Coach K and Pelinka have a fairly long relationship is why he is there (in addition to knowing basketball). Lots of Duke guys became Pelinka represented players.

No one is coaching this team other than Lebron. You have 20 years to get that fact. Its just a fact at this point. Honestly you need Phil Jackson on a 1 year contract to just take James down so that he asks for a trade. otherwise you Lakers fans are going to be decimated.....with more bad decisions around that dude.

i started to watch jj's podcast with james, very interesting and informative. i think he would be an ok coach, but time will tell and this also applies to other coaches. jj knows the x's and o's of basketball and that's really important.

yeah hes good on a podcast.... Lets hand him the keys. As long as you all have lebron you have a coach. Anyone you give that title to is the blame taker. Like Byron said make James the coach and see it in real time.

I think Udonis Haslem's comments a few days ago saying that the players would be cynical of Reddick if he were the coach b/c of his relationship w/ LeBron is the reason you don't hire Reddick. Personally, I think the best option would be Chris Quinn. In a lot of ways, he is similar to Ham; a former player who was a tough-nosed role-player in the NBA, & a long-time assistant under a successful coach... The difference between the 2 is that Quinn comes from, IMO, a better coaching tree. Ham came from Budenholzer's coaching tree. Let's think back to how Bud's run with the Bucks ended... Bud's team underperformed in the playoffs, he was often criticized for in-game coaching decisions, failing to call timeouts at key moments in playoff games, failing to make in-game adjustments, & he was called out by his star player after losing a playoff game... Sound familiar??? Quinn comes from the Spoelstra coaching tree. Spoelstra is known as one of the sharpest coaches in the NBA, he gets his teams & players to perform above expectations, & established a "grinder" culture in Miami. That's the kind of coach I would want... If someone is looking for a LeBron connection, Quinn & LeBron never played together, but Quinn played for & coached LeBron's bestie, D.Wade, for several years, & LeBron's former teammate, Haslem, is vocally campaigning for Quinn, so there's that.

The lakers should have never fired Vogel in the first place. They should hire Cassell as HC & JJ as asst. coach problem solved

The lakers won the championship because they had great leadership in bron and rondo and a good group of veterans. They didn’t win because Vogel was the coach he a C+ coach at best

Here is my take. All of the current coaching candidates the Lakers are considering are just DOG MEAT coaches. Their performance would most likely not hinge on their coaching experience. Where has their current experience gotten them so far? Mediocrity at best. JJ Redick is unproven as a coach but the inexperience would most likely matter about as much as the current coaching experience matters to the rest of them. Not Much!
