbro what seems to be happening are all the fan channels or online only releases the quantity has been reduced significantly to the point that we are now seeing hard to find pre-orders which never happened in the past… alot of preorders specially sought after characters often than not sell out their pre orders in seconds from both mcfarlane and hasbro then they would restock the preorder numbers then sell out again. I guess they have now lower MOQ but for more sought after characters they get a second or third run, its the company protecting their bottom line but for in store releases i still see them being clearanced eventually. maybe next year we will see the balance of releases to settle down. But for third party or import companies they have become more aggressive with their releases. More new figures new preorders. I believe now all of this companies are focusing on the right market 30 to 50 year olds 😂

I think a lot of collectors are slowing down. They are jacking up the price over and over. I am being very selective of what I buy.

Hasbro claims that they listen to the fans and yet they keep making the same heroes over and over again, Im sick of spiderman over and over again lets get some other stuff that has History like the Teams; You have The Inhumans, The Guardians 3000 ans so forth

Remember there is always new folks getting into the line. A figure can be anyone's first and the secondary market sucks. But agreed characters like the Inhumans need some love.

I have almost stopped collecting legends because every fig is another spiderman or iron man ,captain america or wolverine ,all characters i dont like i collect monsters and villains so they never really make figs i want but that strange tales wave hit the spot even though i wont get them all .

I hope Hasbro cancels the nonsense that is the plastic free packing bad decision and goes back to having much needed plastic in the packing to go back to having mint in box figures then the current opening packaging bad decision
