Is Lumbar Spine Fusion worth it?

I had 3 back fusion surgeries...one in 2005, 2007, and the last in 2012....so the pain I am currently going through is beyond what I can express....I dont wish this hurt on anybody

I had my first back surgery at 18 years old. All together I in total I ave had seven back surgeries. My last back surgery was a success. It felt like a toothache going down my right leg. Good luck with your back. The fusion surgery should have been done a lot earlier. If it had of I would’ve had all of the nerve damage. I am now 65, and still walking.

@@TosTinMan I am doing so much better, with the leg pain gone and with pain management, I can walk again. The doctors didn't believe me for five years. I had bone on bone and they did nothing for me. If you ever have leg pain that feels like a toothache, you should go to the emergency room and make them help you. Medicine done nothing for me when I had the leg pain.

You're a Strong man Jim ... Did you have a Specific injury that Ruptured your Discs? My TOS is Neurogenic & it's just like having Sciatica in your arms so I know what it's like ... Plus I also have Sciatica in my back from L4/5/S1 but I've never had an operation 🙏

I don't really remember anything specific. I grew up on a dairy ranch and I also did a lot of weightlifting when I was young so I think it was just too much heavy lifting. It took it's toll on my discs.

I had L4/5 S1 fusion in 2007 and I’d do it again tomorrow.

@@TosTinMan I am too! It’s not perfect by any means and I still have a lot of pain I deal with but it’s much better than bone on bone contact I had in 2007. I suffered an L3 compression fracture in January that has been giving me fits trying to recover from. I also have fractured T12 a few times but I’ve had an implanted morphine pump since 2009 and that was life changing!! I just had a new pump put in March 14th and they are still trying to get the dosage right on but once it’s dialed in I should have great relief again hopefully

I had a four hour spinal in 2015 i would do again.plus they had to put in new discs
