In today’s video, I’ll be discussing how monotonous trucking jobs are & whether or not it’s time to leave a trucking job or trucking all together. I’ll also be sharing my opinion on the job market as it relates to trucking.

Any job gets monotonous over a period of time. You just have to find a healthy balance and just do your best.

When I applied for cdl school I took a discretionary leave at my job so I could still have a job when I finished cdl school. Once I got my cdl I went back to the warehouse job I had and started applying to different companies. Took a job offer from Sysco because it fit my schedule with my kids. Been here 6 months and love it. I am currently a night delivery driver in the Kansas City area. The money is real when people say you can make over 100K in food service your first year! Keep up the good content that’s one of the things that motivated me to get into food service!

Landstar cancelled my ass for a non preventable accident. Imagine how hard it is to get something when companies see u got fired for a accident. shit is crazy man took 2 months to get on with a shitty company lol.

@justinhopkins7703 Man it's ugly out here, just getting fired alone regardless of the reason will have companies not even wanting to know the reason why,they already don't want nothing to do with you.

Whata up bro you speaking lots of facts. I had a good friend of mines that left sygma twice and came back, this his third time coming back. A senior driver told me and him that in order to leave trucking or just leave a trucking company for another one he told us you have to have a plan, you finances have to be in order and if they arent you will be forced to come back because you need the money.

Trucking is not bad it just takes a lot of ur time if you want it o make some good money,and if you don’t already know that money is not everything for all people. For me as a truck driver for 34 years I’m good with fifty hours a week working locally it gives me enough time for family and personal time but that’s just me,I did work for Sygma once and I new a guy that even on his day off he use to take his son to work to make more money .But the more material things you want the more you have to work so don’t ever compare yourself to anyone do what works for you period.

I think the problem with a lot of new people is that they feel entitled. The goal is to make money first then get experience. You can go to your dream job later or save enough money for a truck. Plenty of jobs out there. go do class b or c anything to make that money.

If anyone is considering leaving, make sure you put in your 2 week notice. I quit GFS as a van delivery driver this week without notice. I already miss it and still love food service. Currently still considering getting a CDL. A great manager makes all the difference, loved the job but not the way management was running things. I'd come back after a while but I most likely burned that bridge.

When i first got my CDL no local job would hire me. I felt very discouraged. I remember i was one of those guys commenting in Anthonys videos that i couldnt get a job this time last year. Eventually i got a great job at a local school district driving a box truck around. As long as you remain vigilant of opportunities you will get a job.

4 years experience and fully endorsed. I was regional and took me 9 months and about 40 applications to find a local job. I got 2 offers the same week. I had to turn down one. I start orientation next week. The good wave of trucking during pandemic is over. It’s too many trucks and too many drivers chasing too little freight. Hard times in trucking right now.Just stay ENGAGED. I appreciate your videos.

I will say going from otr to local felt like it was a great move for me. Not really cuz of the money aspect of it but the mental part of it, for me personally I need to be close to my family and friends. Something about being far from them for extended period of time doesn’t feel natural. A moment in time I did do that was when I was in the USMC and I missed everyone so much.

I know it's considered sacrilegious to do this BUUUT .... Use your knowledge and get into management. It's just as rewarding in my opinion. Guys need leaders in management that have been in the trenches they've been in. I'm glad I did & I said I NEVER would. Guys need good leaders to help them get the job done right. As a driver, we know all the tricks & being IN management, you can keep your guys insulated from the BS upper management likes to create for workers. Just my opinion. Use that knowledge you have.

Another ☝️ in my Khaled voice…you hit it on the money, whether you want to leave or if you stay that decision is based upon you and your situation. People spend so much time trying to figure out how other people are getting money and success that they never find their niche or their own lane to operate in…sad but true. When I was new CDL holder I couldn’t get an offer from local jobs. I went OTR for a year and all those local jobs offered me a job after I reapplied. Sysco, PFG, and Us foods reached out to me. I went with Us foods because they reached out first and closer to me. I didn’t give my OTR job a notice until everything went through and I got start date with my new job. Just finished my orientation. I thanked Sysco and pfg for the job offer and told them I took a job already.

You think they are picky because of low freight and all the Yellow Freight drivers that hit the market?
@imanthonytv
@imanthonytv 3 ай бұрын
That’s part of it. In addition to other trucking companies who closed the doors and or laid off drivers. Also, the influx of owner operators who decided to go back to company driver due to being unable to sustain a profitable business in this market.
