For context....after the college series... the big 3, he was on top of the world. Then his mother died so he came out with 808's. After that was the Taylor situation and he got cancelled. After being cancelled he made MBDTF to show the world he was the greatest but it was largely ignored by mainstream media. He went villain after that.... Watch The Throne, Yeezus, Pablo. After these Albums he starts going through this transformative era.... Ye, Kids See Ghosts, Jesus is King, Donda 1, Donda 2. Now we are in the Vultures era.... sex, money, and drugs.

The album cover represents the death of the CD since streaming was getting big at the time. His late friend and genius designer who he designed this with, Virgil Abloh said: "It's an open casket for a format of music we were raised off of that'll never be seen."

Oh wow thanks, very artistic idea for the cover, makes lots of sense, also ik he talks about virgil in the album too
@tekin7351Күн бұрын
After MBDTF was so rich and diverse in sounds, the contrast to Yeezus is very extreme. He uses a very minimalist sound effectively by working a lot with distortion in this album. Hence, the cover. The cover is a picture of the Yeezus CD-minimalist to the core. But the this is just one of the ideas behind it.

Since you like anime and this album, I highly suggest watching Daft Punk's Interstella 5555 for a reaction. Daft Punk took their second album Discovery (their best album) and gave Toei animation 1.2 million to animate the entire album. There's no dialogue but it gives crazy meaning to all the songs that are already perfect. It was directed by Kazuhisa Takenouchi who directed a few Dragon Ball projects.
