Is it bad to wear your sunglasses all of the time? In this video, I will discuss the pros and cons of wearing your prescription glasses and if wearing your glasses or contact lenses frequently can affect your eye health.
If you are prescribed glasses for distance or reading, use them. Trying to read without reading glasses will simply strain your eyes and tire them out. Using glasses won’t weaken your vision or lead to eye disease.

i did it last week when some lady decided to walk around the gym locker room naked. I didnt want to see that so i took my glasses off. Having a bad astigmatism sure came in handy that day

I would be careful on the amount of time you plug for things. 4 times you told me to stay to the end of the video, 3 times to comment about some question, and 2 times to like and subscribe. Once of each of those things is fine, but I would have left after 1 minute if I was a consumer

24/7 for me. I have astigmatism. My 3rd year this month. Just got a stronger lense on my right eye and man it makes me feel weird...so blurry with them on lol. It's only been a few days

Another thing to notate is depending on how wide your lens is you might not be using your eye muscles to look completely left to right which will in turn cause those muscles to weaken.

To be honest that might be true. Specifically it might be true for when you’re looking up or down since most glasses lenses are shorter with some old school ones being a bit bigger.

This is pretty sage advice. However you should've mentioned that if your taking a bath or shower don't wear your glasses while you're doing that. Or if you're washing your face. I do wear my glasses full time. I have trouble seeing things in the distance but I can read things fine. She prescribed progressive lenses so I wouldn't have to take them off to read.

I have the same issue with not being able to see things in the distance clearly. My doctor had decided to put bifocals in my prescription. It was so I wouldn't have to take them off to read. Mine was one of the progressive lenses by the way.

@@melissacooper4282 In recent years and since you can have bifocals without that noticeable line through them more and more young people are now wearing the alternate which is progressives. Progressives look the same as single vision glasses but they actually have 3 vision areas in them. If you only wear glasses occasionally for a few thing like driving or going to see a movie then single vision lenses are fine for that. But once your eyesight reaches the point where you rarely take your glasses off or you maybe just prefer wearing your glasses all the time then you should at leas consider getting progressives. I'm sure Melissa's eyes are so much more comfortable wearing progressives because her eyes aren't working as hard as they would be wearing single vision glasses. Did you have much trouble adjusting to them?

I started wearing my glasses because i couldnt see from far!(2 years ago)My doctor said that i need to wear them only when i watch tv and on school,only in class so i can see at the board!Well i did that and i didnt wear them outside.Then my eyesight started to get worse.I thought it was because i didnt wear them all day so i asked my doctor and she said it doesnt depend on it!Then i started wearing them when i was reading and using my phone and then i couldnt see from close..AND FROM FAR...now im 11 years old (ik im young) my eyesight is so bad i think its 5.0 and more...and i believe that my eyesight is never gonna get any better because i use my phone A LOT LIKE A LOT..i feel that my eyesight is never gonna get better and im so sad because im too young to have such bad vision...thats my story and if anyone read this...thank you and have a good day

I'm addicted of wearing glasses all the time I feel difficulty to see from far my doctor suggest me to only wear when you are at school or watching TV otherwise its not nessecary I want to ask you as u have experienced it is it better to leave glasses addiction or should I wear all the time bacuase I can't take off my glasses it feels like I'm without leg and trying to walk. Not to sound like your experience wasn’t bad but I’ve been officially conditioned with myopia 14 years ago (probably had it much younger) when I was 5 and from there it only got worse. Now that I’m older my ever so failing vision is slowly starting to calm down and stabilizing. Making the blurry vision not change for a while.

So I was practically born with it BUT I’ve heard that if you read books every day in low light or whatever that can might worsen your eyesight idk. By conclusion do things that like strain your eyes? I mean contacts are an alternative but to me they’re just too much work. If you haven’t been wearing them long I would keep wearing them, you’ll get used to it. Other than that all I can say is don’t sleep with contacts on.

I mean it really depends on your age. I had myopia for 14 years and mine only got worse since I had mine at an early stage. 20s-30 year olds tend to have their vision stabilized but it could happen much later too. In my opinion wear them 24/7 because I heard not wearing them can make it worse but again that depends on your age.

I do what Jake Steiner says and I have improved by about 0.25 diopters and can't wait to start dropping each diopter. I wear -6.00 right now for distance and -4.50 for using a computer (reduce eyestrain). See you later when I have inproved to -5.00 for full prescription.

I wouldn't wear glasses for -0.25. If you do get glasses, only wear them when you need to. Maybe driving at night is the only time they would really help. Do you notice any problems at night when there is less light to see properly?

I’ve been wearing my glasses for 14 years straight besides sleeping and I’ll tell ya the only thing that made them worse was the amount of screens I’ve been watching since then. I heard if you have nearsightedness that it can actually get worse if you don’t wear prescription. Like the doctor said ask a professional.

@@Islay830 man seeing is probably one of the most important senses and losing it would be detrimental to me. I have the chance to do LASIK but in all honesty I don’t have a problem wearing glasses and glasses basically became a part of me.

Wearing your full strength glasses all the time will cause hyperopic defocus. This will cause axial elongation and will cause your eyesight to get worse. Most people don't get worse just from age. It's how we take care of our eyes as we age. If we don't have good habits and wear full strength all the time then our eyes will get worse. You can google these terms or use Google Scholar to look them up. I learned better habits for my eyes from Jake Steiner of Endmyopia and how to improve my eyesight.
