What radiator are you using? I'm also building a 5.3 LUV

I figured your Holley harness would’ve came with the alternator plug as part of it. Is that not the case? Why did you have to put a resistor in the harness? I thought todays alternators came with a built in resistor. Asking for info. I’m swapping an S-10 and I’m using the Holley terminator too. Any info you have would be appreciated lol

I would’ve thought so too, but it didn’t. I’m not sure about the newer LS alternators. But for mine (off an 02 Silverado) in the factory application, the PCM sends a 5v reference to the voltage regulator to “turn it on”. If I remember correctly, the alternator has either a PNP transistor or NPN transistor which is used to allow voltage to flow through the alternator. If you supply too much voltage to that Transistor, you will burn it open and it will no longer charge.
