As someone who lives in Dallas and lived in NYC. I get it. NYC is like the most interesting bf/gf you'll ever have. It gives you life but it's toxic AF. Dallas is a more stable and reasonable option, but leaves one wondering if this is all there is to life? To anyone who needs to hear this put the focus on yourself. Fix you first. If you are not fixed, you just taking unfixed on a tour.
@KellyStamps2 жыл бұрын
I just screenshotted this. This is completely true. And I literally did have an almost boyfriend situation in Dallas. He treated me well and he was wonderful but he was totally boring. Admitted that he has no desire to ever leave Texas. Was not interested in coming to visit because he’s born and raised and has never really left. I really don’t think there is that middle ground lol. I am focusing on myself over the next few weeks and thinking about what I really want to do. But I want is both. The creativity in fast pace but with Texas prices lol. I was so bored every single day. And down there I didn’t make as much money because I was bored, and you can tell. Cooking videos were hilarious and very easy but aside from that, lifestyle vlogging which is what I do was very hard to do. I can get a normal job and relax and live in Texas and blend in like everybody else but it always feels like something is missing!

Was born and raised in NYC, first gen immigrant child. People don't understand *why* NYC got so expensive. It wasn't the immigrants or natives' faults. Long time watcher, first time commentor. Another angle to your NYC experience is that you’re not hear to directly work for a company or be a student. Those two atmospheres would provide you with a diverse group of people that provide a lot of growth and enjoyment to your time in NYC. Trust me, NYC coworkers are the most interesting of any work culture out there. I have literally laughed till I cried and been able to be as candid with others while working or going to school with great people. This was the most important thing I took from the post undergrad-entry level faze of my life.. the relationships. All that said, you’re completely open to so much and I love that about you but it is fact that your not really here for the same reasons as others your age. I don't care what no one says. NYC is the best place to be in your 20s. It has some of the best education and scholarships/grants (esp for in-state residents). Plus, you're living your life, clubs, events, networking/socializing. Once you grow up and want to start a family, then I can see considering leaving. But honestly, everyone saying leave, take what you can, and get out is forgetting the native, minority communities who don't have that option. Their resources are not being catered to because everyone comes and leaves instead of investing back into their neighborhood, and yet wonder why it's so "bad."

From fallow periods rich harvests result. Algorithms, smalgorithms--these are merely outliers for internal (and more exciting ) changes for you, Kelly. I'm part of the very older base of your stampede watching you grow. I listen quietly to what you say and intently between the words you don't share. I hear you. There is so much you want to achieve and they will come.... in their own time. Good luck.

Thank you! I agree. There is more to life than the algorithm.

This is how I feel about the DMV area. Are there more interesting places in the NE? Of course, but I think I’m so tied to the area because that’s where I grew up. Born and raised in DC, going to college in MD, and hanging out with friends and family in Virginia.

You are such an inspiration. I love your videos so much more because I can see that you have grown even in your content. Darn the algorithm for not promoting you as much, it doesn't know what it's missing by not showing you to more viewers.

4k for a studio in the upper east side is WILD. That is so much above the asking price it’s mind blowing. You could get a two bed in that area for that.

KZbin is a dying platform with the way the owners are running it. I hope you are continuing to pursue piloting as a back up plan, and working somewhere a few days out of the week isn't such a bad thing. Love you girl.

I've been reading the comments and you're saying that you don't really feel safe outside of your neighborhood, I would advise you to try to experience NYC as a whole, go beyond that fear and explore other boroughs and neighborhoods that are full of life. I personally never lived there but visited as a tourist for long stays and never did basic tourist stuff. Enjoyed Brooklyn, Chinatown, Chelsea, lots of cafes, bars, museums and parks with interesting people. The most difficult is to get out there and socialize but once you find your crowd, it goes smoothly.

I would like a Kelly Stamps coffee table book/travel guide where you visit Japan, but there's also a vlog tie in. And it involves post cards with actual Stamps, and a signet ring stamp.

I live in Downtown Los Angeles and have been here in LA 3 and a half years but as soon as the rental prices in New York stabilize I’m on my way to NYC. There is no other city like NYC. I’d rather sacrifice a little to live there now before I have kids and a family, and enjoy my last years of child less life in the best city in the world.
