@beastmodefrappe85394 жыл бұрын
@@josephujoestar7894 I know technically there is no "the one" because it's all a matter of choice and choosing that person everyday but Matthew did a video called "Is he the one?" (5 questions to ask to know for sure) and it's one of my favorite videos from his channel. That video kinda gives you a guideline on how to know if someone is the right one for you and I know that this will sound cliche but you will really feel it when the relationship you are in is a healthy one. I followed his advice on being happy with your own self first and not be needy or desperate to be with someone and when you meet someone and start to date, don't be too invested in the person until you are sure that he also wants a long-term commitment like you. Matthew always mentions on his video that you should know your worth and not settle for anything less than what you deserve but also not to have standards that are too high and unrealistic. I followed his advice on being playful and fun especially when talking to men when I was single because that's what draws them to you. I also followed his advice on being direct about what you want but not be a b*tch and scare men away. I know my partner right now is the right one for me because we get along well in most areas especially on our values and expectations in the relationship. It's not perfect (and never will be) but he is the type of person that knows how to be a man and never have to be told what to do. Being in a relationship is hardwork and working together as a team.. if the other person is giving his best to make the relationship work then that's a good sign you're with the right one.

THERE is such a thing as people YOU WILL NEVER GET OVER. Relationships can fail but the heart will always love who it wants. do yourselves a favor and just accept it. ITS OKAY to LOVE someone that it didn't work out with. LOVE is an empowering thing and you will neverrun out. Continue your life, meet new people, and LOVE for the sake of love.. it is such a waste of energy trying to convince yourself, it wasn't love, just to protect your bruised ego. If you met someone you can't get over, believe it or not you are luckier than most. Some people have and never will LOVE something so dearly. take care

I met a guy with whom we have almost everything in common. He has the personality of the guy I always dream of and he seems to be really into me. I just don't feel any sexual attraction though. It sucks because all my friends tell me I should give him a change, that he is perfect and that the attraction will build the more I interact with him. Still I can't help but thinking of one or two guys who were completely different from me and what I wanted BUT they gave the chills every time the came close to me from the first few meetings. It sounds so simple, but it is now that I realize that no matter what standards you have for a man, if there is no chemistry, there is nothing.

Amarina E. I'm a big believer in chemistry. but I know chics that don't care. so if sex and everything physical is important to you then that would be a deal breaker. I also know chics that are goldiggers..they could care less who they screw as long as they get money. chemistry means nothing to them.
@Princessmayamarie8 жыл бұрын
Amarina, Always keep an open mind. The love of my life was my best friend for 3 years and I had no physical attraction during those 3 yrs. He was the one guy I never got nervous around, or "butterflies". I was so comfortable with him from the very beginning, I never considered him as a "crush" or a "love interest", and then BAM! One day he kissed me and everything changed. Sometimes we don't even realize we are in love, because honestly, its one of those things where it has to happen to understand. If there is no chemistry with this guy now, then there is no need to force anything. Just let things happen naturally. I see nothing wrong with hanging out as friends and getting to know each other as people. At the very worst you have made a new friend! take care.

I have heard Matthew say in interviews that he is not sure about monogamy or marriage for himself, and after hearing his opening statement, that he doesn’t believe there is one person for each person, and that he believes there are literally thousands of people that could be the one for us, that solidifies the fact that he definitely should not ever get married. I hate to say that, and I don’t believe in marriage either, but if he literally thinks that there are thousands of people who could all give us the happiness that some people think just one person could, that’s a sure sign that that person is not a believer in marriage, which is in fact, a commitment to one person for the rest of their life. If there are thousands of people that could make him happy, why would he ever settle down with just one? It’s almost like he is saying he will just date until it gets boring or he’s not happy anymore, and go on to one of the other in the thousand-Mark group that could also make him just as happy. Weird concept. Especially from a person who is trying to help people find their one true love

Patti I am 56 and the idea of dating makes me want to stay in my cave. I never liked dating when I was young. The only thing that is pushing my mind into the idea of dating is as God is my witness I want sex before I die. I don't know how people say oh we are old it doesn't matter any more. I am not a hook up kind of gal so it kinds of limits my options.

Life tobelived I'm an ENFP personality type which means I want short-term dating. (Basically, if a man is not ready for marriage before dating it won't last long even if I have feelings.)
@lifetobelived91028 жыл бұрын
patti I looked up ENFP and I am the same except I was born the introvert version but I fall somewhere between introvert and extrovert now. Yes my true self is exactly that but I think i used to override myself and thought if I really care for someone that I could make it work. I came to the realization this is not true and I should go with my intuition. I don't want to get married again after my divorce but I definitely wouldn't be good at friends with benefits. A lot of women I know it works well for them but I don't think I am wired that way. I don't think there is anything wrong with being able to that but I would get attached and it wouldn't be good for me.

Very useful & entertaining. And the 5 question point goes both ways in asking of the girl too. Men know it too by same questions & answer. 1. Is she sexually appealing to the guy? 2. Is she willing to do/learn things out of comfort zone? (same way family/friends environments. Shyness etc.) 3. Does she stimulates intellect? (lots of guys get majorly turned off by lack of intellect for long term "living together" relationships) 4. At bad times, is she a complainer or helper in solving life's problem? (complainer makes a guy's life worse, supporter makes the guy feel relieved, & strengthens him to take on challenges) 5. Does she say she's not ready to commit? making promises, asking for more time to adjust to the idea? (Guys feel good when they give a girl time & understanding, & feel great when she finally come around & commit. but if she won't ever be ready to commit or into it. Guy will feel wasting time & at a stand still, held back in life. Often after breaking up, will the girl be more willing to commit/adjust when dating the next guy. As she learned that's what drove her last relation apart.) Just my 2cents additional tips/food for thought ;) Nice to see this guys teaching & helping women how to treat guys ;) Never forget couple is one team, one unit. You & him together facing life. I have someone, we fell for 1-3 it's mutual, and we're great at nr.4, we strengthen eachother in life, bonded as team. But I'll tell you nr.5 is a big problem. "If the guy isn't ready, he can't be right" so same goes "if the girl isn't (ever) ready she can't be right" & that's why we are just good friends ^^ moved on. Have someone in your life, or keep them out of your life, but never let them stand in the doorway, for they will be blocking traffic. I always loved that line ^_~ works for business relations too.

So tragically, my who I thought to be the love of my life, dumped me with no warning three weeks ago and proceeded to start dating my friend while we were still living together two days after. This is clearly a tough situation to work though (which I did not handle with much grace), and at first I didn't think I'd be able to get over it. Slowly, (or quite quickly - I can't be that weird mopey ex that still lives in the house) I've been making progress on my own. Watching this video (and a few others) has SERIOUSLY helped me make more progress. I'm sure you only think of your videos and advice as how to help women find and keep a man. But you are helping me realize that maybe it wasn't so perfect, and I can have the confidence to find someone else, and there will be another love of my life... or 6. Whatever, it's 2017. But honestly, from the bottom of my over-worked heart, I appreciate all of these - and you.

I’m 60 and still waiting. I met someone , went on a couple dates , then my son went in the ICU for a few months, so then we went on a couple dates after that, then he went in for hip surgery, and he got a terrible staff infection and has a pic line with liquid antibiotics, then we were going to go out but I fell down my icy flight of stairs and broke my wrist in 3 places and injured my tailbone! He came over and kissed me , and now I’m worried I have staph infection !! I’m scared 😱

I really enjoyed your video. The last one was a real eye opener. While in the relationship, I kept future forwarding. I naively believed that marriage would solve the issues. I think some of us, we want to make big decisions far too soon because we fall in love with potential, thinking the person will one day become the partner of our dreams. I didn't realize that I was in love with his potential, and not who he was until it ended. I realized that while I cared about this person very much, his over-dependence on me was draining. He needed to learn to take care of himself emotionally.

I don't believe in THE ONE either! Qualities that make you happy versus too many downsides. The same for him.

Good point Matthew. Why consent to the worst that a person who claims to love you, should do unto you? Love is not consenting. And not consenting to wrongful acts doesn't mean you love the person any less.

I mean, I understand what he's saying, but...you could meet someone who seems to check off everything on this list, but you don't have that indefinable thing called 'chemistry'. Or you could be with a person for years just because it's safe and comfortable, and this person could well be an amazing person but you don't love him with a burning passion.

Surprisingly, I totally agree with this guy. I just broke up with my boyfriend of 3 years and while I'm still questioning myself if I've done it right or wrong, watching this video has just confirmed that my decision was right.

1. Do you want to jump him? 2. Can he scuba dive? (Can he inhabit environments that are important to you for a period of time?) 3. Does he give you brainal? (Does with him make you grow? Does he bring out the best in you?) 4. Is he worth it at his worst? (The strength of a relationship is based on how two people operate when the chips are down.) 5. Does the relationship only work if you have to time travel? (Do you have to go forward in time when the person may have the qualities you are looking for or give you the commitment you are looking for?)

Yes thank you The one is a myth, a good person can have a decent fulfilling relationship with tons of different people (not multiple people just two people I can’t speak for that)

thank the lord for talking about that quote. I have seen too many woman use that as an excuse to be whatever they want to be. Though thats not growing at all. Like you said its narcissistic and its the wrong way. More people need to understand this. I tried to tell them but they just turn around do their little hand thing "oh I cant talk to you anymore, you are annoying, you are trying to change me.." like no?

1:03 very funny, but don't agree :)... I mean of course you shouldn't be completely repulsed by him, but extreme excitement right from the beginning is even a bad sign to me... it's like all the attraction is in your head and not based on the other person's personality and will die off once you get to know the other person better, whereas a small attraction has the potential to build on the other one's real personality over time which will then be lasting...
@Crystal1075 жыл бұрын
Point is, there needs to be SOME attraction, they don't have to look like a magazine model, just be attractive for your taste to a reasonable degree.
