I wanna like the V collection, but my FL studio spoiled brain cant get behind paying for updates, especially when i am pretty sure they dont charge for updates to pigments. also subscribe to get this rabbit a minifreak! lets go people!
@AlexReidStudios9 ай бұрын
yo thanks for that hahaha. Agree about free updates, or reasonably priced
@digidope9 ай бұрын
Current offer for V8+fx+Pigments is 299€ so it means to wait for the sales. v9 was not worth the price for me, but when X is 149€ then maybe. Only thing interesting is the updates of the synths that i already have. Btw, all Pigments updates have been free so far. So it's kinda odd that they charge for every update for Minimoog clone.
@AlexReidStudios9 ай бұрын
Agree, and man that's too expensive, that's the usual price when on sale

I've been a user of Arturia since 2009 and I have been pleased with each new addition. I think between this and Cherry Audio, you can cover a lot of ground for different sound types based on classic instruments. I know UVI Audio's Synth Anthology exists and if you like purely sample-based takes as opposed to native emulations, that's fine too.
@AlexReidStudios9 ай бұрын
Agree, I like how Cherry Audio emulates mostly things not emulated by Arturia, so it's complementary. UVI is also a great option
@HOLLASOUNDS9 ай бұрын
It would probably be a good idea to stick with and use Analog Lab if you own any Arturia Hardware you get Analog Lab. I'd use that before buying the V collection, especially if your not a sound designer and you stick to mostly presets. I'm more interested in presets, they can make better sounds then I can and I want to just make music.
@AlexReidStudios9 ай бұрын
exactly! Analog lab is actually a beast for that, because it still let's you change the sounds a bit.

I always watch your reviews and enjoy them The only thing I find lacking (as I do with many reviews) is a real evaluation, based on the KZbinr's knowledge and experience. I can read the manuals and discover the features in Arturia's own demo videos. What I really want to know in independent reviews is 'Is it shit/great/mediocre?'. What do other users think and why? Demos on what actually makes something good/bad, etc. I find, so many times, a new product comes out and there are 7 or so KZbin 'reviews' with the same information, lol. Just my opinion but your final summation is, like most, pretty non-committal and I didn't really come away knowing what your experience of using the X Collection had been.

Hola Conejo Amigo: I know I’m in the minority but I’ll say it: I think Arturia synths are overrated. U-he, GForce, Cherry Audio all sound and feel more analog to me (and I’ve been fortunate enough to work in studios with loads of vintage synths). When you play an actual modular moog or Buchla or even more recent ones like Jupiters they all sound sorta - what’s the word? - INSANE. lol. Crazy, Unpredictable and amazing in all sorts of unpredictable ways, not unlike plugging a guitar into a Marshall amp and cranking it to 11. No soft synth will ever capture this fully, I understand, but Arturia’s in particular just feel so uniquely castrated and polite. Anyway, just my 2 pesos. Espero que tienes un feliz navidad 🎄 😊
@AlexReidStudios9 ай бұрын
Hola! I understand and agree at some extent. For me not every synth by Arturia is great, but the ones I like are enough. I usually go for Diva for many analog sounds, also Cherry Audio and Gforce, but from Arturia I like Acid, the Prophet, Juno, the Piano and now the Brasses
@jeffreyhanc17119 ай бұрын
@@AlexReidStudios fair enough. I think what irritates me about Arturia is that they seem to have the capacity. Their vintage compressor emulations and plate Verb are Fn great. And their synth designs are awesome too - the graphics, the tutorial sidebar etc. So I guess my feeling is: they’re not a small co, they obviously have a boatload of talent and have been at this for years - why are they not nailing it?? Eh, maybe in a few upgrades or so. Fingers crossed!

The upgrade is 299€ for me from V8. That’s more then what I paid for V8 on sale. I think the new additions are great, but that’s just too steep for me. BF in a year then.

I have quite a lot of the Arturia stuff, including the FX Collection. In my opinion, Pigments is Arturia's best product. Is it something I use...nope. However, I prefer parts of the FX. The same syndrome as with Native Komplete (I have everything), 100 different synths but how many are suitable for today's requirements (except Massive X)? What I find interesting about this year's upgrade, is the new Mini Moog update and maybe the 303. Cheers.

Yeah, I believe that having 39 plugins is not a selling point, at least for me. That's why I think about having at least 4 or 5 products from the bundle I'll really use

I was looking for an easy way to get the classic Roland TB-303 sequenced bass sound, so to me, the Acid V alone was worth my $149 upgrade price from V Collection 9 to X. Unfortunately, I missed the $49 sale when the Acid V first came out. However, I don't feel like I wasted money, as I am really liking the MiniFreak V and the upgraded Mini V. The new entrants to the augmented series are good too, though I don't like them as much.

I always look forward to Arturia's new release, but I may pass on X as my VC.9 already contains so much. I'd like to upgrade to get the Mini V.4 at some stage though. Keep 'em coming please (hint - PPG Wave / drum machine collection).
@AlexReidStudios9 ай бұрын
True! I alredy got Acid V before the collection arrived, and just now I'm becoming interested on minifreak, but dunno if I would pull the trigger
@yvesb.51906 ай бұрын
I will probably skip V collection X because I already bought AcidV and MiniFreakV upon their release dates. AcidV sounds great and I also seem to make much more progress in terms of workflow vs MiniFreakV. The "augmented" series certainly sounds good but it's not something I am particularly interested in. My personal opinion is that this should have been a seperate collection cause it's for a different audience (but maybe that's just me?!). I'm here for the synths and while I'd love to get my hands onto the new version of the Minimoog I Lso feel like it's not worth to upgrade for this one alone (cause I'm not particularly interested in the WurliV, eventhough it sounds nice!). After AcidV, I still hope for 808 and 909 emulations and I keep my fingers crossed for a Sub(sequent)37 emulation and - why not - VST versions of Arturia's own instruments like Minibrute or Matrixbrute/Polybrute, which would probably be more interesting to most of us synth nerds.... unless you are Hans Zimmer and composing your next symphonic film score..... 🤷♂️🤔

Imho those two are the most valuable new synths in the collection, so good thinking

I was on the fence on upgrading my V Collection 9, but I just fell off the fence onto the "Buy it now" side. Great video and overview of the new stuff in the collection. Very nice job.

I've been so focused on the Moog Mariana that I didn't realize Arturia added an Augmented Woodwind. I already have Minifreak V, Analog Lab and several non-Arturia 303/acid synths, so the new Collection announcement didn't look all that appealing to me.

I appreciate the information here, but the accent is SO heavy, it's stepping all over your English. When you're learning a new language, it's important to PRONOUNCE well enough that speakers of that language can clearly understand you. I think you've probably got good information here and good insights, but it's just miserable trying to follow along and struggle to understand you. You can work on this pretty easily. Just do some tutorials on English pronunciation and you'll see improvement quickly. It'll help your channel. Good luck!

I practice english every day but I disagree, accent is the less important aspect. I tell you this by experience, by living a year in an english speaking country with no communication issues, and also as a native spanish speaker talking spanish with people from non spanish speaking countries. It's important to certain degree, but not to be 100% perfect
