Same, but we can look forward to sao progressive anime adaption and also the eventual anime adaption of unital ring, the sequel to the alicization arc. But it’s definitely gonna take a while before an anime adaption of unital ring arrives because there’s only 4 volumes of the unital ring arc released so far, so it is far from being finished in terms of the light novel, which means an anime adaption of it will take such a long time before it happens. For now I’m just gonna buy the translated light novels sao progressive, moon cradle (volume 19 & 20; side story covering events of the 200 years kirito and asuna spent in uw) and order the translation for the first volume of unital ring (volume 21) when it comes out during January next year. Can’t wait to see what happens after alicization in the unital ring arc

Definitely the best season for me. Peak SAO so far. Aincrad pulled me in, Mothers Rosario got me interested, Ordinal Scale suprised me and Alicization turned me into a huge fan. 8,5/10 for me for the entire season.

For me Sword Art Online Alicization was the best arc/season. I thought the Kirito-Eugeo relationship was really developed well and in War of UW it was good to see minor characters such as Ronye, Tiese and Renly getting the spotlight whilst Kirito was in a coma. But I agree with the teased Alice-Kirito romance being problematic. It was amazing to watch.

Absolutely fantastic video today, similar to you Foxen my biggest problem with Alicization was the way the anime portrayed Alice's character towards Kirito , just didn't sit right with me and felt like it was forced because she didn't even know him but oh well. Other than that the season was amazing and the animation was god tier, I absolutely enjoyed watching your videos breaking down each episode comparing it to the light novel. Aincrad arc will always be my favorite! The story between Asuna and Kirito (and Yui) against the pain and victory of the death game. Followed by Mothers Rosario, GGO, OS, WoU, Alicization. ALO is a far step behind. The cousin love is uncomfortable. If they left the part of suguha crushing on her bro out, it would have been great. Instead, have Kirito and Sugu struggling to connect after Aincrad and having a wall between them, while Leafa falls for Kirito. That would make the eventual collision work much better.

When it comes to character thoughts and inner monologues, it's very sad the fact that most just get cut off. I've just started reading the novels a couple days ago, and I instantly noticed how much better it makes certain scenes when you have Kirito's thoughts mixed in. Scenes when he's with Asuna, a lot of things that he doesn't actually say in regards to his feelings for her, but still thinks, makes those scenes so much richer and amazing (sorry I had to use this example, I'm a sucker for Kirito and Asuna xD, I simply love them together)

The "npc" have their own minds called "fluck lights" which are basically human souls that give a person their personality. Kirito being a child is basically his characters childhood. Not himself. Then that's when he meets the other npc's like eugeo. Then they cut down a big ass tree that eugeo's people were working on for generations and go to a magic school to study. Then they get arrested for killing two rapist that were sexually assaulting to young girls who basically were their maides. That's when we learn Alice (the person that they are looking for and the person they came to the school for) is part of the honerd knights or some shit like that. We then find out Alice got brain whiped and convinced she was sent from heaven to help and serve justice (all the knights are brainwashed) then they escape and get magic powers from a loli that is almost as powerful as the administrator (the god of the simulation who found out magic first) then they fight off Alice and Alice and Kirito get stuck on a building together so they make an alliance to make sure they don't die. Kirito reminds Alice of her old life (she has a sister and a family and a past) then Alice breaks the "code" which is basically the law installed by administrator. Once she does this she is allowed to be free. I'm tired of writing so go ahead and watch the series to figure the rest out.

Holy crap what a video! I’ve been missing SAO lately I needed this lol. Great detailed review Fox, for the most part, I agree with your positives and not so positives. I really enjoyed season 3 as a whole, beautiful animation, music, and audio, the series never gets enough credit for which frustrates the hell out of me, the first half especially was probably the strongest for me, Eugeo, Quinella, Alice, etc were all done really well , so many great characters overall. The Integ knight introductions, the armor , the visually stunning battles were fantastic as well, cuts aside the first half was awesome. 2nd half was a little bit of a mixed bag for me, the battle was awesome, the integ knights had fantastic moments, Bercouli had a truly amazing moment, Asuna & Sinon's entrances were fantastic, Leafa’s bloody battle was fantastic as well but Asuna's fight was the true highlight for me in the 2nd half. That being said there choices to keep certain things in and what to cut especially around Asuna really took its toll on me by the end, yeah she had wonderful moments, she looked beautiful and her reunion with Kirito was still very very special but it still frustrated me by the end it left me a little empty especially when compared to previous seasons and movie endings, considering there won’t be any more core SAO for a long time potentially, I really wish the end focused a little more on Asuna & Kirito maybe something original anything... That being said complaints and frustrations aside I really really enjoyed the season a lot, it was no small feat to adapt this whole arc and it was quite the 2-year ride packed with great moments amazing and truly sad and I am going to miss it, hell I already do miss it. Thankfully we have progressive to hold us off until a UR happens. QOTD - season 2 is my favorite because of my favorite Arc Mother Rosario

From my perspective of not having to read the light novel, it was great (7/10). I agree with you when you said that it felt rushed because that is what looks to me as well. For a starter, I can't understand how things work in the underworld. For example, the academy, I wish they expanded it a little bit more instead of like introducing a character one after another. It makes no sense to me. I really thought it would have at least two seasons to complete this arc. I just couldn't relate to some characters because of the time they gave on them. But still, It feels great to have the SAO to be up to this point in anime. I really thought they were not continuing it after Fairy arc. For my favorite arc, it would be the mother's Rosario as well. I felt the connection between Yuuki and Asuna and also her mother.

If Aincrad arc was alone then would be my number one, but I didn't enjoyed Fairy Dance arc, so Alicization is right now number one for me, it was a good ride, a very good adaptation, but some of the cuts bother me, overall, I'm thankful that it exist and now begin to pray that progressive is a good adaptation, Aincrad have a special place in my heart, but some of the fan service kill me.

SAO Alicization was solid from the start with proper world building, we have a 'human' kirito, amazing character development (Eugeo is best example) and interaction coupled with consistent animation and it by far the best SAO season in my opinion. But i would like to add that towards the end, it took a turn towards the "Power of Friendship" which i dont mind if placed properly, but it was just repeatedly being used cause some sort of Ex Machina for our heroes which is kind excessive.

So I loved sao I think sao is my top arc then mothers Rosario then the ordinal scale movie probably the reason I loved this season so much was because for 2 years every Saturday I was awaiting the next episode but the thing i hated was Alice and kirito love tease I can not picture anyone else with kirito other than asuna also i really disliked having to wait 10 fricking episodes for asuna to get in the underworld but this season made me realize I love sao so much one of my top 3 anime and I love it so much that I'm reading the light novels now i can see more anime cuts and see the story more fleshed out but anyways I love sao and I cant thank you enough for doing those weekly reviews because after I watch a episode I watch your video and it really helped with the ups and downs of the anime well thanks anyways (p.s I did dual blade that like button)

I did feel like so much more could have been done with Alicization, but with the 47 episode limit, I'd say that they did the best that they could. Alicization is by far my favorite arc.

I honestly thought Alicization was really slow and boring. Towards the end of Alicization and the beginning of WoU, I thought it was really picking up and was the best SAO has ever been. Alicization walked so that WoU could run; Alicization felt really slow because there were so many info dumps but knowing that info made WoU better

i've got give it my perspective? oh your challenge is accepted sir. 0 manga. 0 light novel, for me. i'm an anime only guy for 3 decades now so here i go 100% all out. first of all, Foxen THANKS! for the tidbits and scraps and pieces of light novel that YOU found missing in SAO anime or needed more depth/coverage. total props to you bubba! you are a consummate pro and my favorite anime guy. Aincrad, hands down. first season. #1. THE HOOK. that season grabbed me by the guts, not in the lip like a fish... i swallowed that lure whole. i'll be an SAO fan for life. as i mentioned in your 'Kirito God Mode OP' video. floor 1 boss, the coat, 'I am... a... Beater...' and he walks out. Top Tier Badassery Right There. you've said it, i've seen it. The Death of The Moonlit Black Cats... their Leader's Suicide... and Sachi's Christmas Message to Kirito. gut wrenching, bawling, snot running out of my nose when i first watched it. i seriously, owning the DVDs and watching/owning S1 and S2 and now online S3 p1&2 still after 4 or 5 run throughs. i still get pains in my heart when i watch The Moonlit Black Cats. also, when i watch my BR of ReZERO S1 Rem dying twisted after being tortured by Petelgeuse in front of a chained up Subaru. Rem inching forwards with her broken limbs and freeing our 'mindfucked' hero from those shackles and confessing her love to him with her dying breath. to the depths of my soul... i know The Moonlit Black Cats and Rem dying from being tortured will leave a mark upon me. (yes yes! i totally agree, running War of Underworld potato Kirito Torture and Recovery alongside Subaru not!! not NOT a good competition in the anime! Subaru out 'mindfucked' Kirito in my opinion) #2 ALO... many reasons... and those reasons are four scenes. 1 you showed it in your 'Kirito God Mode OP' video Sept. 11, 2020 ... going to the top of the Assault the World Tree Room for the first time and Golden Eyes Kirito is juuuust to the ceiling and PINCUSHIONS! swords all in his back and with a snap of the fingers Kirito is a lil soul-flame and all his effort is for naught. 2 Sugou, in Asuna's hospital room, torturing Kirito. rage. i've felt it thousands upon thousands of times as a soldier years and years ago and focused it in ways that scare people. that scene, back then the first time, gave me that burning gut filled with death fire and brimstone for that man right then and there. even today, i get an ember watching that. 3 Sugu/Leafa... falling in love with her 'brother' Kazuto and setting him aside to fall for the BlackSwordsman/Spriggan/Kirito. that scene, after she figures him out, and he figures her out and she's screaming and crying and confessing to him IRL about all of it. i've honestly watched the Japanese one ON my disks alongside the English one and... i feel the anguish and doubt and despair in Ms. Morris and Ms. Taketatsu's voices. i have to choose the English because it cuts my guts like a knife each time but Ms. Taketatsu... wow... those ladies are a frog's nose hair apart in who's better in that scene. 4 you probably guessed it, Kirito using Kayaba Akihiko's Cardinal System SUPERUSER Privileges to torture Sugou's Fairy King Oberon character. #3 Caliber. Klein. the comic relief scenes again and again and again! guy falls for Freyja... she turns into Thor. then. the Norns... Verthandy, Urd, and Klein goes for the 'baby sister' Skuld.... and of course i watch that episode and what comes to mind? 'Oh! My Goddess' Belldandy, Urd, and Skuld... no matter how many times i see Klein flirt with an AI Norse Goddess BUT the visual of a tiny pre-teen, long black haired, tsundere, techno-geek girl with a big-sis-con, and an itty bitty hammer head atop a long long long thin polearm comes to mind... with her beating Klein over the head with it... and i gotta chuckle. as for everything else anime SAO other than those 3. uhhhmmm... i'm happy, i'm sad, i'm entertained, i'm glued to the PC/TV screen, every scene, every moment, every week when a new episode would come out. there's something to this show... it just keeps me going every time i watch it. even when i know what i've seen before is in my head, when i watch it, as long as i give it months and months and months between re-watching it... it still grabs my attention and holds it in that infinitesimal space between the media and my mind. when i read books like SAO's anime... like Jim Butcher, or Benedict Jacka, or Robert Jordan i vanish, what is Me, what is I, what is The Self, it Vanishes. and the story moves through what Is Gone. THAT is storytelling's pinnacle.

I love both Aincrad arc and Alicization, and probably the best for me! War felt rushed and all over the place so I dunno how to feel about it, but the ending and most notable fight scenes you mentioned were satisfying. I hope they bring the animation quality to Progressive.

Thank you for clearing up all the Kirito and Alice scenes...At one point I really hated Alice..because of her behavior towards Kirito. THAT'S WHY I decided to read the light novels so I catch all of cut scenes from the Anime If I had to rank the all the series seasons it would be Aincrad, ggo, fairly dance, Aliciazton, wou.. my favorite New character was Eugeo..im really sad he died. Because he was like Kirito's male best friend. (Side from Klein)...I love the series over all but I was really upset with all cut scenes that I was anticipating. Underworld that was my least favorite of all..
