Is It Possible To Talk About My Friendly Neighborhood Without Comparing It To Resident Evil?

My Friendly Neighborhood somehow manages to break the curse of poorly-executed mascot horror games. But all anyone can talk about is how it's "Like Sesame Street Meets Resident Evil". So, what else is there to say about it?

The loading doors are likely to stop the game from turning into a slugfest the first time you fire a weapon. A lot of games that attempt to ape the original resident evil have a horrible problem where firing a gun aggros a ton of monsters in one part of the map, so instead of going room to room and finding monsters they all just mob you and you end up clearing huge parts of the map in big brawls, then having an empty map to work through.

It's possible that was part of it, but the game doesn't have much of a stealth element unlike most horror games. The enemies have a pretty tiny aggro range and the guns don't attract much attention beyond that.

Fair, it's aimed mostly at people who have nostalgia for those shows from when they were a kid (in addition to actual kids). The execution is good, but you have to be on board with the concept in the first place.

@JelloApocolaypse the "casting and voice director" and did a slightly sweary live-stream (spoilers!) of this on his @JelloPlaysVideoGames channel in-which he (spoilers) discusses this game with voice actors (cast and not cast in game),, its influences from Resident Evil,, mentions the sad-state of mascot horror,, (and prompts the dev. to make a QOL change that shows up before he finishes the game).
