The curl will stay in better if you mist the ends of the hair before using the curl attachment. It also helps to add a little holding product like a mousse or styling cream. The curl definition you’re missing her is less about the length of your hair and more about the need to wet the hair a bit and use some product. It took a lot of practice for me to master my Dyson to get my curls to hold! I hope that helps!

Needed this review because I WILL NOT pay $600 for a hair dryer with fancy attachments, but $300 is something I’ll ponder on lol. I have thick hair though so I don’t know if it’ll work out😭 Love this &love you!!

I LOVE my FlexStyle! I HIGHLY recommend getting their smaller round brush attachment! Its a GAME CHANGER! For me that attachment took it from 80% as good as the Dyson to 95% as good!

Crazy timing!!! I literally got fed up with my 14yr old hair dryer a few days ago and ordered the shark ! Should be here in a couple days so when I saw this I was like YEEEYEEE

You and I have the exact same thickness and texture. I've had a dyson for about 9 months and the only time a "brushed out curl" has held in my hair was literally from hairspraying each section before and after (but I had to wash the next day when I usually get 3-4 days out of my hair). I agree these tools are only good for blowouts and volume on our hair type.

I bought mine from Costco $300 (comes with the oval brush, a smaller round brush, the paddle brush, a concentrator, the 2 curling barrels, and a diffuser). I love it, I have thick hair below my shoulders. I dry my hair about 80%, then use the curling barrels, cool shot before releasing and the curls last. I also add some light hairspray

Ulta NOW has the Shark, and the 20% coupon including prestige brands coupon is currently in my box! Woohoo! (Okay, I got the flex style already at Costco bc I’m impatient and didn’t know the coupon was coming). I’m so here for this review tho, bc I haven’t really played with mine much.. Edit: I think I’ve been using mine all wrong in the couple of times I’ve kinda tried it. I was drying mine with the brush wands, then trying to curl it from dry. And my hair is long.

This thing intrigues me. I'm curious though how it clears your counter if it has two barrel attachments, two brush attachments, plus the directional spout, plus the unit itself? Seems like that would clutter up the space more than a curling iron, dryer and brush? Esp for travel, that's 6 bulky items to haul. I'm really interested in this thing, but it seems a lot of attachments to keep track of and find a place to put. I currently just have a Revlon round brush dryer and a curling iron and comb. The dryer comes apart into two pieces.
@Lucky9436 Жыл бұрын
I have the Dyson and I think maybe she’s talking about how you can do everything with just one product which causes the “bulk” to go down. Instead of having to plug a hairdryer in, then a curling iron if you want curls, or having a hair brush on the side for blow outs, a flat iron, etc. This machine does it all with technically less attachments. You can get a blow out with just the round brush or curls with just the barrels. In the newer Dysons you only need one barrel and it switches directions so it’s faster to do your hair. For travel you would just take the machine plus 1 attachment instead of a whole hairdryer, curling iron, round brush, flat iron

Just curious if this tool causes a burning sensation of the ears when using it because of the hot air blowing so near to the ears. I have the revlon curling iron with the clamp that uses hot air and I love it but one thing I have found is that it burns the crap out of my ears! I wear a headband over them to shield them from the hot air and that does the trick but I was wondering if any of the other tools had this problem 😂
@rachellazo1894 Жыл бұрын
I bought the shark flex style about a month ago and it has never once felt hot enough to burn my ears or scalp. I previously used the Revlon hair dryer brush, and that was significantly hotter.

Hey Kristi! I have dyson, so I'm not sure if instructions are different for the shark. With the curling attachment, you want to guide the section and move it towards your scalp, but not back and forth. Ive noticed it straightens my hair when I do that. I also have stick straight long hair. Hope that helps ❤😅

Hey lovely! Quick tip: make sure to use the cool shot after each section with the curling barrel and turn the machine OFF. If you don’t turn it off before releasing the section of hair, it basically undoes your curl. Hope this helps! Your hair is so darling ❤

Sweet Kristi, I just wanted to step in here really quick to caution about reheating food in plastic packaging like that. Heating the plastic releases phthalates (a chemical bi-product of plastic) into your food. It’s really not good for humans to consume and is causing serious harm to our reproductive system in both males and females. I can totally appreciate the convenience of those meals, if I were to do that I would just transfer it into glass before heating. That being said, you do you and live a happy life! I say this with zero judgement, I just want people to be educated about this topic. 💜

I think (and the Dyson if you're super fancy) is good for people who can't use a blow dryer and a round brush. That's a hard thing for most people to do. I'm a stylist, so I know how to use those tools together, and I feel I have more precision and control using them together. If you don't have that skill, I think this is a really great option. Just watch the hair closest to your scalp, make sure you're over-directing, and trying to smooth that hair so you get the body you're looking for without the frizz. I see a lot of videos of people not doing that.

After a horrific haircut by someone who shouldn't be near anyone's hair ever in life, I hid for a couple weeks, cried, then went back to my beloved hairdresser and after the 3rd cut to fix the original hair massacre, I now have really short hair but I'm thinking that it might be better for shorter hair bc the styling would be easy and super quick. Blessings & Love 💜
