I’ve always wanted a Soldano after playing one once a long time ago…sold me on the 30 Stellar playing by the way 😎🎸

Thanks man, it’s all subjective… would I have loved it 10 years ago? Probably not cause I was into a different style of low tuned, chugging tightness, lol. But it’s tight enough for me these days and I really love it all the way around. I know I can rely on it, get it repaired if need be, and… embarrassingly, love that it says Soldano across the front \m/

Ceriatone just came out with their SLO clones. 100 and 50 watt versions, point-to-point wired. Comes stock in snakeskin.

Oh nice, have to check that out \m/

Point to point is just a nice way of saying you're not gonna get two ampd which sound consistent. Your SLO might sound great whilst someone else's will be crap.

@BrunodeSouzaLino It's easier for an amateur to wire up less-than spec components (or for a greedy company to cut costs on individual components), for sure. From a serviceability angle, P2P will always be superior to PCB.
@BrunodeSouzaLino2 ай бұрын
@@eyeofamon if anything, P2P makes it harder to service because you're opening your circuits to mechanical vibrations which can knock components and connections loose, since none of those amps have any form of vibration dampening on connections. Or you end up with intermittent issues because the solder joint on one leg or wire cracked and it moves ever so slightly under certain conditions.

@@BrunodeSouzaLino Every service tech I've spoken to in the past 40 years has said they much prefer working on P2P, with some even going so far as to say they refuse to work on amps that are all-PCB.

Sounds great as slo's always do! What cabs and speakers have you run it through, and what's become your favorites?
@oldguyjammin97322 ай бұрын
I’ve run it through Heritage 30 closed back, a DV-77 closed back and a G12M-65 open back. The G12 open is my favorite, lets it breath a bit.

Sounds good to me old guy! Hey, do you still have that Stage Right tube 15? If so, what is your opinion of it now, a couple of years later?
@oldguyjammin97322 ай бұрын
I don’t have it anymore… kept upgrading. I’d still say it’s worth every penny of its price. Not sure what it’s going for these days but if you can swing the DSL5 I’d go that route. I really like that little amp.

Do you have a reverb page that you’ll be selling your gear? If not, where do you sell it? Thanks
@oldguyjammin97322 ай бұрын
I usually use Craig’s List. Just sold my EL34 5150iii and JVM205. Currently have my Friedman Little Sister for $795 and an Orange Brent Hinds for $425 on the block.

Is it worth just going for the SLO-100?
@oldguyjammin97322 ай бұрын
Probably, bigger amps usually have more thump and fullness, but not having played the 100 can’t say for sure.
