We were in Durrës 2 weeks ago and before that our last international trip was our honeymoon in Mexico. It was a rainy day but we got a free lift from Tirana so could not say no. Can't wait to see your Durres content!

You can use the App Moovit for public transportation in Tirana :) As for mosques, you only need to take your shoes of before entering. Other than that, you should keep in mind clothing rules that are more or less the same in all religious buildings - for instance, not showing too much skin, especially in summer - but you were completely fine. I highly recommend visiting not only the mosques but also the churches that are often close by. However, people are rather agnostic than religious nowadays. The Capitals of Balkan countries are often really crowded. I guess, you will eventually learn about how to avoid rush hours and traffic jams. Are you now heading to the South or North of the country ?

Probably not. The water stays pretty cold year-round in Albania. It's fine in the summer when the weather is really hot out, but it will start cooling down in October when you probably won't want to swim.
