Is intel socket 775 still usable? Part 1 - Introduction

Nice! I have several socket 775 computers. My main system is a Lenovo Thinkcentre M57p now updated with a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550S which is the low powered version of Q9550. I have this system maxed out with 4 GB DDR2 800mhz and WIN 11 on a ssd

These chip sets perform to relatively a 3rd or 4th gen core i3 processor, minus some instruction sets, that hurt it for modern gaming applications. Max frame rates in 1080P is roughly the same as the i3 at roughly 30 frames a second, and that is when its paired with a GPU such as the Nvidia quadro P2000, or AMD W7100

Thanks some good info there! Yes I expect this will be more for older games but will try some of the free online ones that do not stress system too much!

@@computerrefurbishment9748 it will play modern online games like Dead By Daylight. But not popular modern online games like Fortnite. SSE 4.2 and AVX are 2 very important instruction encoders when it deals with 3D rendering short cuts that need C++ instruction compression

@@computerrefurbishment9748 yeah fully built 6GB RAM, 120GB SSD, Nvidia Quadro P2000 GPU, Monitor, keyboard and mouse. Sells for $180 U.S.D over here in the states. Its the affordable banger for grand theft auto 5 RP with Mserver off of steam. The other thing to note the SSD is double the speed of the 800 or 1066Mhz system ram in virtualization mode. So as long as system ram is configured in 4GB dual channel. You can set up windows virtualization for 12GB and the system will run faster than it ever did in its time period.
