T8 definitely even though he says t7 was “real tekken” dosent change the fact that he be nowhere near blue ranks in t7. He also mains vic a whole new character one that embodies everything wrong about tekken characters (since he has multiple weapons) and is one of the easiest newcomers. 2:15 To be fair, pokes across the board were a lot stronger in tekken 7. Tekken 8 nueterd them directly with frame nerfs on block. Only some characters remain fine due to having other stuff unique to that character. Most characters got their jabs, df1, and universal d3/d4 nerfed more by the addition of another -2- to -4 frames. And the indirect nerfs to pokes are by making power crushes mostly safe, ridiculously strong and track at least 1 way decently well. There's also heat and tracking grabs. So if he doesnt poke as much anymore, its because its not as cost effective in Tekken 8 with an exception of a few characters. On a side note, yeah his defense was always bad. Tekken 7 just made it look really obvious because its difficult to continue aggression indefinitely. Which gives the opponent more chances to play their hand. Having LTG react to it.

I think due to how offensively oriented T8 is, he looks better than he does when he played T7…he can kinda plus frame his way in T8, but let him get to the upper echelons of the ranked system, he’d honestly be put down a peg cause I know once you get around that 160,000+ Tekken Prowess or those who simply lab the game, his gameplan kinda falls apart once he goes against those with actual matchup knowledge. But I highly doubt he gets to those ranks cause he believes everyone is out to stream snipe him when damn near a lot of ppl play Tekken and the pool of players are bigger due to cross play.
