I think abz has touble understanding that to be a great footballer you need a certain combination of these four things: 1.) Football Intellect (IQ) which encompasses vision and movement. 2.) Mentality which encompasses the will to succeed and to be great, and includes all the intangibles. 3.) Technical ability which encompasses passing, shooting, dribbling, etc. 4.) Physical ability which includes speed, power, etc. And obviously, you need a bit of luck when it comes to injuries, teams you're on, etc. Asking about technical ability undermines the question, since its only 25 percent of what makes a great footballer. I hate when people judge players purely on how smooth and with flair someone looked playing the game.

I don’t like the argument if he stays at Real Madrid for X amount of years he will have this many trophy’s and accolades, therefore he is the best ever. I watch him rn and in terms of quality of football, I don’t think he’s close to Bale or Rooney. He of course has years to improve, but in terms of on the pitch I’m not sure he’s close to what Bale and Rooney did. And when they switch to midfielders in general, he is not even close to the names they listed in terms of ability on the pitch
