Your content and how you approach each destination with an easy going open mind continues to make your channel one of the must watches in KZbin land. For me watching out for your updates is a priority as there are so many out there that are not worth the effort.. From 1392 to 1897, the Joseon Dynasty ruled Korea. Buddhism was the state religion before Yi Dynasty Korea, but Confucianism became the state religion in Yi Dynasty Korea. On the other hand, in South Korea, Christians account for about 30% of the total population, with more followers than Buddhists, who account for about 20% of the total population. Christians are the largest religious population in South Korea. In Korea, the number of Christians has increased since the end of the 19th century. During the Joseon Dynasty, Buddhism was suppressed, and temples only existed in the mountains. On the other hand, there are many Christian churches in cities, so I think that Bill and Heather may have also seen Christian churches in places like Seoul. However, although Christianity was introduced to Japan in 1549, Christians still make up only about 1% of Japan's total population. The Japanese have actively introduced science and technology from Europe and the United States, but have continued to preserve their traditional culture.

Thank you for sharing that additional history! I confess that if we saw a Christian church while in Seoul, we didn't recognize it as one. We'll have to seek one out next time we're in Seoul. It's so interesting to learn the religious differences in history between Korea and Japan. Thank you!!!

Just a few notes here. Didn't Shoguns and Daimyos kill the Christians to their de-facto extinction in Japan? Isn't the oppression on Christianity the very historic background of the Kagure Kirisitan? (the hidden Christians)

It is recommended to visit the ancient ruins cities of Gyeongju and Jeonju. In addition, it is recommended to take a walk while watching the sunset in Songdo, Incheon, and there are many things to see in Busan. If you have time, we recommend visiting Dokdo, a Korean island.
