Been a sub for ages and loved this interview with backstory I hadn't seen before, like some of the clips with your mum and the helmet day. I've always had so much respect for you because you're always wearing your helmet in your videos, which is a massive positive influence on your younger audience. The fact you thought it was embarrassing to wear a helmet all day in your youth illustrates the backwards thinking that is prominent in our vein culture. Would love to see a video of you revisiting this punishment today just doing normal mundane stuff like going to Woollies, highlighting the importance of safety, but this time doing with pride rather than embarrassment. Would also love to see a range of RWilly safety gear for kids, like pads and helmets etc. Probably a good venture for you which I don't see any action athletes doing. I only wish more pro skateboarders did the same. What someone is wearing doing a trick does not change how epic it is, nor the surface they land on. Pros are experts at falling, so there is not as much risk, but that small risk amplifies with a tricks intensity when consequences become dire. But most importantly pros have an audience, and so play a part of the culture of safety. If every pro of every action sport were seen protecting themselves, kids would pick on each other for NOT wearing safety gear.

Oh man, I've been watching action sports since the beginning of 2000s and honestly not even surprised that Travis calls this dude #1 action sports athlete today. He just does tricks no one even thought of doing back then. When I first saw this guy I couldn't believe his talent - for me its like he's doing all these stunts with such ease like it's a video game and not real life. His level of talent also reminds me of Dave Mirra
