In this presentation, Ken Ham makes the case that we need a new reformation in the church. Similar to how the churches of Martin Luther were abandoning Biblical theology, so too is the modern church (just in a different way).
This special presentation by Ken Ham comes from the Answers for Pastors and Christian Leaders Conference: AnswersforPastors.org. For more information, please see this blog: answersingenesis.org/blogs/ke....

My mom raised me from when I was a little boy with Ken Ham and others like him. Even when I don't know the answer I put my faith in GOD and his Bible "KJV" no matter what. I don't care what or who wants to tell me I'm wrong. I've walked away from churches that don't take the Bible literally and I will again.

I bumped into Answers at a table at a NEA convention in Denver. I was so uplifted, forget being loaded down with bags of books and videos. I was going through the hell of addiction at the time, and it was a huge push toward deliverance. Discovering Ray Comfort via his 180 video that I got at the convention showed me a boldness for speaking the truth. I just need Ken Ham to know about a man who might be dead but for the prescence of that table at the convention and God's love.

So glad I was able to hear this today. I just heard another “pastor” preaching things they are not biblical but they were using verses in the Bible to make it seem true. I struggled myself to reconcile the words said until I heard this and God made it crystal clear. The bible is the way, the truth. If it’s not in the Bible it’s not biblical and it’s not true.

Folks don't realize that in his later years, Martin Luther renounced many of the things he wrote which were not in agreement with rightly dividing scripture. Like all of us, he grew in grace and knowledge of the Lord. He struggled coming out of Roman Catholicism. A great book on what Ken Ham is talking about is How Should We Then Live? By Francis A. Schaeffer...a view of the struggle between man's philosophy, art, thought vs. Biblical truth in history.

Yup!...but what they say to try to get around this is to argue the length of a biblical "day". WHY oh WHY would they put so much effort into trying to prove millions of years could be Biblical??? (and these are professing Christians!). It really DOES matter..like Ken says...what one believes. When a believer is willing to believe that God did what He said He did when He created the world in 7 days, then that person is rewarded and the Spirit of God gives them revelation for other things in the Bible!

Great word, thank you! Now in 2023, this world is further down that path then ever. Where in NSW, is there a church that believes God's word in Genesis?? We are moving and looking for one, even a home fellowship. What seems to be particularly horrible is when the ultra reformed view on salvation is preached, held to vociferously, (even tho T-u-l-i-p departs from scripture to man's interpretation of the ,"T.",) - they say, as Ken says here, "it doesn't matter about what Genesis says, it's myth or symbolic." What a lot of rot! I believe that this is stemming from arrogance on the part of Christian leaders who want to be well thought of by secular society. So many have conceded happily . And now the gay marriage issue etc is their last leg to stand on and many are falling down, (hopping is pretty unstable,) rejecting the Bible's words on this sad issue!

In my catholic church that I attend, the priest always wants to talk about the local sports teams. And when he does, he is able to get the attention of the parishioners. Because the people are looking for entertainment, not to learn the Word. I think our biggest failure is public schools. We left the teaching of our kids over to the govt, which was a big mistake. I am a victim of that and I didn't join the faith until I became an adult. Now I am very much interested in hearing and understanding the Word of God and the 'entertainment' strategies very much irritate me. All the singing also begins to irritate me because it takes away from the words of God. The music and singing takes up too much space in the mass. I enjoy going to early morning or noon time daily masses, because they don't do all the singing and entertainment, it is 30 minutes of learning the Word of God. I want less noise and more silent prayer. And I think we need to teach people to turn off from the world during mass and focus on saying prayers and listening to the Word of God.

It's funny, the first time I heard of this man was way back when that ark museum first got some early press. I thought he was cooky. Then they actually finished it, which I thought was neat but I still thought he was 'just another cooky christian'. But here I am, years later, enjoying these videos and finding myself respecting him for his convictions and even agreeing with him on some things. I think a secular mind needs time to see through the foolishness of secular dogma. Some might never grow past it, but others take the open-mindedness to heart and eventually start to understand that Christian worldviews aren't inherently foolish or hateful. The h8story alone is fascinating, but the current cultural aspect is a really curious topic that doesn't get discussed as much as it deserves. Usually I just see "Christian bad" or "Christian good", but whatever shift is happening right now is much more nuanced then that. There is a definite divide between Christians and secularists that is deep, and both have a very difficult time understanding the other. Thank God that it's so easy to explore new perspectives. Hopefully we can find the right way forward.

Much of the push-back we get against the truth of the Bible is red herrings. The REAL question is: "God is offering you complete reconciliation with Himself through Jesus Christ. Are you interested?" Because the truth seems to be that most people are NOT interested, and if they aren't interested in being reconciled with their Creator, then nothing else really matters. And even if you answer all their questions to their satisfaction, if they still don't want to be reconciled, it will not matter. This is why most of today's "apologetics" never come up in scripture. Peter and Paul never sought to convince anyone of the existence of God or the truth of scripture. Their message was one of available reconciliation: "the Kingdom of God is at hand. Are you interested? Your sin has estranged you from your Creator. Do you want to be reconciled?"

For all that is said in this context, to use words like "authority" is absolutely, positively, counter productive. As if down trodden people need more inferences of obedience within the rhetoric! Obedience implies control. God is already in control, so stop talking as if he requires us to stand like a soldier. You choose your life, that is our control, we suffer the consequences for bad choices. This is a healthier line of thought than simply stated obedience. People want to be free in thought, be given the chance, instead of being slaves to all the lies of the church and the world. The big overhaul of the church is to stop making Jesus a marketing term. Obey that first.

The reason Europe and the UK dropped religious faith was because of Hitler. He claimed his war was about Christian purity and his select Aryan race was better than any other. He said the 3rd Reich would reign for 1000 years, right out of the Bible. No wonder people fled from church and the Bible. And previously the church and the state/monarchy were horribly oppressive to the people. We, as Christians, still don't quite know how to operate in love, as Jesus taught us to. 11:19 There is another one that also pops up. _"If you believe all the gods of all the other religions are fictions, why aren't you consistent and apply that to your own religion as well?"_ The answer needs to take into account that neither all of the pagan gods in all their capacities (they tend to conflate very different things in false overall pictures) are fictions, nor all of the stories in the pagan mythologies. More than one of them have, for instance a Flood Myth. What happened? You will agree, we all descend from Noah and his three sons and from their wives. Hence all human populations started out with a memory or descending from people with a memory of the Flood. The one type of story that invariably or nearly are fictions is how gods and visible universe came to be. There is a huge difference between a God who freely creates earth from nothing, and monsters from earth on days five and six, and a god descended from a monster who kills it and creates earth of it (Enlil with Tiamat, Odin and brothers with Ymir). The one story is not a simple misunderstanding of the other, it's a substitute. There is a huge difference also with a god coming into being from water, and creating dry land by shining on it from above. Or with a cosmic egg in which the chicken is a first man, but some other things become heavens or earth or seas (I think this Chinese story, probably not accepted by all schools even before Communism, has a counterpart in Orphicism). _Such_ stories cannot be salvaged as even partly true. But _most_ in any given mythology will be stories of heros - and they will be men and women who really lived, and whose real interactions with God, devil and each other were partly misunderstood as interactions with gods, and in some cases they become gods themselves, like Siddharta Gautama is for Buddhism. Similarily, their gods, while all of them are "nothing" as the Pagans think they are, while all of them are "wood and metals" as the idols are fabricated, while all of them are "demons" as the idols worshipped are a credit given to the demons' power to deceive, each specific god may have several different types of origin: * a misunderstanding about God - I've already mentioned how "Enlil" worship misunderstands the Creator, Enlil and Enki, in conflict with each other, replace the one God who both sent the Flood and saved Noah, Brahma going to sleep and dreaming up the world is another way that Pagans misunderstand the Creator, and so on; * a man who is wrongfully deified (Hercules, Krishna, Siddharta, Apollo the Healer and his son and daughters) * a demon who deceives people in his manifestations, whether these be fake "theophanies" or seances (Shiva, Apollo the Delphic, or any Apollo other than the Healer) * an angelic being dealing with nature objects and phenomena (good angel for stars or demon for storms) is misconstrued as a deity who can licitly get worshipped) * social and psychological phenomena are deified (Ares and Bacchus or Venus and Jove).

On July 21, 1925, there was the famous Scopes Trail in which Creationism and Evolution was placed on trail. The results from this highly publicized case paved the way for evolution to be accepted in schools all over the US and the world. I think it is high time that on the 100th Anniversary of this trail, July 21, 2025, that the evidence for Evolution and for Creationism be put back on trail in a legitimate legal court of law. Of course, the focus of this new trail would not be on John Scopes and whether he was teaching evolution in his high school classroom in opposition to the law that prohibited it. But rather to publicly display the Creation viewpoint for all the world to see. We are in the Last Days of the this current world system. The 2,000th Anniversary of the Church of Jesus Christ in coming in 2029, not that this means the end of the world. However, The Last Days began with the prophecy of 2 Peter 3: 3-7 being fulfilled with the rise of evolution, because this is when "The Scoffers became willingly ignorant of Creation and of Noah's Flood" (my quick paraphrase of these verses.). We can use the date of 1859 as the date when this took place with the publication of Darwin's "On the Origin of Species". There are preliminary books that supported Darwin's book, but Darwin's book was the last piece of the puzzle that was put into place that gave evolution a some what sensible position of being valid, especially since their goal was to devise a system that contradicts "Moses'" Creation History.

@@frankierandle8779 Exactly - children might not read the Bible, or they might read it. Either way they can't win. The claim made by atheists is that reading the Bible comes top of the list of reasons why people deconvert. It's almost as if making the effort to read the thing puts you off Christianity completely. Of course this being the number one reason is anecdotal. They knew this in the past too: until less than five hundred years ago it was illegal in England to own a Bible in English. You could be tortured to death even though you could read, which was harsh in those days. Somehow the priests knew that only they should be able to select the bits that were relevant for their congregations. So people reading the Bible has historically been discouraged, and even when the King James Version was finally launched, it was written in extremely archaic language which only an educated man like a priest would be able to understand. Yes I agree that it's best to assume that your children won't read the Bible, and will simply accept that it's true.

The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; *he will magnify the law* and make it honourable. {Isaiah 42:21} Most churches teach in error today, that the law has been done away with in th new covenant.
@Chris_Sheridan
@Chris_Sheridan Жыл бұрын
@larrybedouin .. Isaiah 42:21 does not refer to the Law covenant - under the Mosaic Law 'no man may be declared righteous' - the Law condemned - the priestly arrangement and symbolic animal sacrifices were only temporary - the Law was intended as 'a tutor leading to the Christ' - it made the Jews realize their need for a savior (messiah) who would provide a release from the Law that condemned through the 'greater sacrifice' only made possible by the payment of Jesus' sinless blood. At Jesus' death the Law ended - it was 'nailed to the torture stake' - Christians are not under the Mosaic Law covenant. You need to study the bible properly.

Why _would_ God tell us a mere allegory about our origins? He knew that we would want to know how we actually came about. What reason would God have not to tell us the facts? What good does a piece of poetry or an allegory do, since it could be interpreted in almost any direction? He knew that one day atheistic scientists would say "Actually we came about through evolution", and we would be shocked that we had been gulled into taking a fairy story for the truth, and many people would then abandon faith in him. If God had used evolution, what is to stop him giving Moses a brief summary of evolution to write down? It doesn't require an particular knowledge of science to have a picture of evolution in your mind. Even children with no scientific knowledge can understand the basic idea of evolution. Many unscientific cultures have a religion or superstition that says that things evolved. It is quite easy to picture one creature changing shape into another creature. But God _didn't_ tell Moses evolution because he wanted us to know the truth.

@47:14 Ken Ham ".. it was the first blood sacrifice as a covering for their sin" ? Nowhere does the bible say that Adam + Eve were recipients of any blood sacrifice made on their behalf, symbolic or otherwise. As perfect humans who wilfully sinned there were no mitigating circumstances - the penalty was death; God had forewarned them of the consequence of disobedience. They were cast out of paradise - they were spiritually dead and now physical death was only a matter of time. No redemption was possible - judgement was final and God no longer had any dealings with them. So where does Ken Ham get the idea that God preached the 'gospel' (good news) at them in terms of an animal sacrifice? The Genesis account merely says that God provided them with 'long garments from skins', which were intended to replace the loin coverings that they had made by sewing fig leaves together. The issue was modesty - nothing to do with a 'blood sacrifice' - their actions were not atoned for in any way - they paid in full with their own lives, eternally (no redemption - no resurrection) For Adam + Eve there was no good news - no 'gospel'. The 'gospel' is only for redeemable mankind, beginning with Abel. The solution for those born from Adam + Eve after sin entered into the world was given in Genesis 3:15 outlining 2 seeds and the prophetic mention of a saviour (messiah) who would arrive in God's due time.

Having ancient barely remembered root is NOT same as BEING pagan. Think of it this way ... If the situation was reversed and pagans over wrote OUR holiday with their own no one would say, "Hey you're a Christian now, cuz you're observing an obscure festival they used to celebrate a thousand years ago." Additionally the Scripture IS clear on matters of conscience and tolerance Romans 14:2-6 "For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks." Please note that the one who restricts his liberty is here called ... "WEAK" AND in no case can you judge another's standing before God ... according to this passage.

The key to your questioning is knowing who He is, because He does not make a mistake and He does not do anything without a purpose.
