sooo this week I decided to make a bit of a different video. Firstly, bc I have a bit of a bigger video planned in a few weeks and secondly bc I'll post another 'lookbook'-ish thing later this week so I wanted to try out a new video format that wouldn't take as long to both produce and edit. Besides that, the whole topic of being influenced on a daily basis, not necessarily bc I actually want what I'm seeing but bc I want the context aka the life this product is presented in, is a topic that has been on my mind for a veeery long time. So I thought: 'what better way to get the discussion going than to just make a video on it?', and thats what I did here. Gotta be real tho, I started shark week the day I filmed this so I feel like I seem a bit groggy which I do apologize for, but I promise I'll be my usual energy filled self next time! Granted Emma, Bella, and Kendall’s style is not my personal style, but I feel like a lot of their “fits” are just clothes. Like it’s just a top and a pair of pants, as opposed to something that took thought and creativity like bestdressed. There’s nothing wrong with throwing on a top and pants and calling it a fit, but I feel like people hype them up wayyyy too much when they’re wearing something super basic that on someone less attractive (or not as skinny) no one would take a second look at. Anyways, great video as usual! You’ve been coming out with lots of bangers recently and I’m so here for it!

I agree! people didn't like the 'is it a fit or is she just skinny' convo bc it was like skinny shaming, but personally I'm not judging these girls for being...too beautiful and fit lol it's just the fact that if I wore a cropped baby tee and a low rise denim maxi skirt it wouldn't be glamorous bc my belly and love handles would be hanging out lol. they look great bc most people want their bodies. bestdressed is of course skinny and beautiful as well but she definitely puts effort into the looks

Right? I think a big way to answer: “is this a fit?” is to imagine a middle-aged woman with a regular body wearing it. Is it still aesthetic or interesting? And out of these, I think BestDressed is the only one with fits I’d notice outside a curated post. In fact, some of her outfits on an older woman would be an insanely cute fit, like that fur trimmed coat.

I love this video concept and you bring out a really interesting point. We are often drawn to ppl bc of the lifestyle the live and bc we desire to be like them in some way. It’s important to keep that in mind as we envelope ourselves in social media each day. Love this :)

I mean social media in a way is what tv commercials used to be, nowadays it’s so easy to be critical towards a commercial but seeing someone you look up to using a certain product, is so much harder to view in a critical light! Something I love about the more simple fits in this video is that they’re easy to emulate and very wearable for someone who lives in a small town or suburb where even wearing jeans to school/ out and about versus leggings/ sweats can be interpreted as dressy or “different.” Style is so so conformist in so many places and dressing “basic” can be seen as “out there” if you simply pick a different font of basic than everyone else.

I love and take inspiration of Matildas style. Maybe mostly because I also live in scandinavian country, and love effortless, clean and simple outfits. With simple I mean natural colours, soft looking fabrics. Little details, but not over the top. Also she carries soft femininity in her fits, which I love.

This video is so entertaining I love that your mic is attached to a duck!!You’re making a really good point that we do in fact tend to want a person’s lifestyle so we tend to like everything they do. But I have to disagree with Emma and Matilda tbh because I think they’re very similar in terms of simplicity, just completely different styles. I myself like Emma’s style better, and I think what makes Matilda look so cool is often times just her hair and makeup / honestly her facial structure in general. But also her tanned skin, she’s just gorgeous and fits the current beauty standards more than Emma. That’s just my pov on that :) I obviously love Ashley sm!!

As to the UGG situation: I'm wearing my OG black UGGS as we speak. I wore off-brand UGGs in HS (05-09), thrifted a pair of "real ones" in college (which my cat pissed on so I threw them away lol), then in 2018 replaced those with a brand-new pair of black, medium height OG UGGS... and I have worn them EVERY winter since. I will forever shamelessly wear these things bc they're seriously so comfortable. Now. I purchased the original style AND I purchased them new because I knew I didn't want something that was going to go out of trend or going to wear out for a long time. I have somewhat considered the platforms, however, because a different height would be nice, and I'm 5'1" so I've been wearing platforms for EVER lol. I also kinda love how ugly they have always been seen to be, despite their popularity at various times lol. I'll just wait till they go out of trend and I'll buy a pair secondhand that someone wore once ;)

I've always prided myself in not being all that influenced by influencers on Instagram until I found this Parisian girl and became completely obsessed with her (wanting the same jewelry, same piercings, same clothes, same every day matcha) so this video kind of pulled me back down to earth a bit because we often really do want material things because they have been marketed as mandatory to fit a lifestyle or even just a certain vibe. and, ofc, this was such a fun watch ^^

Most of these outfits are just about the pretty privilige. A lot of them look... almost raggedy. Like the Boebers stepping out looking like homeless people. There's nothing wrong with casual and leasure.. but it just look sloppy. Tbh. I'm also really sick of all the muded, neutral colors. I'm Scandinsvien and I see enough of ut. The thing that makes Matilda and Ashley stand out amongst the others is that they ACCESSORIZE. It makes such a big difference to add a jacket, necklace, tights, even how you style your hair VS wearing the clothes off the rack as is without putting any effort into it. Ashley has truly elevated her style so much since she left KZbin and I’m living for it. Every outfit she post’s definitely feels like she took the time to piece each item together and it pays off every time 😮‍💨🫶🏼

Yessssss an hour ago???? Thank god lol Okay also. I got my first pair of uggs when i was 13 and i held onto them until literally last year (im almost 29 now) so i got a pair of bearpaws to replace them (just wasnt the same). THEN the mini ugg came out and i fell in love all over again. That photo of bella has me in a chokehold because i know how I would style it (darker colors), i just need it to get warmer 😩😩😩 i will keep these uggs probably for 15 years like i did my other ones and will continue to buy them ☺️

I really do think that a baby tee/basic tee + jeans are really not a fit. Is more bc and it girl is wearing it that it looks “good”. Another example is the long black kendall dress, that is really basic to me.
