When knowledge is a subject of mind and these all are beyond mind..how can knowledge be sufficient.? Data second stage is information, 3rd stage is knowledge, 4th stage is experience and 5th stage is Realisation. Eg- a kid can also have information how to drive a car in a manual but he/she can't drive.as that's just data and information. When he actually learns how to drive- that is the knowledge but still he has to be so cautious..not realised yet..but after practicing driving, he gains experience and then he doesn't need to put his mind while driving..it happens automatically like changing gears of a car. That phase leads to Realisation..

One has to be a adhikari (eligibility) to assimilate the Vedantic knowledge. How to qualify. 1. Pancha maha yagna-Deva yagna, Pitru yagna, Brahma yagna, Jana yagna and Bhoota yagna. Then 2. Sadhana Chatusthya Sampeti. a) Viveka, or Wisdom b) Vyragya or dispassionate. c) Desire or Mumukshwata. d) Disipline or Shataka (6) sympathy The first one is called Karma yoga and the second is called four important sadhanas and qualities requird.

Gyana and karma are not different. Gyana karma kriya bhakti are all steps of a stair case. Interconnected and incomplete without each other. There can be a different approach for this path. But the path is the same. Its about understanding the gyana and turning it into upayoga as a part of life and make your life in a way to attain gyana. Its important the vision of the person and the place he is walking is correct before he tries to understand the trees of the forest. The mis understanding is, karma is not action. Action would be pravarthana. Karma means work. Even chintana is also a karma. This does not mean you do it for others or for yourself. You do it for dharma as in righteousness

Jnana and karma are different since former is dependent on the object of knowledge and karma is dependent on the agent. Read the commentary of Shri Shankaracharya on the Brahma sutra 1.1.4.

Let me give the answer. But before that Love to Swamiji !!!! When you have to burn "something", you have to set it on fire. For that you need a "fuel". That "something" are vasanas. That "fuel" is knowledge (be it vedantic or of any philosophy or of any religion) But what when all vasanas are burnt? Do you still need knowledge? Trust me no. If you keep the knowledge, it takes form of vasana!!! Now that might sound weird. But reality is weird. Any unnecessary though is vasana!!!! Unnecessary knowledge is also vasana!!! We forget that with fire, firewood also become ash. It can no more used for fire. But we dont do that with knowledge, we keep chewing it in mind. To be precise, once all vasanas, anger, lust, greed or to generalize, uncontrolled thoughts are ensured to be vanished, we should stop thinking of knowledge. Meaning we should be thoughtless!!!! Even void of thought "I am this body", "I am Mr. Ms. abc", forget about what any branch of knowledge say about anything. That is what is called as "PURE" consciousness. Purity has no place for any knowledge or anything else, it exist alone by itself. And that is the final state!!! Thoughtless, pure awareness, pure silence, As swamijy said "I am that **aadi shanta**" at 14:53. As it precedes and follows the prime sacred syllable OM: om SHANTI SHANTI SHANTI. Note that without silence even om cannot exist. Pierce the OM go to its origin and you will find there is only silence!!!: silence silence silence a u m silence silence silence a u m silence silence silence That silence is turiya, thoughtlessness, and conviction that silence is I am, fully self sufficient, which can only be realized by itself, meaning only by becoming thoughtless / silent / pure consciousness. Once all thoughts gone, what will shine forth can only be pure consciousness!!! No extra effort will be needed. Just be in that state for more and more time, and you will realize that consiousness doesnt need anything, its self sifficient and it is you!!! Finally, love and pranam to all gurus like swamiji.
