What are the roots of Halloween and how should we see this day as biblical Christians?
How does Halloween relate to other days of the dead?
How can a Christian be discerning on this issue in today’s scientific age?

I leave my porch light on and I buy candy. When children come to my door, I give them candy and a Gospel of John which I have prayed over. I don’t know where these seeds end up, but I’ve never found them in the street or my yard. When we used to walk the streets giving out the Gospel it was a lot harder to reach people. We knocked on doors. On Halloween, they come to me.

I totally understand and agreement with your position _mature Christians are Conservative/Liberals _they are Conservative in their own life where the Word and the Spirit lead them _they are Liberal with others who do not possess the same knowledge or have a different understanding!! Many things "pagan" are benign because they are really foolishness to the enlightened, many other things should be outright avoided, we should use reasonable Christian discretion and wisdom to understand what is what, and realize that we live in a seriously fallen world and secular civil society in and of itself is not a bad environment _it can simply recognize the separation of church and state _ being the most tenable balance for expressions of Liberty for all peoples🤔❤ ✝️ 🙏

Do not celebrate the traditions of man. These holidays feed the beast. We give billions to the 1% oh the people who have 99% of the money. These people control the world. They control the wars the governments. And very few mention Jesus some years we celebrate is resurrection before his death. Bring the church into the world not the world Into the church. Look at our imaginary on money. If I didn’t know what a dollar bill was and I found it and looked at it. I would think it’s a Godly country. Because it says in God we trust. But once I learned the symbolism of it. I would know they trust in the God of darkness America has legalized every single Ten Commandments. Completely morally bankrupt. Then we turn around and pump our money right back into the hands that control it.

Halloween is not a holy day set apart by God. The Catholic Church named it "All Saints Day." To celebrate dead saints. Halloween is a pagan holiday for witches, occultists, "Day of the Dead" or Samhein. Satanists sacrifice aborted babies on this day, and it is a big day when all sorts of things are sacrificed. Many people are kidnapped on this day. It is a day to celebrate darkness. Satan wants nothing more than for people like you to believe it is a day made by God. The DAY is made by God, but the celebrations are made by ungodly people. I believe Christians should not participate , but it is a matter of one's conscience.

Halloween should NOT be celebrated in any way. Trunk or treat is still giving the appearance of evil. If the church celebrates Trunk or treat, they are giving off the appearance of evil. God will be judging the church first, before He judges anyone else! Churches have to be in prayer, reading their Bibles, and fasting as much as possible. Three things that they do not do today! I had an epiphany at 19 after Baptism in the Holy Spirit, and repented for hanging death decorations on my house and participating in the celebration of my enemy. They are not celebrating the "pagan ritual." I say Satan stole the day, and we should take it back. The Bible says, "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil by doing good." Ignoring it implies you have been overcome by it, instead of overcoming it with good. We are never instructed to ignore evil, but rather overcome evil. We are to overcome it by DOING something good. Ignoring it does absolutely nothing, except make evil grow.

Knowing that it's a pagan, this means that it came from Satan. He absolutely hates every person who will ever be born of their mother. Not a single person is perfect, only God is. Whenever people listen to Satan, they do what he says, and becomes worse for doing them. Paganism started with him. Whenever a holiday that originated from Satan, I don't want to have any aspect to do with it. How many are there? I suggest to the readers of this message to do as much studying of all the holidays your country has. You'll discover that that most of them started as pagan rituals. I was raised as a Catholic and attended Catholic school. The nuns taught us that Halloween was really the night when some of the souls in “purgatory” were released and that their spirits were loose on the earth for a while that night. We were also taught that we should pray for the souls in purgatory. Supposedly their prayers help shorten the stint of those who are in this temporary help like place. The Roman church made up a lot of extra traditions. Most of them meant more money for the church. I guess that is why they locked up the Bible for over 1000 years. They could not have people reading the truth. Even today they teach that the Bible should only be read in the presence of a priest that can explain it to you. When I first read the New Covenant scriptures I had no idea what it was about. I kind of understood the Gospels. They were somewhat like a biography. When I got to Paul’s letters it was nothing like anything I had seen in any church of any kind. No church that I had experienced was conducted like Paul explained things. For that matter none of the “Christians” loved each other or tried to spread the Good News as Paul had spoken about it. They seem to despise unbelievers and don’t like each other very much either. Be careful how you speak in front of unbelievers. They are paying attention to how you conduct yourselves. No one came and shared the Gospel with me. I began reading the Bible and trying to find out the truth about who this God really was. HE entered my life and saved me. God IS love. Once you know that live no one can take it from you. All glory and praise is his. Those who seek him will find him when they seek him with all of their heart.

Do your activities on a different day if you must celebrate it some way. Personally, I feel we have no business reclaiming a demon holiday. Jesus was conceived on about December 25th and born on the First Day of the Feast of Tabernacles. Circumcised on the Eighth/or Last Great Day of that Feast. People have mixed up the day of HIS birth with His day of conception by religious groups from misconceptions and others wanting to make a pagan festival holy and give it a godly appearance, which is unholy. Nowhere in the New Testament does it ever mention that it was cold or snowing when Jesus was born. The weather is never mentioned because it was known that the time Jesus was born was in the Fall...no cold or snow then. Surely, at least two gospels would have told of how cold it was on that night. That idea was imposed to support the Saturnellean Feast honoring the Roman god of the Romans, Saturn. Getting the truth will really startle you as to how much "hog wash," we take for grated. Nowadays, there is easy access to the truth about things taken for granted for many decades. Research for the truth. But, remember this, God's WORD is theTRUTH . Always has and always will be ! Separation of church and state is not in the Declaration of Independence nor the Constitution. It comes from a letter responding to a Baptist church regarding the possible government interference with local churches and the establishment of a national church such as they have in England. Separation of church and state is used by atheists to restrict biblical interference with the creation of a secular state.

There are “day of the dead” rituals in almost every culture-ancestral worship as well as ritualistic death ceremonies. It’s not a “good” day as opposed to Halloween. @@christincommon5496 Our conversation was about Christmas, not Halloween. I'm from Europe, we don't celebrate Halloween, nobody does that, it's a purely American tradition. People do celebrate All Saints/All Souls if they are catholics, meaning they go to a church service commemorating the deceased an then to the graveyard to put a candle on their family grave and pray. Protestants do the same on "Eternity Sunday" which is at the end of November. None of this ever goes along with wearing costumes, candy and the like. It is a very serious and quiet day when catholics remember their loved ones and pray for them (which I personally think is no longer necessary, but that's what they do), while protestants on Eternity Sunday think of those who have already gone to heaven and pray for the Kingdom of God to come soon.

Gee, do stores like Christmas as well? Apparently, because retail sales in the USA over Christmas this year (2023) will reach $1 trillion, over 100 times what Halloween sales are. In any case, I wonder if this fellow knows that Halloween is really the evening before All Saints Day, a Christian celebration originally added to a springtime Roman holiday, but moved by one of the Popes to November 1st, to tack the Christian celebration onto the tail end of an ancient Celtic harvest celebration. The evening before All Saints Day was All Hallowed Eve, eventually becoming Halloween. Just another Christian holiday tacked on to an existing celebration, in the same way Christmas was tacked on to the Roman Saturnalia.

The New Testament makes it very clear that Christians are neither compelled nor forbidden to celebrate the Holidays of the old covenant, but we are strongly advised not to do so because it may lead us into temptation to trust in our own righteousness rather than that of Christ. Neither is it a religious duty to celebrate Christmas, it is simply a day when we consciously rejoice in the fact that God so loved the world that He gave his only son. This was some awesome historical and Biblical information about halloween, paganism, death, sacrifice. I truly enjoyed listening to this. But I am VERY sadden that there was still that compromising at the end. We are suppose to be a set apart people. Why do we continue to do things that look similar to the world under the guise of reaching souls. No where in the Bible will you find God, Jesus or his disciples reaching people in that way by participating in any form or fashion in paganism. Trunk-or-treat, fall festivals, etc... look exactly like halloween.. just a "christian" version of it. The Christian version is sacrifice to cover sins... none of these other things exist in that version. If that is not enough... we are allowing our kids and ourselves to compromise our temples (bodies) by gorging on another things that causes death... sugar and chemically created foods (as if you don't do that enough already on a daily basis). I will say again... I learned a lot. I just wish that we as Christians would draw a line and stop stepping over it or straddling it. it reminds me of what God said to 2 of the churches in revelations 2 - talking about Nicolaitans and Balaam who taught the lords people to compromise their faith by taking part in some of the pagan rituals of that day. And God said "He HATES" (Rev 2:6)

Yes, it is wrong to celebrate halloween as well as any other hollyday. They are all pegan. They are all man made, and have nothing to do with God. Many people think that because God let the Jewish people walk away, and do what ever they wanted meant that He was ok with it. Wrong. He was with the Israelite's (those who still obeyed Him,) and those who followed Jesus, since He came preaching God's word, but He has let the Jewish people (those who wanted kings over them) go there own way as well as those who refuse to follow the Prophets and apostles (ALL of them.) When the romans adopted a so called christian faith it was to make money, and keep the people under their tyrannical authority. Then everybody wanted a piece of the pie. Yet Jesus simply said He is the way. (not a priest, a rabbi, a monk, a minister, or any other name by which they call themselves. Jesus made it clear to those who listen with both ears it is His Fathers commandments that we need to follow if we wish to make it. Jesus said he came to magnify His Father's laws, Not do away with them. He made it very clear to those who have ears to hear and eyes to see. It's not this world we should be seeking. We need to seek Him not through man but rather through Jesus with the Holy Spirit, God bless all who truly seek Him.

So in the third century Christians decided to put Christmas "COINCIDENTALLY" (lol) right at the same time as the midwinter feasts that had been celebrated for thousands of years. Not least in the Roman Empire, where it was already a holiday where peopel decorated their homes, wore fine clothes, gave each other surprise gifts and had lavish feasts! Hmmm, what good fortune Jesus just "happened" to be born just then. And Easter is just the old pagan Ostara (they even kept the name), which is why there are so many fertility symbols like rabbits and eggs.

It's completely fine for Christians to celebrate Halloween. Just like Christmas or Easter.

@@christincommon5496 Halloween is a Christian holiday, friend. We honor loved ones who have died, as well as defenders of the faith who have gone before us. So, when you disapprovingly admonish somebody to pray for "discernment" over this holiday, you sound like the people Paul warns us about in Colossians. You will pardon Christians for listening to Paul over you, kk?

@@jamesmziegler halloween is not and has never been a “Christian” holiday. It is a day that glorifies death. Roman Catholics are responsible for bringing their beliefs in worshipping dead saints to us in the form of “day of the dead.” All one needs to do is research Halloween-the Druids and their practices and the origins of trick or treat and why everything is death, death, death. We celebrate LIFE, friend, not death.
