If you're going by a progression system then Kirito is extremely seasoned. I mean he got two years straight worth of experience in sao, he got a little bit of experience with alfheim online. He has experience in gun Gale now. And finally two more years to brush up his training in the underworld. I would estimate that to roughly 5 years worth of experience.

Dabir Uddin the rules are outclassed by the incarnations system, as shown by how everyone had their eyeball bursting after breaking the rules, this is the same for kirito who has one less restriction who at that point wasnt using the system at all, just like how in alo they could use the flight system without the controller purely by imagination, so its not wrong to say that alo players have a leg up in experience in using the powers of imagination in a worlf that is literally fuelled and created by the joint imaginations of the fluctlights

Really it’s when ever he is using the player assist system, designed to help link the mind of the player to the body they are logged into, so the body responds the way the player believes it should. Turns out that this system has an exploit in that is has a higher command level than other systems and when you create a strong enough mental image it can create an attack or do some action that is otherwise not coded in the system. As odd as this may seem to others, Reki's others work, Accel World, helped me put everything in order in my head. In that series they make is very clear that time is greater then any number when it comes to level. Even the idea of incantation is explained in Accel World, where they describe it as will and understanding (either of ones self or the world around them) over coming the bounds of the machine. It help put my mind in a place to see Kirito "super powers" being two simple things, drive to push and never give up and make connections with others no matter what.

It's actually really simple, and something Kayaba explains himself: His system, he designed it so that he can be defeated by somebody who exceeds his own limitations and predefinitions of what is essentially a power ceiling. Kirito was also treating SAO like a second world, not just a game, or a death game. Kirito was constantly striving to improve himself in ways that put his logic outside of the restrictions of a game world, and thus he eventually overcame those restrictions. Part of that being the dual-wielding skill. A skill that is given to "the fastest player" in SAO, in other words. But to technically be "the fastest player" in SAO, you'd simply have to tank your stats in agility, or dexterity, and that's it. Game logic says you now have the fastest attack speed, and possibly even movement speed. Hell, if we're going by game logic, Asuna is shown to attack much faster than Kirito, and even run at supersonic speeds just about in order to save Kirito's life at one point--So by the game's definition of "the fastest player", Asuna should have received the DW skill... Not Kirito. But Asuna didn't have the right mindset. No other player did really. Asuna was still very much relying on the systems of the game, even if some of her thought processes left the game and came up with ways to use the system to better herself, or the game's systems--Like how she used clever ways of crafting to create AMAZING food for SAO. None of those skills really went past cooking or crafting however, and extended in to battle or logistics. Especially early on, her mindset wasn't very 'Hero' or 'Push beyond your limits!' type; She even at one point wanted to sacrifice an entire village in order to defeat one world boss, and the only opposition was Kirito who adamantly refused with the proposed plan at every point. Case in point, the conditions weren't simply game-limited. You had to factor in personality as well. Kayaba wanted a sort of "true hero-esque" player to defeat him, and one that was not simply restricted by the system. He wanted somebody to exceed them. Kirito was practically the only player in all of SAO to meet that strict criteria. In addition, in Alfheim Online in the extended story after the main game, Kirito admits to the main group that, had a certain other player been in SAO during the deathgame, *she* would have received the dual-wield skill instead of him. While Kirito adapted and stopped treating the game like a game, and started treating it like a second life, there was somebody else in VRMMO's that exceeded him in the regards of "living each day in another world", and did it to such a degree that Kirito was able to see past her gaming façade and figure out "her secret" during a single battle. It's the main and only reason that Kirito, despite dueling her and 'losing' as he puts it, did not earn the "right" to learn her multi-hit skill. But, this has gone on long enough really. Why was Kirito so powerful in SAO? Because he wasn't treating it like a game, and he was not restricting himself to the limits of the games logic. He was constantly challenging the system, and he even had the right mindset for the system to grant him the unique dual wield skill. In a way, you could say the system was designed to specifically aid him in a pseudo-hidden quest to defeat Kayaba.

I'd definitely say my favourite "OP" Kirito moment has got to be the fight with the Gleam Eyes, when he reveals his dual wielding. The raw emotion of Kirito throwing himself away in pain, and giving literally zero fucks about wether or not he'd make it out alive just sends shivers down my spine in the best way ever

I guess Kirito's spirit bomb sword could be comparable to when he fought Volo Levantein but times a million. Volo was able to put enough force into his sword to be hardly cancelled out by Kirito's horizontal square because of the incarnation he had of imagining his ancestors putting their collective strength into the sword.

It depends on who you talk to as to whether Alicization is 1 or 2 seasons. Officially it's one long arc. Wikipedia treats it as one long season, but streaming services such as Crunchyroll treat it as two seasons (split between Alicization and World of Underworld). Me? I don't really care - I just usually end up binging the Alicization arc in its entirety regardless. As for Moon Cradle, be prepared going in that the POV character of this arc is Ronie Arabel, and Kirito, while a main character, is more of a supporter to her story.

Kirito is definitely a powerful character, not Overpowered like everybody says, but a force to be reckoned with? YES! His years of experience and knowledge that grows and grows as the series progresses is part of what makes him the best. Like all anime protagonists he relies on the strength of his friends and loved ones, that doesn't get tiring. He has is owns skills, like the absolute incredible dual weidling that's for him only. And that fact that he is a seasoned pro, allows him to always be a powerful foe in whatever game he is. So simply, Kirito is a normal protagonist that became very powerful with his own years of fighting and experience.

This season for the first time I actually gained new found respect for Kirito. I always watched SAO for the Dramatic fight scenes cool animations and Asuna (still the best girl and best character) Kirito finally feels like a real person. I love your videos and your explanations, and I agree with everything you said ^_^ If only more people could use their brains instead of complaining about characters, they would see that everything makes so much sense when we think twice about it and search for the right informations. I always thought that Kirito seemed like an "overpowered character" because he has great allies in the first place. People that motivate him to fight, who have his back and who give him openings. Combine efforts like you said. In the end it is his love for the inhabitants of the Underworld that granted him the better understanding of the powers of this world, and so he was in the best position to exploit the powers and capacities given by the Underworld to the fullest. In my understanding Kiritos deeper Understanding of the system was the peak of buttom up understanding through pure imagination, when in the opposite side administrators understanding was more of a top down machine learning process. The actuall had to find the system commands and study them by trial and error while Kirito emerged the purest form of imaginative power, what in the end shaped his "god like" power.

I watch the first two seasons of Sao in 2017. My biggest gripe then was how all over the plot was, but I still remember the important key elements. I watch all the rest of English Dub Sao this week and the two movies last night. Almost everything that you explain was mentioned in the original anime or hinted in the movies. I do feel that there should of been more episodes in the original game to fell out the story. But nothing in War of the Underworld seems out of place by this point. Even kiritos strength looks limited.

fave Kirito OP moment. Season1 Floor Boss 1 is defeated. . . Kirito gets awarded the Boss Drop of the 'black coat'... Kirito equips the coat... and tells the guy, "Yeah... I'm a... Beater..." and walks forwards... passing through the Party of Players... nobody touches him at all... Kirito goes through the Boss Room Exit... onto Floor 2. yeah... so badass. :D i know it's not a classic 'op moment Kirito' but i liked it for his 'badassery' :D

I'm glad that u made clear all of the Kirito is too OP bullshit everyone is talking about, at first I also think the same with that bullshit because the anime has skipped a LOT of things and details from the LN, and after reading the LN up to Vol 20 and the Progressive up to vol 4. well he did also get expirience by fighting and defeating bosses and eiji (top 2nd authenticated reality fighter) even if he had no interest in it at all. he also gained it from the last showdown against all sao bosses on the stage and by beating the last boss in sao (combined effort by friends) . well i am sad that it might end now This was a really great anime and i hope there comes any better anime than this in the near future

Hopefully, Reki will soon return writing SAO progressive. Really want to know what will go down in the Elf War Quest, and what the real reason is for the separation of Kirito and Asuna after floor 25, and what the reason was that they disagreed with each other every single encounter till the story of the progressors (or the murder investigation episodes in the first arc). I read that the dissension began at the end of the elf war (Sugary days), but I hope that Reki will soon write about it (and the progressive will be animated later, in style of FMA: Brotherhood).

@@FoxenAnime I hope not, but I think you're right. I really love his 'retelling' of the Aincrad saga, but with his retelling he's also screwing op the timeline. They are on lvl 7 in January and if I remember correctly at the end of February they are on lvl 25. Maybe he will do a sort of recap what happened from lvl 10 to lvl 25, or a short story on the fall of ALS en the rise of KOB and Asuna's breakup with Kirito's party of two. I think they will have an heated argument, probably about Kirito's recklessness:D
