@@RDAmidwest Bill B. Would draft a guy in a high round and he would be gone in a year or two. Kirk has not won in the big moments when it matters. It's not good enough. He also could take less money to get talent around. He doesn't do that either.

@@karenhardie1132 Playoff record is a TEAM statistic. Use personal, position stats to evaluate individual players. By your current argument guys like Dan Marino & Fran Tarkenton were just garbage. Anyway, that's what I see as a major flaw in that approach to analyzing quarterbacks.

We definitely cant pay Kirk $50m...but if we could have extended him last year for reportedly less than $40M a year so long as we guranteed him past 2025, Kwesi really screwed the pooch there.

If they draft a quarterback KOC must design plays to the quarterbacks strength. KOC wasted Dobbs tried to make Dobbs a pocket passer- wrong!

KOC is a system coach, clearly, and only a quick read, 3 step drop pocket QB will do. This seriously limits the Vikings on QB choices. This is complicated by KOC trying to be the HC and OC with a 70/30 split on passing over rushings.

One Wild Card win, achilles injury, 36 years old. It’s seriously insane if Minnesota resigns him. The truth is Kirk isn’t getting the interest he thought he would from other teams for the Vikings to up their offer. Denver is a plant by Cousins’ team because they need a third team in the mix to create leverage … makes no sense to pay Wilson $39 and Kirk $40-50M. Atlanta’s offer isn’t what he wants either. Kirk is an HOF’r, but only in contract negotiations. This is all just Kirk using the media to create leverage against the Vikings. He doesn’t want to go anywhere else and learn a new system, leave LOC who he likes, and leave JJ who he loves throwing to. The Vikings need to move on because this team isn’t winning a SB with Kirk because his contract is too much of limitation with him not being good enough to overcome team deficiencies due to cap space. Bandaid off slowly?? They shouldn’t have offered him a second contract because he couldn’t make the playoffs with a team that was in the NFC title game the year before.

The music is about to stop. Will Cousins have a seat left when the music stops? Minshew and Fields seem to be the only realistic starters left IMO. Unless a dark horse like the Raiders step up, Cousins may only have Minnesota or Atlanta left. Neither will guarantee Cousins what he wants. If Atlanta trades for Fields or picks up Minshew, Cousins will be the only decent choices left.
