Kenya is a modern african country. The safe is sometimes at night at some places not sooo tight. Prices are different. Go for butter or cheese in a shoppingmall u pay a lot. Others are cheap. I am never offended by people who try and charge me too much, or try and charge me a tourist rate for something that would cost a local a lot less. I understand that this is just their life, and they're trying to get by the best way they can, and at the end of the day if I can't afford something, or if I think something is too expensive, then I don't have to buy it. People trying to rob you isn't cool, but people who charge you a little bit more than the local rate for their service is fine.

Af what cost? Is Kenya that type of country that welcomes foreigners who exploit local kenyans? My observations in Kenya and Africa as a whole is they welcome people but most of the people have no regard to the local people. I see how the leadership says they want foreign investments but on what terms? Is it on skill/knowledge transfer to locals or is plantation type of investments where the foreigners bring in all skilled foreigners with no skill transfers to locals? An example is the Indians and chinese in kenya, they bring their investments but won't hire a local. They only hire a local for janitorial jobs and then repatriate their money to their home countries and to make matters worse, they are tax evaders. So welcoming people is not bad per se but don't do it naively. Even rich countries don't accept immigrants just randomly.

The hotel within a five-minute walk to the beach was, maybe, $85? and that was with a travel agent. I saw prices on the wall--maybe $70 per night. With a frig and coffee maker, and overlooking the ocean. Near "Mercy Church" too! I recommend it for European travel.

Also, I think you have failed to mention one usefull item for Kenya and that is Mpesa which I presume is the reason you didn't catch the train from Mombasa? Anyone planing on visiting Kenya should on arriving at the airport first buy a local sim and register for Mpesa as it just makes everything easier.

In the US its the polic you've got to fear more than the criminals
@volka21995 жыл бұрын
Only in a very select few places and even then police may screw you over but they wont abduct or kill you. With criminals you are much much more likely to be collateral damage in shootings or targets of muggings/murders than with police. I live near Paterson NJ and while locals dont give me issues/target me it doesnt feel very safe and I've heard shots fired, my friend's brother was hit and killed by a stray shot in a liquor store with no provocation. The simple mistake of being in the wrong place cost him his life. Not very safe in my honest opinion. If you look "privileged" you may be targeted and sometimes that means simply being white. Most of America even the cops are very nice people that get along with locals.
@volka21995 жыл бұрын
@Mustafa Yusuf I hate NJ drivers, honestly retards. I get angry sometimes but never react violently or dramatically, the shit drivers usually are the ones who get mad after you happen to be in their way after they almost cause an accident. Even then most instances they dont come out or anything. In the cases they do it is pretty unusual and uncommon.
