The most common teams seem to be DoT, FuA(most popular), and Acheron. Traditional crit dps has fallen out of favor and we are now getting a new break effect dps and 2 break effect supports to allow more diversity in teams. They all 3 have some bleed over into other teams in some ways so the team building can be interesting.

He actually was in a gradual, more subtle way the thing is robin’s the best harmony support at this moment in star rail. And her energy regen mechanic, her ult damage mechanic and just her overall LOVES teammates that can put out frequent attacks, small or big numbers, different from the big-chunk-damage hypercarry does back in the day (Danheng IL and Jingliu being the prime example) Like sure they can still be used with her, but heck even a 4 star units but have mutiple turns and ways to proc her ult damage like March 7th gives better result than using Danheng IL Yes I did try use him again recently cause imaginary weak Apocalyptic shadow right? Dr Ratio + March 7th Hunt do it much easier, faster and efficient Him even with bis support (sparkle, bronya), still be lacking

Most people don't do sustainless stuff so the video is misrepresenting the general population of dhil players (not talkin shit about goat wyatt). People stopped playing him because future characters just do more for less, and are also just easier to play. He's still strong just as he always was but yeah that's the main reason why he fell out of the general eye of teams.

I was really grateful for DanIL for so long. Compared to certain dps nowadays, he literally never got a signature relic set, no true dedicated support (sparkle is the closest and didn’t come out until much later). He’s strong enough that I can still use him in some content but it does feel tough since he is SP negative but his damage is just ok compared to newer units. I don’t have many new dps aside from Boothill tho.

Imbibitor Lunae, Sparkle, Tingyun, Aventurine/Huohuo make the best hypercarry. Ruan Mei doesn't really fit in there.. Not only does sparkle provide a crap ton of buffs (around 145% more damage) but she also offers more skill points.

Well guess what, Sunday is coming. A huge buff for dps characters in 1.0-1.6 since all of them are hypercarry dps. It "might" make them on par with the 2.0-2.6 characters since Sunday's buff for skill and ult are all single target (all for the main dps). Meaning huge multipliers since the buffs are not distributed among allies, only to the main dps.

He actually was my first limited 5*. I admittedly only use him whenever there's an imaginary weakness nowadays, the enemy HP has been inflated so much that I'd rather not bruteforce (just not as pleasant). I think he still holds up well, I mean, my teams are E0S0 (I don't even have E6 Tingyun lmao) and I could 2 cycle against Kafka this time. He may not be the strongest anymore, but eh. The difference isn't really that significant for now. But I'll see tomorrow after getting Feixiao since I do have the premium FUA team, maybe I'll begin to feel the powercreep in the characters (and not just the bosses' HP).

Coming from a f2p E0S0 DHIL main in 1.x, is he a top 2 dps? Well not anymore. But is he still a good dps? Fuck yeah. Yeah he aint doing Acheron or FF/Boothill in Superbreak team level of damage but he's doing plenty fine. Last banner i lost 2 pitites and only got him E1 but it was a decent jump in damage, planning to E2S1 him eventually and call it done for vertically investing in him. Sure, he has a tough competition in Ratio as another imaginary dps but I still think its going to be a while before DHIL truly falls off. My main reason for that is, we don't have a proper bis relic set for him yet: 4pc Musk is just too old and generic, Barring sparkle, theres no aid to him while all other play styles have 2 or more units that make them work as well as they do: DoT got Kafka, HuoHuo and RM; Superbreak Got RM and HMC; FUA got Robin, Topaz and to a good extent Aventurine (he deals plenty good personal damage). All in all, DHIL is still plenty strong. Not top 2 or even top 5 strong but strong enough to clear all endgame content even without E2 and if someone can't do it with that level of power then honestly its a skill issue.

I think the issue is that the only real supports for Crit DPS are Sparkle and Bronya. Other archetypes have been getting all the new shiny supports, and thus, Mihoyo buffs them in end game modes (like the recent buffs for Break and FuA teams). Yea you can argue that RM can still support them, but who are we kidding? She makes break teams go through the roof, and Robin acts similarly for FuA teams even if shes got a lot of universal buffs + Topaz also exists and does good damage herself. THAT along with the fact that they get tailor made buffs in new end game content means they'll clear more easily, but that doesnt mean my E1 Jingliu is suddenly powercrept when she still clears 99% of ice weak enemies in 0-1 cycles (f*ck aventurine boss battle).

I think DHIL is still very much worth playing and is a very powerful and worthwhile Unit. His sheer damage is still impressive even to this day, he just has more competition for top damage dealer now, and when your competition relies on either being a ludicrously destructive Demigoddess of Nihility (Acheron, who basically functions as a Hunt, Destruction AND Erudition Pathstrider all in one package) a planet destroyer (Firefly, whose whole damage potential relies entirely on the Super Break Mechanic that was basically tailor made for her) and the greatest single target damage dealer yet (Feixiao, 'nuff said) then it really just shows how powerful he was to begin with. I already have Acheron and Aventurine both at E2S1 while DHIL is E0S0, so he's definitely gonna become my priority for this Patch.

DHIL is a weird case, its just that other than sparkle he didnt ggot any support or a good 4 piece set (other than the cowboy one) so he is using Tyngyun and HuoHuo for energy but not a crazy synergy like robin or Moze/March 7 type of deal, its like blade(but much less ofc) in the sense of its a forgotten archeotype and he gets punished very quickly. At the other hand, look at Ratio he has new toys every patch lmao. I apreciate the video of danny, he was my first dps :D But i need to say, just get him to E2 and he gets online very quickly holy sht. And everyone is like focused in getting Eidolons for DPS that really i think the only HOL SHT ones are DHIL and Acheron E2 the rest are not necesary/just being comfort, instead get a few eidolons on the harmony 5 stars and congratulations you got exodia, you could place any dps unit and it will do half a milion damage.

Honestly, 0 cycling is more about math and strategy that the DPS's strength (whether it's builds including LCs, very particular stats breakpoints, where and how to use each ability, etc). I'd assume even Arlan can 0 cycle with E1 Robin (though maybe not against Kafka and her lightning res) honestly. I think they can both do it with E0 Robin too, it's just more difficult. I do have her E1 myself so I can't test it out though.

I love Imbibitor. Haven’t stopped playing him since the day he was released. Maybe not the new shiniest toy but does the job well. He was fine with Bronya and some planning. Very cozy with Sparkle, and Aventurine. Got him and his LC from the first banner. Pulled his external eidolon Sparkle when she was released. And his E1. That tasty E2 was very bitterly lost (it turned out to be an E2 Bailu instead 🫣) but I’m getting that on the next rerun for sure.
