On another topic with Atlas still being in Greece, alive holding the world, the simple answer would be, If Atlas wasn't still there, then the Greek world wouldn't have been able to start rebuilding like it was shown on the vase and other moments, Also if time was altered and Atlas was taken out into the future from the past, then the pillar that holds the world would have never been destroyed and also Persephone wouldn't have helped Atlas to destroy it and Helios wouldn't have been captured. Just wanted to give my thoughts on the topic.
@jhevgainz23073 жыл бұрын
Cory did kinda hinted that kratos taking the titans from the past changed the present.
@ghostmanhunter1133 жыл бұрын
That's where the problem comes in because Persephone wouldnt then have been killed by Kratos because Atlas wasn't in the picture and therefore my question is then, why is Persephone still dead in God of War 3,which also tells me, that Kratos didn't bring Atlas forward in time. I mean there is also that scene in God of War 2 where the gods and titans battle and a four armed titan, probably Atlas, is seen taken down by Hades and his soul got ripped out and absorbed. Kratos could have brought the body forward because Atlas is seen that he is still alive even though his soul was ripped out. But he is not in the 3rd game. Therefore Kratos did not send Atlas forward in time because Atlas soul was taken from him way before Zues started the vortex with the blade of Olympus, and Kratos only came to the rest of the survivors, just before Zues destroyed all the titans.

@@ghostmanhunter113 it's been confirmed some time ago that the gods are sort of independent of time. By becoming a Greek god of war, he was made immortal by default. One of the writers, Matt Sophos, said that the Norse Gods are also immortal, & that Idunn apples are just their favored food. I’m actual mythology is where the Norse Gods eat the apples for longevity. Atreus was surprised by how Magni didn’t come back to life ( the gods have the luxury of not needing a Valkyrie escort back to Valhalla ), but since Odin corrupted the Valkyries, the gates of Helheim & Valhalla are closed, so no revival for the gods.

Theory: Odin magically removed Loki from the Norse mythos because he knew that Loki is always the catalyst for Ragnarok in every cycle. This implies that Odin, while not retaining memories from each Ragnarok, may have been made aware of its cyclical nature and gotten better each time at analysing the variables through his divine insight. This explains why he would continue to seek control over Jotunheim while sending Baldur to hunt down Faye, then Kratos and Artreus. Loki may however be inevitable...

I think there's a very simple explanation to all of this that people are overlooking. I feel that it's as simple as Kratos got his G.O.W. powers back after killing Zeus. Maybe even inherited more.

Two points I want to raise. First when Athena says "their family" she necessarily refer to a person killing their own family. Since "their family" here can also mean Gaia, Zeus, and Athena's family, i.e the Gods since they're all siblings or related in some way. Secondly having a one above all God kind of Entity like Ao is plausible but contradictory to many creation myths. Since that would mean you would have to go to a Amortal time before the primordials. That means that either all Pantheons that exist and control their specific region share a common ancestry. Which is a whole different can of worms.

I’ve assume that was a metaphor for Kratos losing his “free will”, essentially becoming a slave to Ares and later Olympus. It was only due to his actions in God of War 1 that he finally broke the chains on him when he killed Ares. Ascension goes into detail on it as he literally made a unbreakable oath to Ares, and the whole point of that game was to break that particular oath so Kratos can actually go on his revenge quest.

Theory #1: I believe that by slaying the Sisters of Fate, he claimed their powers that work in the way that even without him knowing he wields them, he controls his fate. The explanation for his survival at the end of GOW3 is simple - his primary intention was not to kill himself, but to release the hope to the people. He was aware of the hope being trapped in him because Athena got mad because he did not give it to her. So, I believe to a certain point that his destiny is his to decide. Theory #2: Balrog is still going for the “3 wise men” culmination of the series, making all the characters believe that there is a single God responsible for controlling the fates of all. So yeah, Tyr, Kratos and possibly the Egyptian variant will spread a monotheistic religion to all of the realms.

Having the power of the old god of war theory could be debunked due to the fact he sacrificed his god power (along with being stolen some for the colossus) to the Blade of Olympus. As for manipulating fate, the Sisters MIGHT have a hand as Kratos didn't exactly kill all of them as 2 of the sisters were trapped in the past. Something we don't know if they're just trapped at the exact time and place Kratos defeated Ares or if they just found their way back to their temple and get back to work. My theory is that Athena herself could be the one keeping him alive. Remember, she's the only god that isn't destroyed like the rest in Kratos' path of revenge, she became a spirit instead of just being dead ("ascended to a higher existence" she said). You might think she's powerless, but don't forget she was still able to casually turn Kratos' damaged blades into the Blades of Exile. Her motive to keeping Kratos alive is to take revenge for his defiance by releasing the power of Hope back into the world.

In my mind it's real simple: If Kratos could kill Ares, then someone else could just as easily kill Kratos.

To be fair that pillar ares threw not only impaled him but almost bisected him and definitely destroyed his spine. It was a much more fatal blow than baldurs.

I am willing to beleive that it is the sisiters of fates behind this which would aso explain why Kratos actually didnt kill 2 of them, they let him beleive that he got rid of them, so he could accompish his vengeance and kill Zeus. In my opinion this would make sense as to how Kratos managed to get to the sisiters and defeat them (even if they control fates) and also explain why they are the only ones that Kratos fight and actually dont kill, they had to make him beleive that he was in controle of his fate and beat them to not make me him think that he is being controled by them in truth. My theory is that they planned this all along, to be trapped and thus not killed to then continue to actually controle his fate, because we know that Kratos never realy controlled his fate, even after defeating the siisters what he did was to fullfil the prophecy that was told in ghost of sparta, and what if thesisiters actually wanted to make this prophecy fullfilled which sound ike how the sisiters did with Cronos Why would they do that? I dont know, but i am willing also to beleive that the sisiters of fates are the same for greek and norse mythos (it is because they are very similar in nature in the both mythos)

I like discussing this topic, my take on it is, first off all he can’t kill himself hes cursed, but I think it’s the power of hope, he’s I think the only 1 with it in the world n that is kinda like a curse too, Baldur was even so confused n frustrated why kratos just wouldn’t die, it’s like the hope just overpowers him in times of need n acts like a portable fate changer
@senecavanzandt44253 жыл бұрын
What about that old caretaker from the PSP Ghost of Sparta game?? It seems to me he was an important person like an oracle or a higher being that knew more about Kratos than he was letting on. He could be the one keeping Kratos alive...
@johnsittema20832 жыл бұрын
I have a theory. What if when Kratos killed the fates HIS fate was never chosen. Since there was no one to choose his fate he just keeps on living until he is killed by that of a god or he just kills them like he did the Greek pantheon. But at the end of the day Corey barlog said he was still a god and still is immortal.
@vsGoliath963 жыл бұрын
It would seem to me that Kratos and the other gods are immortal in a similar sense to the elves of Tolkien's mythology. They cannot die by old age, cannot be taken by disease, and are essentially superhuman with incredible powers. Driving a sword through them though? That works MOST of the time.
@nickk65013 жыл бұрын
I think after he killed the sisters of fate he gained time manipulation. His armor recovers as well as his wounds. He is also cursed to never be able to die by his own hand and that means he can't give up and allow someone to beat him in a fight and can't forego a tool or ability. So if he's injured he must heal because it is a tool he has. But that's just a theory. A game theory...

This is a long shot but fey might be fjorgyn odins wife it would explain why fey manage to thwart so many of Asgard’s plan because why would Odin suspect his own wife and she knew Brock and sindri because they crafted her sons hammer it would also make Thor and Atreus siblings which is what they are in the real mythology she might have faked her death to leave Odin because of the monster he was becoming
