Before anyone even says it-- yes I know I can get a cheaper place outside Manhattan. But I'm on my Black Blair Waldorf energy this time and got a sick place with a 24/7 doorman. I deserve to experience Manhattan independently for once in my prime. I've suffered long enough with psycho roommates, radioactive rats in my kitchen, living by Marcy & Myrtle with guys telling me my "chicken legs are sexy" and more. I'M GONNA BE POSH. LET ME LIVE MY GOSSIP GWORL FANTASY THANK YOU. But yeah this is a ripoff lol. But cheers to living in prime Manhattan and doubling my earnings again anyway. I can afford it.

I as a self-employed individual found that, in order to get around this, I just needed to start a company (LLC), and then pay myself a salary. That's how these guys get convinced. Because the irony is, a company is basically like a self-employed individual too. Its income also fluctuates monthly, but it keeps on chugging, and making its moola and paying its expenses like any other self-employed individual. So, you can register an LLC, and hustle through it, and you can then have less of these issues in the future.

Wow, I'm in shock at how egregious NYC rent prices have become. I live in San Francisco and even here is considerably more affordable. I'm paying just over $3k/month for an 850 square foot 1 bedroom with a balcony, den, and patio, directly in front of the Bay Bridge (plus a parking spot!). While I have what would be considered a steal here, it's possible to find hidden gems if you look hard. Seriously criminal to be paying $3k/month for a 350 square foot studio, no matter the location.

I think you would get more bang for your buck finding your dream apartment in the boroughs and they won't haggle you as much bc you are a high earner. Take your time looking for the right one, stress free, and you'll find one perfect for your budget in a friendly neighborhood. Best of luck in your search! I'm glad your raison d'être is to make me smile and everyone else stampede! Next time you are in-between apartments you can come and stay with me -its only a 32 hour flight to Oz.

Shout out to Maplewood, NJ! It is such an amazing town and is accessible to NYC. But definitely a place for families not really young professionals

If anything deff Try new Jersey. It's wayyyyy easier and clearly a wayyy more reasonable process to get a lux apt there. I used to live in bloomfield 2 minute walk from the train straight to nyc Penn it was wonderful. It was the best of both worlds. Most days I honestly for get I was even in New Jersey. Also It was nice to go to the store on my days off/lazy days and not have to fight my way through hundreds of people just to get a coffee lol and when I needed to be in NYC then boom 20_30 mins I was there. Also you get more for your money in Jersey... Not a lot more but enough 😂. I do hope you're able to get the apt you truly want though. I'm sending all the mannhatten lucky to you ❤️🍀🤞

I like what you said about having your own talk show. What about setting up your new place like a "talk show" livingroom? Then you can invite people over to be on your show!!!! Yeah!!!

My 1st NYC apartment was in Normandie Court....hilarious that they're STILL having elevator issues. Truly adds more time than you would think to your commute especially since I have a dog & we were on a high floor. 🤪

Ok I have to say, Kelly, I would def produced your late night show! I usE to produce the late late show with craig Ferguson, and Jane corden before getting into promo. Second, you HAVE to look up Cash Jordan! His channel is great and he’s a realtor! I bet he could show you so many cool places. It would be a great collab to!

Kelly, do your thing girl! I honestly don’t know why you want to live here in NYC. It’s dirty, hella expensive and cramp. I’m born and raised in NYC, from Harlem and I’m ready to GO. I don’t want to be here anymore. I’m finishing up my master’s degree and I’m out. But do you girl! Live your best life and I wish you the best.

consider getting a lastolite panoramic (13foot) green screen if you end up getting a place with a room for it. Some in-house improvisational content against some imaginative backgrounds from home would be spontaneously cool.
