Yes it's normal and God allows us to go through depression to make us humble and put him first. Prayer has to be daily for us and some people are still plagued by these moods. Jesus is the answer. He will give you peace.

dude if you are depressed first seek health and a true to the core friend, if you dont solve this your faith will suffer as a result, most of your spiritual problems can be solved through your body, like a healthy diet (no meats ever, bread only here and there) eat lots of greens and dring jugs of water, suply yourself with a steady suply of fruits (reject alcohol, cigarets and annything that is made from seeds), reject going tho a therapist. also pray more of "the our Father" then the "hail Mary" do an inverse rosary maybe. Your humility stems from recognising that you cant suffer through everything, suffering is not ever a good thing, it is as worthless to the common man as golden jewlery or diamonds. We need to strive to die happy and living.

@@jokerguycz thanks. I meant humble as in I can't do it by myself God, I need you. I agree you have to take care of yourself. If your depressed because of mistakes from the past remember God already forgave you and you need to forgive yourself. God never expects anyone to be perfect.

@@kiryu-chan577 on the contrary, God allways wants everyone to be perfect, only the idea of perfection is compleatly missleading to the human soul and so you have to pray and do sacrifices so that God wil make you perfectly love him. You might be surprised by the results (for the most part you have to be happy in your relationship with God and treat him especialy as just another person)

@@jokerguycz We are never going to be perfect in this life. He knows we are all going to make mistakes as Christians. Telling a depressed person God wants them to be perfect will only make them feel more inadequate. That is the last thing I would tell a depressed person who wants to give up. I would tell them to trust in Jesus and his redemption and keep praying. Don't focus on the fact that you are not perfect Bro. Trust in Jesus. You belong to him. Keep pray...God will give you peace. Feelings come and go. You are not your feelings. You are His.

I used to feel sad when i experienced spiritual emptiness and when I am still not able to forgive and forget even after going to confession. I started losing my faith. But later I learned to continue go to confession every week even though I keep on experiencing these things. I learned to accept that I am not perfect even if I confess. I still remained imperfect. I learned still humbling myself in confession in spite of my imperfections, is called surrendering to God.

not in you, ask and sacrifice to him that you can love God perfectly, and speak naturaly as to someone you are actualy aware of because he is there, dont ever ask for good feelings from God, they most likely come from the bad side that is trying to sway you away from the truth.

@@jokerguycz Do you know what I can sacrifice to God? I’ve been praying about this for a long time. There’s so much going on. My life is perfect. But yet I struggle to connect to the things I am talking to God about and quick to forget after and lose faith. I don’t know if this is something I need to talk about with my parish priest, but I’m currently writing how I feel right now and planning on showing him when I get a chance.

@@briandrozdowski4083 ok but I suggest, you stop praying mechanicaly and strive to pray organicaly, God needs for you to learn to speak to him as to a friend, if you are afraid you might insult God that way, do not worry, it is better that you have a stronger relationship with him on a natural level, then anyy ocasional forgetable sin.

I have never felt God's love. I have never had a moment with Him. I have never felt the Peace of The Lord. I just know that He is there. I pray the Rosary every day. I stopped doing Novenas because now i end up forgetting a day and have to start over. I do not believe in prayer being answered for any reasons of this world, only for salvation purposes. I believe I did have a situation guided by the blessed Mother. I do believe She was behind it.

You can ask your guardian angel to prompt you. Or even the Holy Spirit. I do novenas all the time because i love the prayers or just because I just want to keep praying with God. Don’t ever stop. Ask Jesus to help you be consistent or a saint perhaps?

The summer of 2018 I went through some of the most incredible pain I've experienced, and I've been in pain most of my life. Multiple orthopedic surgeries over the years, but nothing like that summer. I can't take pain meds because of addiction. I ended up losing a little over 100 pounds in 6 months. That’s a perception issue. I believe that God helps us go through things to grow. I believe in looking for the silver lining in things. It helps keep you humble and grateful. I accepted Christ when I was 12 and I left the church at 15. I was an atheist/agnostic for 20+ years and through all that I still kept Christ’s teachings in mind (He was a really amazing person). And I would sometimes see God in my life guiding me, giving me random hints, protecting me from bad situations. I can attest that God never leaves you. If you truly accept His Son into your life and live by Him, God never leaves you… even if you might not even believe He exists. So ultimately, it’s truly about perception. If you believe God isn’t there, then He isn’t. Sometimes in the moment it feels hopeless but when you look back, you can see how much you learned from what you went through. You can see the lesson God wanted to teach you and you feel even more humbled that He cares about your development and that He graced you with the knowledge that you are capable to go through tough things. If there is one constant, it’s that we are constantly surrounded and protected by God. We might not understand why in the moment but you will if you open your heart and mind.

According to Aquinas Love is a Knowledge, Not a feeling. God's Love for us is only different by degrees; His Love is pure act, pure Knowledge. Associating Love with feeling, only, opens one up to the errors of Modernism where sentiment and experience are the only true validation and expression of faith. Modernism has captured the Church hierarchy to the very top, as our current Pope is a 'card carrying' Modernist.

My interpretation of Bishop Barron's statement that Christianity is the best way to heaven and that there are other ways is the same as Jesus' statements on the cross, 'this day you will be with Me in Paradise' where Jesus did not use the words 'repent to the dying thief', also Jesus' statement that 'those not against me are for me' which means that Jesus can as he transubstantiated bread and wine to his Person can use every single thought and matter to draw everything to Himself. Bishop Barron's optimistic statement is to me a form of humility to recognize that God is All Powerful. When opinions of Ralph and Mr Fradd are representative of the ARROGANCE OF SATAN. FOR SATAN REBELLED AGAINST GOD BECAUSE GOD EXERTED UTMOST EFFORT TO SAVE ALL MANKIND. Bishop Barron has the background to make interpretation of Vatican. Ralph Martin's way of speaking and Matt Fradd's way of speaking turn off the most interesting people that God would like to convert. I would rather think God can succeed in the worst sinner rather than have in me an anger that hinders the salvation of the least. This attitude of Ralph Martin and Matt Frad are the very image of a millstone tied around their necks. I am sure Bishop would be more pleasing to God who has faith on salvation of the least, rather than Ralph and Matt repeatedly stating doctrine and their understanding of it. SHAME ON YOU TWO AND THE LIKES OF YOU TOO IF YOU ARE WRONG FOR YOU HINDER THE ENTRY INTO HEAVEN BY THOSE WHO ARE LEAST. HOW CAN YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE MORE WORTHY TO CAUSE CONVERSION OF THESE LEAST MORE THAN BARRON WHO HAS STAKED THEIR SEX LIFE AND THEIR MINDS TO GOD. SATAN WAS A HERETIC BECAUSE HE WILL NOT SERVE GOD WHO WILL GO AFTER THE LEAST.

Reject the pleasurable aspect of the faith, think about stuff in racional terms and ask many questions to a great multitude of people like: what, how, why and realy?
