I bought my M1 MBP (The OG) in 2020. For the next 3 years, it was my daily for work even though my workload required a Windows VM. The only time I had to take a charger with me was when I travelled interstate/internationally for multiple days. The M1 basically reinvented how I saw laptops, from living exclusively in front of a powerful desktop to suddenly having enough portable battery and compute power. I suddenly had the ability to take my whole life with me wherever I went. Suddenly, everything I did became portable - my hobbies and my work. It honestly changed my life and I still use the same M1 MBP today, even to type this comment. After M1 came along, I suddenly realised I could work from anywhere. I went to Cafe's, pubs, my local river just because I could. I travelled to multiple countries in these 4 years and not once did I ever experience battery anxiety. As part of my profession and hobbies, I live much of my life in front of a computer and the M1 absolutely changed how I live.

I'm still rocking my M1 Max personally with no feeling for a need of an upgrade anytime soon. My i7 Intel in my work machine is working fine more me as well, and due to my need of a bunch of x64 VMs, I don't want to have it replaced with an ARM one... they'll have to pry it out of my hands, cause I also don't want a Windows machine. haha
