It's often in the third year that you hope a young QB makes 'the leap' and become truly elite. Much like Josh Allen last year, Murray appears to have joined that elite group. I just hope he stays healthy because it is fun to watch.

I noticed on the last play, Rondale Moore was initially coming across the middle, saw Kyler was scrambling and changed directions and ran to the flat. Kliff says they practice this every week.
@professorzoom78003 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely correct. it was mentioned by Aikman on TNF with the jaguars, Lawrence kept getting in trouble and escaping the pocket to try and extend plays, but all 3-4 of his receivers, whoever was on the field in that package would run in straight vertical horizontal lines across the field making it WAY too easy on professional DBs to cover them after the play breaks down. but one of the strengths that i give kingsbury a ton of credit for is preparing his receivers for scramble drills and plays. As soon as Kyler escapes, they almost instantly readjust their assignment and change directions to where ever they worked on, typically a deep corner post ish and a flat. but also hopkins made a great point that it’s about more than just getting open on those breakdown plays, you need to get open and IN Kylers line of sight. you have receivers sometimes get open and think they are helping but if they are positioned where the QB cant see them it’s zero help. and ur right, the cardinals have been doing this extraordinarily well.

I’m sure just going from Andy Dalton to Kyler Murray was incredibly rejuvenating for Green. He seems to have a whole new fire about him. Being stuck on the Bengals all that time really killed his spirit I think.
@pamagee20113 жыл бұрын
@@claymac7895 Green went to the playoffs five times with the Bengals, with Andy Dalton. His QB last year was Joe Burrow. I think the Bengals were afraid to take a chance that he would finally get back to form, and had their eyes on Ja’Marr Chace in the draft. I wish they would have kept him and drafted an OL but the pick is popular.
@user-uo1qr6vn1q3 жыл бұрын
Weapons, weapons, weapons. Rondale Moore was wide open behind Green on his TD. Christian Kirk was wide open in the right corner on Williams’ TD. And because Kyler went elsewhere with his throws and they also ran the ball so effectively, both Moore and Kirk (who have both been very good this season) were essentially non factors in that game. And they didn’t have to be. With all those weapons, QB included, AZ is going to be very difficult to slow down this year.

Great video! I'm really looking forward to your next video on Lamar Jackson. I remember your previous videos focused on his shortcomings with recognition and decision-making when he's being blitzed with numbers, so I'm very curious to see how he's progressed this year. His yards per play last game against the Broncos decreased significantly with each additional rusher, so I'm curious if it's Lamar's fault or just the O-line playing with 2 replacement level tackles. Thanks again!

5:23 you DONT want hop to draw the safety over, you want hop 1 on 1. any other receiver sure, but the design is for hop 1 on 1.
@professorzoom78003 жыл бұрын
yeah i had a similar question on that play. at first it looked like they thought i’d hop doesnt draw that safety, and kyler still doesn’t like the look 1 on 1, edmonds would possibly be open in the flat. but edmonds gets picked up almost immediately by the MLB i think, maybe Outside LB - but either way Kylers basically almost releasing the ball before all that happens anyway like he made his decision up that he had a big enough window to hit williams. i’d love to be in a monday meeting room with them going over what this play was suppose to be, or if this was it because it worked obviously, but kylers had a few this year where he’s already winding up before plays are fully developed. i’m not sure if he’s just that advanced now he’s seeing things that well, or just kinda getting lucky. i doubt it’s luck obviously because his completion % is absurd but i’m curious what’s going on that’s made his decision making speed skyrocket this year it looks like

@@professorzoom7800 There is a progression system you go from one receiver into the next if you like what you see then you go. So he probably saw maxx 1st and liked it. Kliff let’s him have free reign on choices.
@professorzoom78003 жыл бұрын
@@86puffpuff86 true. i think ur right. now that you say that, that’s exactly what kliff told kyler on that hail murray play against the bills last year. Play was meant for the streaking post player to then get out of bounds, but kliff said if you like Hops positioning, take it. and he did. he has made some lightning fast reads this year. idk if i’ve seen anyone grow that part of their game so much in a short time. Not most improved player, but most improved decision making. Josh Allen i think was more mechanical issues than reading defense. so plenty of guys take huge leaps obviously, but it’s kinda rare that someone goes from average or above average to being almost excellent in a few seasons. he was never terrible to begin with. and maybe it was the play calling, but he’s the 4th highest rated QB INSIDE the pocket this year, and top 3 i think against the blitz. He’s processing things really really well. of course he will always be a scrambler, but i truly believe his preference is to throw the ball. and for someone that athletic and fast, to also be the 4th best pocket QB is just insane. i’m biased, so maybe it’s just me 😂

@tvtda13 жыл бұрын
i personally think its safer to say he's still the 2nd best QB in his own division (for the moment) just based on resume. Either way tho, your boy is gonna have to go see those Men and earn that claim the hard way. (at least brady and rodgers this year if not mahomes with a chip on the line) talent and skillset wise i say he can be #4, he might be #6 or #7 tho at that position. lots of choices, Are you sure you're gonna start your team with the little dude who hasn't stayed healthy?
@tvtda13 жыл бұрын
Kylers got next, and i'm not sure hes gonna win MVP this year. He's got some competition even in his own division and conference possibly and he still gets Lucy goosey with decisions at times, but he's definitely got next, and he'll at least win 1 at some point. The reason i'm SO confident is just, When i hear NFL players talk about Kyler, they talk about him like Kobe and Chris Paul talk about Devin Booker. like that's the parallel atm. Those two, some dudes have an easy going feel. Herbert for example gives you a chill vibe. Kyler has that silent assassin feel to him tho.
